Great how to vid. Those exhaust rocker springs and washers are a pain. Can see why you guys sell the Ferrea bushings.

Plz explain why I'd want the Vtec lobe only on those cams with this rocker assembly is it an immense power gain or for what reason?
@user-nu5qr6wh7g Жыл бұрын
Because race car. Lighter single piece rocker and Vtec is always on.

How much cost a head set like that ?
@PowerRevRacing2 жыл бұрын
Complete heads packages range depending on what is being done. But a setup like the one in video is right around $7k for cnc porting, full ferrea valvetrain, BC cams , aluminum rocker setup and valve covers.

Those springs are super annoying. Anyway to run the spring replacements that you guys sell with the aluminum rockers and using the shims?
@PowerRevRacing2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. But you have to file them a little bit. We are releasing some for aluminum rockers next month though , which will fit perfect for the aluminum rockers.

Why not use assembly lube? It stays in place. Why the cam with non vetc lobes when non vtec has been deleted? Why assemble the rocker assembly on the head? Maybe move it safely away on a flat surface? Lastly, I'm guessing only the aluminum rockers use the thrust washers? Cause the steel versions do not
@PowerRevRacing2 жыл бұрын
The none vtec lobes are not om these cams. If you look closely which maybe hard to see in the video but they are completely removed. These are regrinds so they still start from an oem cam and those lobes were completely ground down to reduce weight. Rocker assembly is assembled directly on head to make it easy to understand and see exactly how it's done. Thrust washers are required to remove aluminum to aluminum contact.

@@PowerRevRacing thank you, yes it is kinda hard to see the change in the lobes. Maybe a future video idea, how the idle is changed with the vetc alway on?

Now that set up needs a different valve cover, non VTech lobes correct? Also, how far are you out on the exhaust aluminum spacers to eliminate the exhaust side springs? Always love seeing these videos, and you know from our conversations I can't wait for my whole cnc head set up, the works. I have sourced some of the aluminum parts. Unfortunately life hit me again and the TL Type S has to come out again. I got 6k Miles out if the clutch masters Stage 3+ clutch. I guess I'll go with the stage 1 or 2. And I think I'm going get the synchros and cuff for the transmission, since it's coming apart again. Having issues with fast first to second shifting then I can't get it to go back in first without an hour of messing with the linkages. I haven't called you about it, since I'm trying to get this clutch to last as long as possible.

Yes our complete kit includes new valve covers as well which clear the aluminum rockers. Im ready whenever you are. We will get your setup nice.

@@PowerRevRacing I am curious about the oiling for the rockers, from my understanding you need the non VTech bars that hold the rockers, shims, and springs in place to bolt down with the dowels, I don't know their exact name. without the oiling holes. Am I correct with this?
@DMF7162 жыл бұрын
Do you have any cams that will work for the J35Z2...I gather it's not a true Vtec with the 2 intake lobes per cylinder on the camshaft. I saw a video that explained the Z2 was not a Vtec.
@KeeleDesign2 жыл бұрын
Those rockers came off the j35z1 ? Correct? Im currently machining down my non vtec lobes on my cam to save weight and trying to decide if I will be welding the rockers together, and filing down weight off them or if I can find a set that will work just by building custom valve covers that are already in process.
