In regards to the cutting in line. I am in a wheelchair. When I am in line you would NOT believe the amount of people who "don't see me", as they cut right in front of me. Usually I don't say anything, I am too shy. But if a friend is with me, and they speak up. It is always the "oh I didn't see her", and very snarky about it. Once there was a long line up, a security guy was walking around, he saw me, and he had me go to the front. I was so shocked, I had tears in my eyes. I felt like royalty LOL.

I am so sorry you have to experience this on the daily. I once saw a bus driver try to drive away without pickup up a wheelchair passenger because he didn't feel like getting out to open the ramp. A bunch of bystanders literally blocked the bus with their bodies and screamed at the driver to let the passenger on, and wouldn't move until he complied. At that moment, my faith in humanity was (temporarily) restored.

I was in a wheelchair for two months. It made me instantly invisible to some people and instantly, "I want to make her life easier," from other people. I was trying to get out of a toy store but it was crowded and a guy blocked the aisle. I asked nicely. Then I asked firmly. Finally I yelled, "If you do not move out of my way, I WILL run over your feet." His friend made him move. What you described is ableism. Get past the shyness and advocate for yourself. "You didn't see me in my big-ass wheelchair? Or you just like to pretend people like me don't exist. Which is it?"

I don't like dog groomers that take hours and hours to groom a dog. 6 hours. What kind of dog is it a filthy dirty Pyrenees. My dog groomer to do my two king shepherds and my little dog will take 4 hours. I don't like this oh we half groom them that we go work on this dog and then we half groom that dog. Then we go back to your dog and then we go back to dog c and then dog d. No. Grooming is stressful. It should be one dog. One groomer done. Yeah he shouldn't have brought it in when there was no appointments but I kind of feel like that's the way she runs her business and it's a really crappy way to groom dogs.

I was a Dental Hygienist. Patients would come late for their appointment and I would be chilling in the lunch room eating my salad. You could hear them banging on the window demanding to be seen. Some would stroll on in screaming. I just sat there eating and said would you like me to make YOU work on YOUR lunch hour? I was here ready for you. So sorry you can call after lunch hours and reschedule. It will be a three month wait. They would threaten me saying I’m going to talk to the Dentist. I said go ahead, he will charge you a late/ missed appt fee.😁

I'm late semi-frequently due to having several chronic health conditions and disorders. I ALWAYS make sure to call ahead if I'm running late and let them know. If we need to move the appt I understand. And if there's a reasonable fee I'm happy to pay it I say reasonable bc there are some truly wack fees. Once had a psychiatrist you'd always have to wait 2 hours to see. He literally had 3 waiting rooms you'd move through bc the wait times were so long. But if you were 15 minutes late (still 1 hr 45 minutes before you'd be seen) they'd charge you $90.

@ We always appreciate when patients called. As a hygienist we have a tight schedule. 45 minutes per patient. That had to include medical history review, oral exam, probe charting, X-rays if necessary, the cleaning and polishing and the dentist rolling in for any issues we found. If you run late that time is removed from your appt. If you were an easy clean I might be able to swing it but if you had major tartar and staining I would be unable to do it properly. And it’s not fair for the next patient who is on time to get their appt reduced in time. And personally I never ran late into my lunch hour or going home exactly at 5pm. All of my patients were aware that I ran on time. You got my full attention. If you were more than ten minutes late you could choose to reschedule or see if the dentist would clean your teeth. Now he never ran on time so patients would get confused why he would see anyone regardless of the time versus myself who was un-negotiable. I would always explain how would you like me to show up at your job late and reduce your time eating lunch or leaving work late. You wouldn’t. They don’t want to work late but expected me too. Patients would even get mad if I went on vacation. It took roughly 3-4 months to schedule an appt with me so if you missed your appt it was a long time. I always put them on my cancellation list so they would get those slot firsts. I don’t agree with late fees or cancellation fees. Stuff happens that you can’t control. Traffic, weather, parking or just being sick. I always felt having to wait for a new appt was enough. And your also right, when Drs give you a time and you wait for an hour or more I’d like to charge a waiting fee.😁

12:02 For all the people who don’t understand, dog grooming is hard on us physically and mentally. I had bilateral carpal tunnel at 22 and so did many of my coworkers, back injuries are so common, finger amputations, trying to get a 150lb dog in the tub and on our tables and then drying and cutting their hair. We see neglect CONSTANTLY. Dogs coming in pelted so badly that the fur comes off in one piece and sometimes body parts fall off too because the matting cut off the circulation, you can’t unsee something that horrible. On top of all that we get yelled at by entitled customers every single day. Tip your groomer and don’t be this person. We work our butts off and always put the dogs first.

What I heard on the refund story (Indian woman), is when she was told the money was refunded, she said, no it was a deduction. They were STILL TAKING MONEY out, and not putting it back in, that's why she was there and upset. No one was listening, let alone fixing the problem. Why would a uniform shop be constantly taking money out of someone's account?

