Finally someone that knows what they are talking about saying its better to cook your vegetables , i knew this from experience , when i eat raw i get bloated and dont feel good at all, my stomach hurts and my temples throb , but when i cook broccolli, or cabbage or whatever i feel great ! Tired of some people allways saying eat Raw, i will pass on that lol

At least in USA, frozen veg often has more nutrients than those we buy "fresh" on the shelves. They flash freeze them right after picking/processing, preserving nutrients which slowly leak away as they sit on the shelves in the produce section.

The reason most people resort to peeling fruits and vegetables is because the farmers use too much chemicals to prevent rot and bugs, to grow and bear perfect fruits in large amounts. Insecticides, fungicide and other chemicals as well as post harvest preservatives waxes then stick to the skin which do not wash away easily with just water. So we peel it off.

very good you mentioned about people washing veg in bleach and chemicals, same applies for utensils also, we have to wash in plant based medium otherwise cheimcals reach our body too... cooking actually spoil the nutrition of veg, later u told steaming... which is recommended ..pls beware of chopping on plastique board will do...we get a good nutrition from plastique too...dhanyavadham

I guess for the comparison between raw and cooked vegetables there is a mistake : the cooked spinach would have more calcium but we keep the same volume unit comparison (1 cup), or the cooked spinach shrink a lot, so one cooked spinach cup represents a lot of raw spinach, no ?
@jayparikh6139
@jayparikh6139 Күн бұрын
No sir, I'm a master's student of nutrition in USA and that's not how it works, 1 cup of raw vegetables equates to 1/2 cup of cooked vegetables. While i understand your point and u are right, 1 cup of raw spinach has 30mg of calcium, then 1 cup of cooked spinach should have 30x2 = 60mg right?.......but it's not, it is 245mg because the steaming or low heat sauté process increases the availability of calcium in spinach to absorb for our body Also the cooking process significantly reduces the amount of oxalic acid which in access can cause kidney stones. Hope this helps you!!

In the U.S., the soil hasn’t been used properly in decades. It is mineral deficient. Vegetables get their vitamins and minerals from the soil they’re grown in. Also, they are smothered in chemicals such as glyphosate, and chemicals in the water used to irrigate them. Those chemicals are found in the peels.

Are the nutrients from grains and vegetables are lost by open cooking compared to closing it with a lid while cooking. It is well known that the aroma and taste are saved by closing the food while cooking.
