Just imagine it... The quillette wolves and the cullens have a grudge of sorts, and Charlie notices. He didn’t think much of it, but when a string of murders began in forks, he began to notice some interesting differences in both the friend’s family. The quilette clan seems to have a habit of roaming around in with no tops, noticed when Jake, Paul and Sam showed up near the crime scene like that, and that they were surprisingly strong. The cullens seem to have an aversion to sunlight, that was only noticed when he overheard Jake and Edward got into a fight, Jake blaming him for the animal attacks, and he brings that up. He gets more and more suspicious until he finally snaps at Billy and Carlisle when they were having their passive aggressive arguments. The proof was there, realised when he remembered Billy’s stories. He was incredulous until he snapped. After both groups gave up, and tried to act like it wasn’t true, he walked in on Edward fighting a ginormous wolf, that was moments before Jacob the kid he saw growing up. He took his shot gun and pointed it at Jacob. “If you’re still the boy I saw grow up, change back. Or if you’re not, I’ll shoot. He said while glaring at both Edward and Jacob. When he turned back, he talked to Billy and Jacob and got the entire story out of them, Edward and Carlisle met him at the police station. Now he became the bridge of sorts between vampires and wolves.

As someone who has lived in Florida, yeah I can understand no one ever saying "I miss the heat". However, as someone who grew up in Arizona, I can understand it. Arizona has dry heat whereas Florida is hella moist and hot. The first of which hurts but is supportable and the latter of which is sticky and annoying.

Honestly there really is a LOT of good material in the series (mostly the books since they go more in depth) that just gets overshadowed by its role as a YA romance. Even in the books though, the way Bella finds out Edward is a vampire is much more interesting to me -- instead of some overdramatic scene in a forest, it's several tense conversations alone, Bella trying to pry what little information she can get and drawing her own conclusions, and Edward trying to decide how much to actually tell her and whether or not he wants her to run scared or come back curious for more. Not saying the books are perfect in any regard, but they have so much potential that the movies wasted.
