I've been making a lot of garlic fried rice using butter, sesame seed oil, Japanese rice, garlic egg, and scallions lately. I usually put a little dark soy on it. Good for breakfast.

just an input for additional way to prepare the rice, without storing the rice overnight in fridge, you can spread thinly the freshly cooked rice on large wide pan, blow fan from 2 hours and they are crumbly enough to be fried rice.

Uncle Roger would be very proud of you. I don't care if he might complain about the sake. That rice was so crumbly that the steam probably helps. Australia usually has much drier air than Malaysia. :P