Which at first used to confuse me but multiple people that mistook me for an employee at the stores said oh we thought you worked here cause you looked like you knew exactly where you were going. Like I was moving with a purpose. I do have a lanyard for my car keys and I used to wear them on my neck and so A lot of people noticed my lanyard and that’s what made them think I was an employee. Either way though I be in all the same stores pretty often especially now cause I’m a personally shopper for other people and so I know atleast the general isle where most things are. I still try to help people cause it sucks sometimes having to hunt down a employee to help you find the item you’ve already been looking for lol 😂

@@Raraking4796I tend to kind of smile when I'm in public and I have a habit of putting shirts back on hangers or picking up clothing off the floor that other people knocked down because I would pick up a second job in retail during the holiday season for extra money, people are always coming up to me to ask me where something is. If it's a store I know well, I'll either tell them the aisle number or walk with them to the item. My mom, sister and I would do an all day shopping trip a few times a year and they used to laugh at how many times people would come up and ask me where to find things. A few times, it would be a grandmother type looking for a pink sweater for their granddaughter or something along those lines and because I had a general idea and we passed that rack, I'd walk them over. Sometimes the person would suddenly realize I didn't work there and they'd apologize for their mistake and other times they'd just thank me for my help and go about their shopping. My son gets aggravated with it and tells me to quit looking approachable. Lol

Which literally meant, my word was law. The first few years I was a little scared and a little too nice. But learned very quickly that never works. The good thing about being a Bartender, as a woman, it teaches you very quickly how to stand up for yourself and how to take no shit. That woman, the first time she spoke to the co worker the way she did, would have been given one warning.... if she created trouble again, I would remove her drinks and shown her the door. If she did not remove herself, I would have removed her myself. (I'm very good at that)

I used to work as a cashier for Wal-mart and I can tell ya - there are no set-in-stone times for your breaks and lunch. If it's busy, you work until a lead comes and says that you can take your lunch. You might be on your feet running that lane for 6 hours before you get a break or lunch, so yeah, that man needed his damn lunch! lol (and for the commenter remarking about their 15 minute break... your break periods are mandated by your state, you have to work a certain number of hours to get a break. and Wal-mart does give 1 hour lunch periods to people working an 8-hour shift, but it's an unpaid lunch, so it just extends your shift to 9 hours)

With the line thing…one time I was waiting in line for something for about 24 hours. We slept on the streets of NYC to get into an event we’d been looking forward to all year and we were literally second in line. It was a limited thing so we wanted to make sure we got in. After most of the waiting was done the girl in front of us had like 10 friends join her in front of us. I’m tiny so I was scared to confront them but I did. They just laughed. I haaaaate line cutters. One person is fine, a group is not.

Same!!! But honestly I’m annoyed with even one person. One time, ONE person cut in front of me when I was waiting to merge onto the highway in a high traffic area in NYC. I took a deep breath, let it roll off my shoulders, and just as I was about to go next, a cop car rolled in front of me and closed off the highway because of a smoking car on the entry ramp. Added a whole extra HOUR to my already 2 hour long commute. I was furious. Another time one person cut in front of me and my husband and I when we were waiting to get on a roller coaster and as luck would have it, right before it was our turn, the ride got shut down. I can’t stand line cutters whether it’s one person or more. People should go BACK in line to wait with their friend or the friend should have been ready to get on the line in the beginning.

What I do with my friends is we all get in line together. 1 at a time can leave to go to the bathroom etc or maybe 2 if it’s really busy so no one is off alone and I typically kindly say to the person behind us, hey, they are just using the restroom and will be back so we are holding their spot. If you would like us to hold your place for the same we are more than happy to do so and I’m super sorry if this is an inconvenience. One of the first things the other employees tell you when you start working there - as soon as you start heading for lunch or break TAKE THE VEST OFF! Not to mention, if you get stopped at any time to answer a customer question during your break, your break is paused while helping that customer - whether it takes 15 seconds or 5 minutes. You are NOT allowed to work while off the clock - that includes break and lunch. I can't tell you how many times I was 'late' coming back from break because a customer literally got in my way and demanded I open a locked cabinet in electronics when I didn't even work in that department.

And no, I think some will start to argue with you anyway, this conversation that guy had would have happend anyway because that guy didn't accept a no as an answer, not understanding basic things. Important note- state law where I live dictates that if you're under 21 you cannot be in the bar after 10 pm and if you cannot produce an id stating that you're of age, you can't be in the bar. So he's having his birthday party and is sitting at the bar with all of his friends and fans and the place is poppin. Karen and her husband (who was a genuinely cool and nice guy) came in and had a few rounds, while playing pool. After a while they're joined by two very young girls and it's after 10 pm. So I ask them for their ids to make sure they can be there. One of them doesn't have her state id on her, is promising she's not there to drink, has her college id. I tell her my hands are tied, I'm gonna have to ask her to leave unless she can produce a state id due to state law. The sign dictating the law was also behind me. I guess this was Karen's daughter and when the young girls tell her they have to leave she starts popping off with me about how they should stay, she's her daughter, they won't be there very long and the kicker. "I know the owner". Who at this point has cued into what's going on as he's just a few seats away. He shakes his head at me and laughs giving the clear "I don't know her". The entire time I'm being kind and polite and she is just losing it. At this point the girls just want to leave, husband is unaware of anything that's happening and I'm getting frustrated. Finally the girls go outside to wait for their ride to pick them back up, Karen goes with and husband orders another beer. Karen comes back in about 30 minutes later as husband is ordering another beer and he asks where the girls went. Shes rather honest and says I wouldn't let them stay because one of them didn't have a state id on her and they went home. He laughs and says that's dumb, I told her to bring her id and goes back to playing pool. Karen decides to just sit at the bar and sulk and I offer her another drink and she says "I would love one, but I don't have my id so you can't serve me" I looked her straight in the eye and said "honey I don't need an id to tell you're over the age of 21" hand her a drink and move on with my day. The owner of the bar did not leave his seat the entire time. She was sitting right next to him when she said that, never said hi to him (exposing that she in fact did not know the owner) and when I got my quip in he nodded at me and said good job.

