The latter was welcomed, but not necessary; it certainly wasnt being argued by anyone, constructive or not. Ill probably write them a feedback, but i would love to get more information. The only guy that ive met whod defend gk2 to the death is incoherent, and others have been dismissive or downright show a lack of understanding as to why the gk2 is in a awkward spot (because they themselves dont even know why they dont use it, despite being unconscious of its problems)

I didn't even know there was a patch, but I figured out about the DRAK ammo nerf when I loaded into a game and there wasn't enough nitra for even 1 resupply in the first 3 chambers. This is an extremely rare occurrence, but I will forever be mentally scarred now by this ammo nerf because of this experience :D

@@XaelathRavenstorm I disagree, the m1000 has better single target damage and also obliterates grunt swarms with blowthrough + armor pierce mods, all without even needing overclocks. It is a bit hard to use, but it does make the Drak seem weak in comparison. I think they should have just buffed the GK2 instead Don't get me wrong, Drak with Impact Deflection or Aggressive venting is great to kill grunts, but the m1k so effective at any range that I can't justify bringing the Drak over the m1000 to an Elite Deep Dive, unless it's just to mix things up for fun.

I'm actually happy with stubby getting at least a small shift twords better electrocute chance on base. Now I can feel a bit better running other tier 1 mods with an electric build. Namely I may actually go for juicing the ammo instead to see if it feels more efficient in regards to ammo conservation on a few of my preferred overclocks.

I'm thinking the opposite. Better base proc chance means boosts to proc will stack even further. Even better proc chance means even better chance of electric arc. This is gonna turn Em Refire Booster into a straight-up AoE gun, and the one where you get way more ammo with reduced fire rate is gonna give you the best sustained AoE-per-resupply in the game.

@@BlissBatch the mod will still be at 50% total. The precent just got shifted so that the mod gives 5% less and the base gun has 5% more. Instead of 20%+30% it's now 25%+25%

imo they need to get the idea out of their heads that Mega Powersupply needed a nerf (it did though) and instead embrace the idea that the wave cooker is just a bad fuckin weapon and they need to give it more to work with than just thermal shock spam if they expect anyone to ever unironically pick a different overclock. Gamma Contamination would be good if it wasn't so horribly inconsistent with applying its effect and the same applies to Blistering Necrosis. Liquid Cooling System feels like it does basically nothing. Super Focusing Lens is a little too short range and relies on running a full damage build to perform decently. If they buffed Contagion transmitter then it could have a decent niche as a single target dps. Diffusion Ray isn't bad but you're either sacrificing too much damage or too much ammo by taking it over MPS. The problem is not Mega Powersupply is too strong it's that every other overclock is either too weak (Liquid Cooling System & Diffusion Ray), too restricted (Focusing Lens), or just performs well too inconsistently (Blistering Necrosis & Gamma Contamination). Just give the damn thing a little more ammo and tweak those chances for shit to do things up a notch.

yeah it seems like the devs are completely oblivious to how awful the CWC's ammo economy is. I checked using the karl site and the subata can easily hit 25% more total damage over the CWC despite being able to hit weakpoints for 240% damage.

The wave cooker ammo economy relies on it being pointed at lots of jellies/swarmers with wider lens upgrade imo. Spray for 5 ammo and the entire swarm in that general direction gone,even across the cave. Subata in the same situation will get you killed and spend way more than 5 ammo even if you survived it.the wave cooker will never be efficient for single targets like subata or the epc can,its the driller secondary of choice for swarmageddon missions

I don't know about you guys, but the CWC easily replaced the subata and the EPC in my driller builds, now i use driller for everything but mining misions... Elimination? Sludge blast and cooker with corrosion synergy its sooo good, for everything else just flamethrower and temp shock its really strong, imo its an excellent weapon far better than subata and epc

Necrosis changes seem to be absolutely NUTS in testing I did not seem to find any use for this clock before the patch, but now im thinking about non-temp shock cryo build with it, since it can boost ice spear or cooker damage itself for so much. Also found a lot of fun interactions with dreadnoughts, you could technically spawn a lot of necrosis spots on a boss bug, and then blow it up with C4 through several phases. Im not sure how damage transfers with it from explosions tho, but if it transfers WHOLE 850 DAMAGE C4 this is not okay. It doesnt seem to do so, but still i managed to kill a 70% hive guard in one C4 and several blisters, so thats fun. edit: I really want to test out this clock more and maybe even make a video, i just hope they wont change it too much

Taser Bolts still apply an additional, permanent version of their Proximity effect to robots they direct-hit. One Taser Bolt will EVENTUALLY kill a Nemesis by itself. This additional effect stacks with multiple direct-hits, so unloading 12 Tasers into a Nemesis means you get 12 permanent DOTs plus 12 temporary ones and it dies VERY quickly. I find 4 Tasers to be the sweet spot where the Nemesis will die fast enough and move slow enough for the duration that I don't really need to worry about it anymore and can save my ammo for other things.

