My points listed on the top right are cumulative since the first video. It's essentially my score. To know how many I've used just subtract 1 from my level. ie; I'm level 20 so I've used 19 points as I started at level 1. Anytime I level I'll show it on video so you guys are aware. I'm not entirely sure if the roar works on literally all attacks, but since I don't have the dusk crown it was worth a shot when fighting stray demon. Humanity went into getting Chaos Covenant +2 for chaos storm.

I've noticed on some of the large weapons that the F+R2, R2 and plunging R2 do the exact same damage as one another. Note plunging without having the special animation doesn't do extra damage, it is essentially a fancier version of the F+R2. I used to always try to do the F+R2 with the great club until I realized the standing R2 is identical damage wise. I didn't try jumping due to being difficult to time. Hitting her on the decline with a standing R2 was more consistent.

I used the great club in my test character but it wasn't doing as much damage. Sometimes the AR doesn't match up to the actual damage you get due to the moveset. My original plan was to simply use the greatclub as soon as I got enough points, 7 is all I'd have needed, then switch up to something better but in the end it wasn't worth the effort for the short time. The reason the hammer was able to one shot Quelaag is due to the reach. That R2 attack has similar vertical reach to a halberd.

It wouldn't have quite been enough, but even if it was it would have locked up a ring slot which I needed. Chaos spells take 2 slots and I still needed PW so using the darkmoon seance ring was the only way to do it without wasting levels.

I tried the backward jump falling attack and it worked the first time!! (Beginner's luck!) Second time left behind one live drake that chomped the remaining health out of me ... third time left me in the middle of three live drakes, that chomped the remaining health out of me ... this is fun stuff man! Thanks!! :)

Theoretically yes, though I don't think my viewers would be happy with me copping out considering the whole point is it's a challenge. Meaning I personally will find a way to defeat him within the spirit of the challenge.

Theres an animation of his you have to trigger where he tosses his head back, before he will fall. If he never triggers that animation he never falls. Im pretty sure the animation gets triggered at 70% of health. So as long as you can pound him hard with your one hit you should be able to drop him like that. He never falls if you dont take enough health off though (tested w/ 32 dex +15 iaito 2 hits, no test for high damage.)

It does in my book. It's only useful a few times in the challenge, but yes it's allowed. I did it on Capra and Taurus in the first video.

Sen's Fortress, the tar pits in the bottom. You can get there jumping off from the first walkway you encounter with the large swinging axes.

Sure, but I'm guessing the invasions will be very slow, not to mention at low levels you may not win enough to be faster than farming them normally. With my method you can kill 150-180 drakes an hour and even if the drop rate is something like 1 in 10(or even 1 in 5) it'd be faster than invasions.

He differentiated between different types of falls. Kicking and enemy off a cliff or tricking them to jump off themselves does not count because you didn't technically make an attack because you dealt no damage. However, he said backstabbing an enemy off of a cliff (think Darkroot Dark Knight) it's fair game since your single attack caused them to die. So the Golem kill was just fine according to those rules.

Hi Vageta, as always a master class to watch, seeing that flying hydra too ! sick ! this challenge manage to get me back in DkS, I cannot record but I started to gather the gear for hyper mode. I used your shortcut to get to lower burg and open the shortcut, I will try to rely on resin since I am no way near your skill to take on the catacombs. maybe not enough damage but will see. I can't say this with complete certainty, but I think vageta dropped us all a hint when replayed his hit on quelaag in slow motion. If you hit her body directly (the naked woman's body, not the spider) you get bonus damage. I'm guessing he used the arc of the greathammer's attack to hit her body directly.

Yes you can. You don't always have the damage boost, it only occurs for about 5 seconds after you do the dragon roar. The dragon head/body goes away after you die.

I've seen that one, I thought that you were talking about a true one shot kill. There still is not one for manus or artorias that I'm aware of, though I think getting them in two is quite doable.

if you check the rules of the challenge it saids that " Boss fights with multiple opponents allow for 1 hit on each to count for a "one shot". However you aren't allowed 2 hits on each boss for a "two shot" kill. In that situation you must still one shot at least one of them to get the point " he even explain you the rule to the challange in his first 2 video's .

Can't kill them with a fall using -only- the fall. The Iron Golem needs to be attacked for him to stumble off the arena. Like, he also said that you could parry/riposte to cause them to fall down and it'd count apparently. The fireball he'd used is the reason the golem fell.

I did it over the course of 2 days. Probably 4 hours or so. I also got a dragon scale from the undead dragon, the one in blighttown and one in great hollow so you don't actually have to farm all 30.

He said in part one; you're allowed the point if your hit causes them to fall off the edge, kicking or running around to make them fall doesn't count however.

