5 seconds in and i already see how a lack of the status quo hes effected the show. - Burn Bot is still gone - he rushed into the show, rather then warm in to it - his attire seem unrelated to the topic at hand - he looks like he's about to have a mental break down

Max is very good at subtle refrences to describe a situation. its a great way of showing and not telling. In the Venom episode Max (the actual writer/illustrator) showed that Max G. (the fictional max that i will be calling Max G.) isnt very capable and can make uneducated decisions really easily. The whole episode he waves around 2 guns, a pump action shotgun of an unspecified name and a semi automatic pistol that looks like a glock 15. he waves the guns constantly around, his finger is on the trigger constantly, he holds the shotgun wrong and he isnt careful with the guns, etc etc. all of which are GIGANTIC no-nos and basic 101 stuff with firearms. his careless-nes also leads to him blowing his finger off, showing what is to come. Max also kinda merges with Max G. as Max doesnt illustrate and show Max G. pump the shotgun once fired as a way to further illustrate how poorly thought out this idea was and how he is quick to make poor decisions. this, in the end, due to his careless-ness, blows his finger off, though this is only foreshadowing to whats to come. in the next episode, Max G.'s poorly thought out decisions and ideas lands him to act aggressive and impulsive and ends up speaking his mind which drove BurnBot away. in this episode, all of the things you mentioned a few more shows his fleeting mental state but also shows us he kinda refuses to realise what he did is wrong or aat the very least take responsibility for it. In this episode and in the end of the last episode, max G. is going through the first stage of grief, denial. twords the end Max G. enters the second stage, anger. the next, if the pattern continues, we will see a maddened and slightly crazed Max G. continuing his 2nd stage and moving onto the 3rd stage, barganing. Max displaying the 5 stages of grief shows that Max G. is regretting his decision or atliest subcontiously and gives further illustration to max's mental state. Max is very good at telling stories and this plot really illustrates this. Im so far loving this and every decision Max takes with this. he is a very smart person and good at telling a story and i cant wait to see more.

This is my first hour watching this show properly, and I already like Goofball. He is the best (Burnbot's second). I can't describe it, but he is the perfect mix of sleaziness, comedy, annoying, sass, and of course....ghost! It's just so perfect. Also, his poof into the video skit was PRICELESS. I especially like how he at first freaked out when a gun was put to his face, but then he realized he was dead.

Has anybody else noticed that _Brain Dump_ is becoming more about Max's life drama and his interactions with Goofball more than what the video's title indicates the video is about? The quarrels between Max and Goofball started out as filler, but they're now the center focus, like it was revealing what was going on behind the scenes. At first, I thought Goofball was taking his goofiness a little too far and Max was simply overreacting because he thought Goofball was just being a dick to him. But Goofball seems to be more sensible than Max is lately; he's been trying to tell Max what a mess he's become, but he doesn't want to hear it because his ego is trying desperately to compensate for his obvious inferiority complex, which could have originated from him believing that he has accomplished nothing in his life, and he's been doing his _Brain Dump_ series as a way to get validation from his viewers so he can have a sense of worth and accomplishment. So, Max's anger may actually be his sadness being expressed as anger... And I don't blame Burnbot for leaving like that. Even though what Max said about what Burnbot was is technically correct, about being a machine, but she was _also_ an AI that just so happens to be an '80s TV set. I mean, she's been anthropomorphized to the point where she has the capability to expression emotions and act in a human manner. With Burnbot gone, and Max continuing to wallow in his self-pity and his refusal to even listen to what Goofball has to say, I do wonder what'll happen next. :)

I love your theory man. Really interesting! I do have a second theory to tack on. We can gauge how serious an opinion is by how much Goofball or self loathing occurs in the episode. in "The Apu I Know" we get less hijinks for the whole episode to better flesh out an opinion. Compare that to the Grinch episode and it's quite clear that isn't as important of an opinion. In a way, Brain Dump is a fun variety pack! I wonder when we'll hear more about the up and coming basketball player though...?