I was in line at an amusement park a few weeks ago and we had a party of 1 ahead of us in line, and she was joined like 30 minutes later by a group of literally TEN MORE PEOPLE (I counted). 7-8 of them were kids, and it looked like a large family sent their oldest child to get in line while the rest of them did other things…it was so annoying 🙄

As an amusement park worker, the big groups can be just the worst sometimes. If that kind of crap isn't bad enough, they will also hold things up when they get to the front too because they always argue about where everyone's going to sit and there's a 50/50 chance they actually listen to anything you tell them.

I understand if one of group had to go run to the bathroom while waiting in line. I also get it if someone has some sort of health issues where standing for an extended period of time is not something they can do. But if you are just one person keeping the place for 5 other people who didn't feel like standing in line for an hour for a popular ride or show - you can ALL go to the back of the line, including the placeholder.

Absolutely Not! That is not acceptable or fair! I totally understand though because I am a recovering people pleaser and I am bad with confrontation . I always want to say something when something happens & I never do . I'm always too nice but never can think of just what to say or how to say it then later on I go over it in my head 20xs thinking of how I could've handled it better. I been used & abused because of this .Last year my teen was getting picked on and physically touched by the new 70yr old headmaster & we were so upset about it cuz she was constantly touching him & bothering him for no reason so I went to the school , very expensive private school, & flipped out ,threatened to sue and told them how the whole situation has made my teen depressed and its on them if anything happens because he was happy & doing great then she got hired & started harassing him & his grades dropped ,he was depressed & wasent the same. He came home telling me something she did daily ! Like caressing his hair or shoulders, seeking him out and grilling him about whatever , it was creepy & embarassing to a 16yr old , So I went down there & snapped and I made the vice principal cry and they both apologized nonstop cuz I could have sued. Well the headmaster basically sucked up to me & my son until she retired soon after this happened. Now the Vice principal that I made cry is the new headmaster and she's terrified of me but I dont care, dont mess with my kids! Only time I'm proud of speaking up cuz its so hard for me. Idk why. I just hate confrontation .

The skirt-groper one...I don't remember it being a husband but I remember that her 10yr old son was sitting there and could see up her skit...so she figured she had 'the right'. Its all over youtube so go find it when she's talking to the cops. One of the things she said was "the whole room stood up and clapped for me ... I got standing ovation." Well, the problem with that is that everything was on camera. I've seen people write "everyone clapped" but never actually heard anyone say it. Anyway, her time with the police is funny, too.

I'm a pharmacy tech. When I worked at a retail location, I had a customer get upset because her husband's script wasn't ready. (For a back story, she'd been told multiple times she had to give us a few days to compound it as it required ingredients we didn't typically stock.) Luckily we had the ingredients, so we told her to come back in 20 minutes so the pharmacist could put it together. When she came back she asked why she was never called if it wasn't ready. I explained that we don't have the man power to call every customer about every issue, however she was more than welcome to call and ask if the script was ready. She stated 'I have nothing but issues when I come here. As soon as his refills are gone, I'm taking my business elsewhere!' I offered to have his refills transferred to any pharmacy of her choice. She refused and said 'No, because then it would be a convenience for you!'. I replied,' Then I guess you'll deal with us next month. Have a good day!!'

Charlotte doing line cutting right 👏 meeting up with your friends in line is understandable, we've all done it. doing something nice for the people that did something nice for you (letting you cut in line) is how you make it a mutually beneficial scenario. all parties leave happy! My sibling and I had a similar situation when waiting in line to get into a GA show - they were running late, so they brought donuts for all the people in line around me. not a single soul complained about one person joining the line in exchange for free donuts. similar concept - trading seats with someone on the plane so you can sit next to your friend. you always give the person the seat closer to the front so it makes up for the inconvenience of having to move seats. they get a better seat, you get to sit with your friend. everyone wins 👏

"You can't argue with a fire hazard." Oh, Charlotte, how I wish that were true. I work front of house at a live theatre, and somehow people STILL argue with me about fire code - even though theatres (live and movie) have historically been THROUGH IT with devastating fires.

Charlotte, I think a whole lot of us need you to do a 24 hour live stream today. Thank you for always being a source of levity.