@@AveragePearEnjoyer Solo maybe. In team, the patrol bots will most likely die before the 12-15 second duration is up anyway so the "permanent" dot doesn't matter, though the double damage is nice. Patrolers are pretty hard to hit with bolts as well in my experience, so you risk wasting a lot of ammo missing.

3:05 The fear buff was really significant. The best way to use it is in combination with electrical trail to hold them in place a bit and pair coil with either StunMinigun or StunHurricane. Fear/Stun combo very nicely and you can put Praets/Ward/Menace into an endless loop until they're dead. So you trade a small amount of damage for a pretty hefty amount of crowd control. Also if a praet gets it's breath off on you, combined with the damage resist mod and partial charge, you can cancel it in time to prevent your shield from breaking. It works every time, unlike stun. Oh lastly, I also love that the reliable fear makes it really easy to save my teammates who get swarmed on and it works 100% of the time. Takes a little thought and adjustment in practice but I think they did a good job making fear more competitive with stun.

Of all the little changes amd fixes, the dazzler module and catalyst ones were my fave. Comboing the two allows you to practically lock bugs on top of your platforms, as shooting the plats largens your AOE and applies the slow to all bugs caught in it. I haven't tested it super extensively and I'm no pro at the game, but it's a lot of fun.

I don't know but with driller main, we keep getting more CC and less single target. I love the pump with maxed particles and the effect it has on haz 5 teams, but I'd like to move on from plasma as my secondary even if terra forming with it is so much fun.

Also since most common bugs have a 50% fear resist that meant the old armskore t3 fear mod was really only effectively a 37.5 fear chance. Even if you don't care about the trail anti-synergy and just wanted pure cc it was still usually worse than the stun mod which always confused me, so I'm glad that this one got changed even if it's still generally not that useful

I've been using the Fear mod with the Hellfire OC all along, and it was very reliable at making Praetorians turn their weakpoint to me. Can't say I remember it failing as much as 62.5%. With that said, I find the radius buff to be more of a nerf now. Grunts that were on path to run into the lingering trail will run away from it now.

I generally don't like fear that much in general. its okay on the thunderhead with neurotoxin but the direction they run is hard to predict and they actually get a speed boost while fleeing. really easy to send a crowd of bugs at super speed straight towards your teammates. stun is a far superior crowd control effect, it makes the bugs easier to shoot, and easier to stay away from. if you want praets to show you their ass, try stunning them and then getting behind with the dash perk, and then stun them again as you unload.

@@AveragePearEnjoyer The stun is only 50% with a rather short duration, and the situation and distance doesn't always allow for running behind when there's bugs with the Praetorian. If it's a distance to the Praetorian it also impractical. Shooting more than one shot means I'm spending a lot of Coilgun ammo on a Praetorian, which isn't really worth it. One fear has actually proven very effective, and it sends bugs running into the trail who weren't on the path of doing so.

Also NTP with Suppressive Fire is more than just okay, it's absurdly broken, especially on modded haz levels. The fear wears off based on distance traveled instead of a timer, so in cases where the fear is paired with slowdown effects it can be really strong, and the neurotoxin effect slows down bugs. There's a lot of other things like how stun has a cooldown on enemies while fear (I believe) doesn't.

yeah, I run the exact same build. either take the t5 duration mod and the t2 special ammo mod and use regular bolts for lootbugs, wandering small single enemies, leeches, etc or take the t2 damage mod and the t5 magnetic shafts to up your normal bolt's damage output by quite a bit. I prefer the former because I am already using BOM to follow up the taser bolt and its hard to get full value out of both mag shafts and BOM when taking out a big boy. also the ammo and duration lets you actually use the taser bolts for some solid crowd control in a pinch. another great thing is that taser bolts can electrify oppressors and dreads, which pretty much no other secondary setup can do, making it so you can set up BOM with no questions asked. very nice.