Of course. It took me many tries to get Quelaag perfect like that. If you don't kill in one shot then just homeward bone or die and try again.

No there are some bosses that cannot be 1 shotted even with max stats using the best equipment and tactics. They simply have too many hit points and defense to break through. Quelaag would be easy enough to one shot given no other limitations, she was just a major roadblock in this specific challenge. That said I'm sure I'm going to have to settle for some 2 shot kills in the near future, but who knows I might be able to at least complete the game.

First of all, Merry Christmas! I love your videos man, taught me everything i needed to know about dark souls. I have a proposition for you, can u do a Lord Blade Ciaran run? It would be fantastic to see how u cope with only real dual wield set and that fantastic armor of hers. Gear should be obvious, but just in case: Lord Blade armor set, hornet ring, dark wood grain ring, right hand: Dark Silver Tracer, left hand : Gold Tracer. This was on PC so there was no previous patch, however I could have just used cheat engine to give myself 99 scales in 30 seconds. The point was to do it legit and offer tips for others that wish to do the same.

Hi Vageta, I finally farmed the scales and tried the queelag fight. I used different weapons to no avail then I decide to use the same hammer you used with everything activated, power within, redstone, dragon roar , I am barely doing 2k damage in melee. I guess I'll take the single point and move on. anyway that was a mighty blow.

Yep 1 level per point, I just don't spend them right away since I'm careful to use them only when needed.

Apparently that was a bug that they patched in the PTD content. I haven't specifically tested it but it doesn't seem to drain as fast.

Basically, if you hit an enemy and cause them to stagger themselves off a cliff/drop it's allowed, but if you continually kick them to knock them off or run around trying to make the AI run off the edge it's not allowed :)

No, he farmed them for the dragon torso stone. It boost attack damage by 25% for a short amount of time.

From watching this the only thing I found was. You can use unnupgraded pyromancy flame to lessen the damage from power within. Ofcouse if what you want is more dmg on yourself to activate red tearstone ring that is understandable.

He meant that he can not just kick an enemy off a ledge to get the kill. He would have to do damage to move them towards the edge and hope they fall off with that one / two attack(s).

Only the ash lake one, the one in darkroot can't fly as it has nowhere to jump to, however, if you use the right gameshark you can actually get it to jump to the river in darkroot garden (The one that is there when you climb up the ladder) looks really stupid.

I'm doing exactly what he's doing and I use R1 attack. Just make sure you are 2 handing the axe and that you have power within active. having 10+ humanity on you is risky but normally if something odd happens and you die you can get back to it. I wouldn't recommend bringing a full 10 humanity until you are fairly confident in your ability to do a full run without dying though. I've lost 25 humanity from popping 10 and then dying cause I didn't know what I was doing.

I think if you just sit there while he's hanging on, he'll eventually fall off on his own since he can't simply jump back from where he started. I believe that's what he was getting at.

He explained this, he doesn't care about what qualifies as a miniboss or not, he only included them in the challenge because he wanted to make leveling up easier with his "right to level up" rule. He said there are enough minibosses on the list at the wiki to count for points, so he won't add anything else to the list.

Item discovery doesn't work on lizards the same way as other creatures. They already have guaranteed item drops and to my knowledge item discovery only works on "chance to drop" not "chance to drop something good". Merry Xmas to you as well.

I've been thinking, wouldn't the Great Club +15 be better to use than the Demon Axe +15? It weighs less, has 337 base damage with A scaling strength, and only requires 19 strength to two hand. I was wondering because I don't know if the S scaling makes the axe stronger than the club.

Took me a few tries to say the least. The pillars had to be in just the right places for them to hit that many times.

The reason jumping off the tower forwards to kill the 3 drakes at once doesn't work is because your weapon won't hit the one closest to the tower twice. If you notice how they're clumped, you'll only hit that close drake as you're falling and not when the weapon actually hits the ground. The Hydra flies? Lol. Wow. Why'd you switch to the Demon Great Hammer? Better than the Demon Great Axe?

like i said, he falls when his head tossing animation is finished, so you could have got the last handful of hits in while the animation was going if you werent specifically looking for it. It invalidates the test unfortunately.

I let him fall many times and first few times I hit his hand - but I m sure he also falls if you just close the distance (to the hand) and backtrack to the fog gate - he falls without hitting

Would you consider showing your total points racked up and how many you've used to date? Does the Dragon Roar only increases physical attack damage and not Pyromancy damage? And, lastly, was your hit on Quelaag a "critical" hit (since you hit her in the head, which I presume is a "weak spot")? Where'd your 17 Humanity go? Lol. LOL, nice kill on the Golem! That was epic! Part 4, Part 4! This series is one of my favourites out of all of the ones you've done so far!
