We took a trip to North Idaho to hit a few challenging off-road trails. (Day 1) we hit the Denver Creek trail and the Roller Coaster trail. (Day 2) "Today" The Compressor Trail. We took Decay, my 73' K20, and Jeremy's black XJ and Dylan's red TJ (Empty pockets off-road and overland). This trail is divided into the lower Compressor and the Upper Compressor trail. to save time we decided to only do the upper end of the trail. I struggled a little because of the of "Decay's" size, wheelbase, turning radius, because of the "mini spool", and rear limited slip. I struggled getting up the waterfall too long and that darn limited slip. I had to winch up the falls, and the other couldn't get all the way to the top. I kept spinning out in the loose rocks at the very top. Jeremy took pity on me and tried to pull me to the top in reverse and wound up breaking his upper control arm. we secured it and just headed back down the trail. then to top it all off on the way out, somewhere along the way I had broken the left front leaf spring centering pin and the tire walked up into the front of the fender. I caught up to Jeremy and bumped my tire into his and bumped it back into place. Jeremy and I just had to drive out in 2-wheel drive.
overall, it was a great trip where I had given my pickup a good test. found things that I need to change and upgrade. thanks for following along. #offroad #pacificnorthwest #chevy #compressorcreek #4x4 #4x4adventures #k20