@@Monkeyman12534 despite the health bar glowing yellow, the wave cooker doesn't actually do any weakpoint damage. shooting a weak point is exactly the same as shooting anywhere else. of course, you can still pop certain body parts like the goo bomber's sacs, brood nexus eyes, and i think blistering necrosis. i disagree with OP though, its a pretty good finely tuned CC weapon. but of course as a driller you might not want extra CC because your primaries typically do that job, so its not an easy choice over the other secondaries which is good.

Note that Volatile Impact Mixture for sludger is absolutely insane if you pair it with blistering necrosis. It pops blisters with charged shots every time no matter where you hit the enemy from what I can tell. It's pretty good single target damage and clears packs of praetorians at a ridiculous pace

The change to explode arrow is huge. It used to require extra damage to explode a grunt (or extra duration from OC/mod), which can be tricky when your target is in a large swarm. Now you can hardly messed up.

The blistering necrosis changes are so great for soloing dreadnauts now. By spawing 3 or 4 weakpoints on a twin you can drop a satchel to one-shot it. Sadly you can't one-shot the dreadnaut or hiveguard but you can still do half their hp.

Don't know if it'll be patched out but the 50% damage resist on coil gun is pretty nice. Not just because it helps prevent damage from bugs but it works for fall damage as well, unlike the autocannon. I'd like it even without that since there is no delay compared to the autocannon so with good reaction time you can prevent a lot of damage.

I'm surprised it was listed in the general bug fix notes, but up until this patch the Coilgun could not damage the Overseer, which was certainly an interesting thing to deal with @~@ , especially given how well Hellfire deals with turrets.

Super late comment but I figured I'd bring up the fear on Coilgun. While yeah, making the bugs run away doesn't necessarily sound great at first, it's become one of my favorite mods on Coilgun for it's team support utility. I've saved unaware allies from getting slash n' bashed by a wave coming up behind them, warded off Mactera Trijaw hordes, and gotten some clutch revives off, too. Not to mention it's saved my own hide more times than I can count.

The chemical bolt buff is nice for playing solo. I tried to use Chemical Bolt solo and lure some bugs onto the affected enemy, but by the time anyone else got near it, it would already wear off. It's probably not a big deal in multiplayer, because I'm sure a gunner would already kill the bug 2 seconds into the effect, but it should be a lot easier to pull off in a solo game at least.

Dynamic class roles are present throughout DRG and the nerf to the Drak hasn't really changed scout's contribution to horde clear in a pinch. Drak is still the best one at clearing trash bugs fast and that is where it has its utility.

The zhuk's conductive bullets change is weird, 3% seems extremely insignificant. The only explanation I could think of is that "1/3 extra damage" sounds a lot more appealing than "30% extra damage".

These numbers are understandable for automatic weapon like Zhukovs. You can't just add a bigger number for damage per shot to SMG that spits bullets like hell. I think, these buffs to Conductive bullets will give a better performance for Custom Casings and Gas Recycling (this one has buff too). Also, that would be a nice combo for recently buffed Electrifying Reload

The Drak-25 ammo nerf makes me honestly angry and disappointed at the developers. Honestly a stupid and a unfun change because i really liked that the Drak-25 had a lot of ammo.

I would like to understand how you get 498 damage with a power attack here 9:21. I have a formula that comes close but I'm not sure what is wrong. help?

Since that attack killed the enemy, it's not actually going to show the full damage-the damage numbers mod can only show as much damage as the HP the creature had left.

@@LazyMaybe Ah good to know! Although the value I was getting was lower so it can't possibly be correct lmao. I think I got the power attack damage components wrong I'm not sure.

@@shaunhayes3072 penalty is only 32. Just take mag size and you get that ammo back. I've never run out of mines before the rest of my team needs a resup esp. because the giant radius kills clumps of bugs that I've kited or slowed with coilgun

I'd recommend 3 round bursting with the explosive chemical rounds OC. Ironically it comes with less damage and less ammo but it's incredibly ammo efficient if you have it

why would you need that? It's currently the best engi primary. Maybe they should just buff all the OC's that are isn't the ECR or executioner.

