O M G ! I bought my stepper last year and never used it!! And today was the day I brought it out and when I found this beginner workout!! Wow 😯 I started at lower level and still had my heart rate up ! I was concerned of balance and eye and body coordination 😂 but I did well ! Goal was not falling or tripping so I did amazing lol did 20 mins in the morning and finished the last 15 minutes later in the day. I had to finish the last 10 min on the floor with no step. I didn’t want to give up so did it without step box. I appreciate the stretch afterwards and love the “ you cannot be fitter if you’re a quitter” love it ! My mantra for this year . I wish you well ! I’ll be back for more 😅 ❤ thank you 😊

You're right - it felt very different! I've enjoyed vertical step before but haven't experienced "landing on top" at the end of the 8 beats. Was feeling a bit discouraged at first (totally loved it when you encouraged us to fake smile!!!) but didn't quit - great workout and thank you Chris for always challenging us and motivating us!!

I'm still not ready for the usual 60-min Sat step (knee issue) so this was a great alternative. You and Guy are right...starting at the top of the step does make a difference. Thanks for another great one Chris! : )

Hi Chris. Coming back slowly after a particularly bad chest infection and massive breathing issues. Did this one to take it easy (I love vertical step) but without a step. It was good to be back moving. Going to be easing back gently in the next few weeks. Thank you (05.03.2024)

thank you so much for your energy! I returned to full time work in the office and didnt practice for a while. It was so refreshing to get back to step with you! At first, I was too tired to do anything, but somewhere in the middle of the workout, I started to enjoy it! thank you for this feeling!

After a couple of weeks away, this was one that was tricky but I really liked it. I have been so tired lately from work, I have been coming home and falling asleep for 90-120 minutes. I wanted to do that today but knew I had to do something to change my feelings. It had been a tough day but you helped me feel better as you always do. Be well my friend.
@DebbieSmith-se3gq8 ай бұрын
this one was deceptively tricky, however, really well taught, as always. The only problem was when I, for some reason, got complacent and let my mind drift and then ended up in a pickle. Lesson learnt. Never plan supper while doing a Chris step class!🤣😂Joking aside, I loved learning something new and I will try more vertical step and I loved the thought that brain and physical activity work hand in hand towards better fitness. I never ever feel like your workouts are a chore, so really thank you!

Loved the mental challenge just by repositioning the step. I was able to add power to many of the moves once I learned the choreography. Thank you!
@ValerieOwen2008gbs8 ай бұрын
This routine was a lot of fun. I thought your instructions were great, taking the time to show the moves several times slowly made it all click. I wanted to mention that as a 62 year old that still loves step and will always have balance issues because of neuropathy in my feet from GBS. The most important thing is to make sure to step squarely on the step to prevent falls. If that means watching your feet more than the TV, so be it. And don't worry about your arms if it confuses you. Just keep moving and pause and catch up if you have to.
@kathynitsche57868 ай бұрын
With any workouts that involve choreography, I find if I over think things, I mess up more. This one is especially true, but I kept moving, telling myself it’s ok to make a mistake, just keep moving and get it the next time! I love a good mental and physical workout, thank you Chris for changing things up.❤️

Did this in the floor as I am still recovering from TKR. Loved the music and after that advanced step I tried with you and Guy - this will be perfect to learn from! Can’t wait to get back to full strength!👊🏽👏🏽

Back in the before time, my in-person step class used to do vertical step routines occasionally. My muscle memory remembered the concepts and I happened to catch this video live while I was drinking my morning coffee. That looks easy, I thought. The choreography was easy but what a workout! Much more aerobic than regular step starting from the floor. I've searched for your others and will try them out soon. Thank you.
