I like how he basically says at the end, you will maximise your efforts if you do cardio on an empty stomach and do cardio after your weights due to the glycogen issue BUT just make sure you get the cardio done somehow as that’s most important. So many times trainers have told me it’s the end of the world if you don’t do things this way or that way and it’s been a wasted session etc. I love his positivity.

Depends your daily calorie index. To much cardio can break down and affect the synthesis of protein and recovery and hypertrophy and in some scenario you should not run daily, especially if your are gaining muscle and you are close to your fitness weight. That's why most of the runner develop a different kind of hypertrophy to a person that do exercise it in the gym, also runner usually have skinny legs, strong but not at the same level of a person that train in the gym. Running it's the best exercise for cardio.

Cardio is good for overall health for sure. I would say if your trying to build muscle and also wanna have a good and strong and healthy cardiovascular system you I would recommend low intensity cardio like walking. Doing a lot of running or cycling could potentially affect your recovery. But then again there are people who run a lot and lift weights and have really good physiques naturally. But I would say if your gonna do that, make sure you getting good sleep in and getting a good amount of calories unless your using intense cardio as a tool to lose weight.

Cardio is necessary to improve cardio. Strength training is necessary to improve strength. Eating and sleeping is necessary for living. Ur body adapts to stress from right stimulus and proper rest and food. Gain weight = more calories in vs out. Lose weight = more calories burned vs in. Cardio does use energy and help metabolism, but is not necessary for for bruning. A caloric deficit is. No matter how much or how little you do. It can help, but dont do it for the sole purpose of burning calories or else it becomes a chore as well as an unhealthy relationshipnwith food and exercize. Treat it as self care. Eat to live, stay healthy and inclue some enjoyment in both training and nutrition and dont fall for hype. Some people succeed despite what they do not because of it, and others say things to make money off of it regardless of if its true or not. God bless.

The moment I realized that cardio is primarily for your heart health and not for fat loss I begin to notice real changes in physique. When you use cardio for fat loss things will take sideways along the way. Diet + strength training + sleep = fat loss. The only time cardio burn fat is when the cardio put you in calorie deficit.
@MassaMainio
@MassaMainio 5 ай бұрын
You have absolutely zero idea what you’re talking about. You can do all the strength training in the world and you still won’t burn fat unless you’re on a calorie deficit. In fact. you burn more calories during cardio training than you do during resistance training. Optimally you do both, but just for losing fat it doesn’t matter one bit how you achieve calorie deficit as long as you do.
@maxbelfort9081

Now if he chooses to eat those 2000 calories with foods that will skyrocket insulin across the entire day then how the hell is he gonna lose fat? High insulin/blood sugar does not equal losing fat.

Stuff like hill sprints, burpees, Prowler, battle rope, etc. But in all honesty, it never did a ton for fat loss and ultimately effects recovery and sleep patterns. Trying to keep up the performance training and lifting was a losing battle. Now I do 20 min of max incline treadmill walking not holding on 3x per week after full body lifting sessions. Other than that I walk outdoors 1-2hrs daily just to be generally active. I feel so much better, I sleep way better, I'm stronger, and way leaner with a much higher BMR and maintenence calorie intake.
