I guessed that first story, soon as the first sentence was uttered I remembered it like a core memory. A few months ago when I was home alone I could’ve sworn I saw someone looking at me out of the corner of my eye. When I looked out my doorframe, I was sure I saw something quickly duck down behind the stairway railing. When I walked over to the top of the stairs my dog started barking over and over facing the mud room. No one was there but it was a creepy experience.

Does anyone else remember that story where a guy went to the movies and he was the only one in the theater and then he saw someone poking their head up from a row of seats looking at him. And it kept getting closer and he decided to leave because he was freaked out and when he walked by the row it was someone holding up a severed human head. That story is the one that has stayed with me and freaked me out the most to this day 😅

Both stories mentioned in this thread are some of his classics. Not to mention the one out of the thousands that I've listened to from him which was a story about a groups of kids, I believe cousins or siblings that got to playing hide and seek and the storyteller ended up in an abandoned farm house I believe. The story went on to talk about how the child fell asleep in the closet after nobody came to look for him and woke up to it being nighttime. He hears the sound of someone walking around in the dark hallway and dragging something about, then the supposed person approached the closet. Before it opens up, an unknown person that was not originally in the closet with him breathes on or touches him and so he fled all the way out of the house without being grabbed or clearly seeing his potential attackers. This dream haunted 12-13 year old me for ages.

The reason why Mr. Nightmare is so popular is his no-nonsense delivery. I rarely subscribe to “true horror” channels because the majority of the narrators either have a voice I don’t like or speak with some sort of affected voice, trying to be scary or edgy or literate or urban or whatever. But while Mr. Nightmare delivers each story in a very straightforward manner, he knows when to use inflection properly. In other words he doesn’t overdo it so that when he does do it it’s effective. As a side note, I think he is also Chilling Scares. If not that channel is a hell of a copy cat. Either way it’s pretty good so if you like Mr. Nightmare you might wanna check Chilling Scares out.

I also like his use of sound effects and music, like if someone were to make a weird noise, he would be able to make a sound like described in the story, and the editing is also really good.

That's why I like Mr nightmare too. The others are so dramatic or they try too hard to be scary. Mr nightmare has the type of voice that actually helps you imagine the stories. With other storytellers I can't visualize the story they're telling.

I acknowledge ghosts and evil spirits exist but I don't believe in them as in I don't think they're the reason some incidents happen to us, like people blaming ghosts for knocking over a cup. Just remember this earth and universe is bigger than we can imagine, there is almost a logical explanation for everything besides creepy retarded people. Never be scared of anyone and anything, because they've won over you at that moment.

The story of that kid hearing their mom call their name reminds me of a time, many years ago- So everybody was home and I was in the kitchen and I suddenly heard my mom call my name as clear as day. I went to the room she was staying in and said 'Huh?' and she told me she hadn't called me so I went asking my other siblings but they said no one called me. I was confused and just continued on with my day lol. My family isn't the type to suddenly call me without any reason or just for a 'prank' so... yeah *shrug* I remember my mom telling me that if you suddenly hear your name being called to not respond to them because she says it's a spirit trying to take you with them. 1st sleep paralysis episode I had was a tall shadowy figure with chunks of flesh hanging off its body, long blackened claws, eyes that looked like the starry night sky and sharp ass teeth and its mouth twice as long as an ordinary humans.. it was fucked. The noises it made sounded like whispers and wheezing kind of like what story 5 was like.. whenever it tried breathing it sounded like it smoked for its whole life.. when it got close it yelled like a lunatic and that last yell echoed and I woke up sweating like crazy. So yeah story 4 and 5 really bothered me. Dreamed about a backrooms entity before the backrooms were even a thing.

The last one was the least scarry for me. It's freaky, but chances are it wasn't even a person in the bush. It was probably an injured or rabid animal, likely a raccoon. And like the story says, what happened later that night was definitely sleep paralysis. It's creepy, yes. But it's not very scary.

@@hondaaccord736 Same. I've had almost the same sleep paralysis situation. The girl from "The Ring" or at least what my mind created was crawling up my bed until she was right over my face. 1. I love Mr. Nightmare's storytelling. He never fails to give me chills, especially on a cold day or night when it's raining out 2. The fourth story gave me chills. I've had nightmares of this happening, but with my dad. Someone pretending to be my dad standing at the end of a street, telling me to follow him only for it to be a disfigured version of him. It always ended right when the weird version of my dad would turn around, and I'd always wake up shaking. It's always terrified me thinking of something that imitates someone close to you in order to lure you towards it.

Story 4 will always be the most terrifying to me. Even if it isn't true, it's still a fear inducing tale. It's short, simple, but effective in the way that it features a fear of manipulation, deception from someone pretending to be a close family member. if a story is able to freak out Mr Nightmare than it’s definitely scary

Sleep paralyses can be incredibly credible, especially as you just has woken up. I have seen huge-ass spiders crawling in the ceiling, and as soon as I gain control of my body I flew out of my bed. Of course, nothing is there, but they look so real and convincing.

Mr nightmare is one of the few things that genuinely gives me inspiration fear, and all and all, he is such a b incredible content creator. He knows how to narrate the stories so well and whenever I watch them, I always find my self looking around me, or scanning my surroundings. It’s amazing, and terrifying. I’ll always be a subscriber. Love the content man. Edit: 69 likes. THE PERFECT NUMBER

@@mrtumnus5690 lol. It was freaky as hell though. Sleep paralysis is one of the most terrifying thing a human can experience. My friend, actually had a sleep paralysis demon from his childhood when he was only 5 or 6. He had a bad dream with his demon, where he stood up, and told him to go away. The sleep paralysis demon simply responded with, “No” I can imagine going through that.

You are in a roll lately with the uploads and I couldn’t be happier ❤️❤️❤️ One of my favorite stories was the one where the author was walking in the woods by a lake when they saw a shadow/some kind of creature behind them, but no matter how far away they ran, it always remained about 6ft behind them. This was shared mid-Covid pandemic so a lot of people joked that it was just respecting social distancing, but when we remove that joke, the situation is haunting.