@@Chronically_ChiII As a religious smart-rifle user, I think its OCs are actually in a pretty good place. Even Neuro-Lasso, as much as everyone loves to clown on it, can be seriously useful in the right hands. It comes with one of the strongest slowdown effects in the game numerically speaking, and you don’t even need to fire a single bullet to use it.

Damn, GSG is seriously trying to destroy Drak. At first, I thought it was a joke that GSG hates the Scout, but the more patches come out and the more I read about what they already did to my boy, I'm seriously starting to believe they are genuinely trying to ruin scout for everyone. What other possible explanation could there be for their blatant and complete refusal to buff GK2 in literally any way instead of nerfing all other weapons to the ground.

@@Chronically_ChiII I like the Drak, but I wouldn’t go that far. The M1k feels much more versatile to me. It easily hits all of the important grunt breakpoints (1 headshot, 2 normal body shots, and 1 focused body shot) and lots of others, it’s a hitscan weapon, and it comes with the option for super blowthrough rounds.

It is funny to see that people suggest that GK2 is underpowered, rather than thinking Drak and M1K is too poweful. You just can't stop using the OP things.

@@borgar_pizza_cat GK-2 is a bland, generic and boring Assault rifle type weapon with relatively weak stats. So i suggest that the devs should buff the GK-2 and stop nerfing the Drak-25.

@@Mestari1Gaming speaking about buffs for GK2 doesn't mean you don't need to nerf Drak-25. It got into the meta way too fast, so a bit of nerfs isn't that bad.

I didn't see it mentioned but with the longer duration for the explosive bolts, did the total dot damage increase or did they keep the total dot damage the same over the longer duration?

did the rewiring mod change reduce the amount of ammo you get back per overheat? it sounds like it regenerates ammo while its overheated so I don't know if the shorter time spent overheated makes the ammo refund less potent.

YES good patch for me because they basically just buffed a weapon I love to use on each class. I look forward to messing around more with Chem Bolts, I feel they have potential just need to figure out if there's some sort of playstyle thing I can do with them to justify using them over Pheramone's insane horde control and Taser's amazing Single target lock down potential. I might try to use hurricane as an absolute awful sniper type weapon. Jetfuel Homebrew OC, 11113 and see what I can do with it. Probaaaably gonna keep the burst pistol on tho for more ammo efficence primary type thing.

I have a question about your testing methods. You test all weapons on haz 5 with 4 player damage scaling, but Sandbox Utilities doesn't actually have any way of changing the player scaling. Is there a separate mod you're using, or are you using Cheat Engine like with disabling enemy AI?

I'm using custom difficulty to change enemy scaling, as well as prevent natural timed waves of enemies.

What script do you use with Custom difficulty that does both the haz 5 with 4 player hp scaling and also stops timed enemy spawns? I use the haz 5 carry script, but that doesn't stop the timed spawns.

Personally I'm a little sad about endothermic explosions change. The explosion is always nice but with the previous version you could save a scout from being swarmed by shooting whatever platform they were on without blowing it up. Now you can't. Like I said, just a personal thing.

The drak ammo changes are so bad, they seem to want to ruin the drak so much, like season 1 drak was much more balanced and season 2 drak is way weaker. Devs should undo the drak nerfs and buff the GK2 instead.

Still don't understand the nerf to Drak when M1k is still a better primary than Drak. And Gk2 is still way weaker than Drak. Basing nerfs and buffs off of purely just pickrates (which may have been the case from clues from their dev stream) is just.. a stupid way to go by it. I'd be fine with a Drak nerf, if they atleast gave us a reason we can understand. And not just a ''It got picked alot'' yeah I wonder why Drak, with a ton of versatility, customisation and alot of fun builds. While still being a better weapon than Gk2 balance wise, with a more ''fun'' way of shooting enemies. Is picked more than a boring, relatively weak, primary with little fun OCs to go about. Huh?

Velocity on Hurricane's T2 might be the nerf actually, because it's main advantage is giving you more agility to rockets over velocity, so you can mindlessly lead targets with your crosshair and don't have to point it ahead of enemy path. Also it is must have pick for plasma bursters, because they would be able to circle in to big enough target like a pretorian on their own, without touching the ground most of the time, since again, turn speed is much higher than velocity. So i don't think it is reasonable and well thought change, hurricane already very mediocre weapon and if i would transfer some of mod/OC stats to base kit it would be rate of fire. It desperately need 4 RoF on base weapon and +0.5 from OC and T3 mod.
