Ditto. Just can't get over the Fact he's gone..! 8 yrs or so, now. And it Breaks my Heart. That there will be no more releases to test our minds. He was always Twisting and Turning his Style..! I found, as he got older his work just got Better.! Mssing him Daily..! Rip. David Bowie. Gone but Not Forgotten. 😢 Cheer All. 😎

I heard a rumour that during "Live By Request", the most requested song was actually "The Laughing Gnome" but Bowie refused to play it.

BreakingGlass77 Why?
@samley26915 жыл бұрын
DJ Santiago Do you really need to ask why he didn’t want to play that? Haha
@elliotdobson79963 жыл бұрын
@@DJSantiagosworld I know this is very late but I found out recently why. So apparently he was more than willing to do the song. He was going to do it in a velvet underground style, but he found out that nme had been trying to get everyone to use their vote on laughing gnome and so he was annoyed that they influenced it

Now approaching my 68yr. it Just seems wrong that he's gone..😢 But the 1 up to that, is it may not be long before I join him..! Tickets would have to be Free in Heven, right..?😇 And if in Hell, worth my Soul..! 😈

Love this version. The " sound" is better here than on the album version in my humble opinion. I've noticed that "B" sings live performances of his songs with more gusto than on recorded versions. This is my opinion. To me "B" comes alive during live performances. Imho Bowie is the ORIGINAL "B" not Beyonce.

Pure silk, which wraps almost impalpable, but reaches the heart, up to scratching without doing evil... yet touches it and you ... you feel troubled by following the sinuous waves of a timbre so caressing... by a modulation so rich in nuances, suspended between the senses and the incorporeal state. You are sad and happy at the same time. Pure Art! Many thanks.

How could someone as great as Bowie not be able to find a competent guitarist? The overall performance definitely gained momentum, though.
@simonbeck71085 жыл бұрын
It's not easy duplicating Pete Townshend from the Who - he did the studio recording... If Slick turned the guitar up to the volume level Pete had in the studio to get those great loud overtones it would be louder than the rest of the band - So Slick had to do something else that Townshend... you can't always recreate everything from the record to a live-setting.
