CLUTCH HYDRAULIC SYSTEM bleed service - BMW E91 engine N43

- The Clutch slave cylinder uses the same brake fluid
reservoir as the brakes
- It is a good idea to perform this maintenance procedure
when changing the brake fluids!
- Remove underbody protection from transmission
- Connect bleeder hose to bleed valve
- Fill the brake fluid reservoir completely!
- Otherwise you will not get the brake fluid coming
through the slave cylinder
- Loosen the bleed screw slightly first
- Turn on the suction
- Loosen the bleed screw a few more turns
- The brake fluid starts to come out
- Close the bleed screw and check that there is enough fluid
in the brake fluid reservoir
- Drain the bleed hose to see the brake fluid start moving
when the suction is turned on again
- Personally, I repeat this several times to change all the fluids
- This should be enough to get the old brake fluids
from the clutch fluid lines
- Take the extra brake fluid out of the reservoir
- Make sure there is the right amount of brake fluid

It's part of BMW brake fluid service, should be done every 2 years

did you ever manage to fix the 30AE error?

Fault code 30EA is still there. But the sulphuration is not so big that it lights up a fault light on the instrument panel. The car works well and the emissions are correct. You can always get the fault code off for a while when you perform that burning run. In order to remove it completely: It would require physical opening and cleaning of the nox Catalytic Converter... or NOXEM from bimmerprofs

@@JaniVoutilainen So it comes down to the cat having deposits on top of the catalyzing metals which decrease its efficiency due to it being old. I recently got myself a 2009 E92 320i with the 30AE code. I also had a thermostat and nox sensor fault code so it's currently in the shop having those and various other oil leaks fixed. But I have been watching your videos on the desulphation process to get an idea on how the n43 operates. I used to have a 316D N47 and I know how the DPF on the E9x diesels gets clogged up. I managed to get a max od 255.000 km from that one and no amount of cleaning could get it to not regenerate every day. The E92 has 180.000km so I am wondering if the nox cats have the same kind of lifespan and behavior as they get old. Luckily I have carly and I cat trigger a nox regen and I have a nice long highway nearby where I can give it a good long run. I just hope the cat is in good enough condition to not cause problems. I'm a bit ocd and I like my bmws fault free :)

Just got my e92 back from the shop today. After having the thermostat and nox sensor replaced, my beloved is now error free and the desulphation went smoothly and brought down the contamination from 390mg to 139 and went back up to 180mg by the time I turned off the engine. Me happy.
