Mother Abigail from "The Stand" (can't believe Ruby Dee passed away already 6 years ago...), John Coffey from "The Green Mile", Dick Halloran from "The Shining", Speedy Parker from "The Talisman" (an amazing book that ties directly to The Dark Tower, a tad underrated IMHO) ... in "Shawshanks redemption", they even race-lifted Red so he could asceng into the magical realm and be played by Morgan "God" Freeman. Oh shit, I just realized that in that terrible Dark Tower movie (I try to forget it so much), he again race-lifted Roland so Idris Elba, who looks pretty darn wise, could play him. Well thank God this shit movie tanked, because Roland being black would have had some serious consequences once Susannah and Odetta would have joined his ka-tet ^^

I watched this in theaters with my ex-girlfriend. I was not a Twilight fan. Let me tell you, watching an entire theater lose their minds during that final battle scene was the sight of a lifetime. Literal tears and screams and people jumping out of their seats. I was confused by the outrage, because I assumed the entire theater had read the books. Leaning over to my girlfriend I said, "Babe why are you so upset if you read the book-" "THIS WASN'T IN THE BOOK WHAT ARE THEY DOING THEY'RE RUINING IT" I leaned back in wonder thinking, "Oh god. Are they really doing this?" Fascination quickly turned to fear however, as flashes of riots started to flicker before my eyes. A girl standing on her seat here, some popcorn flung skyward there, my girlfriend growing steadily agitated in her seat beside me. I began scanning the exit signs, devising an escape plan for when things went south. And then, the fake-out reveal. The collective sigh of relief drowned out all sound for the next 10 seconds. Nervous laughter filled the room as everyone came to their senses. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life.
