I was working on a video project with Dolly... at one point she was just sitting there with her guitar during a break... She sang a few songs, very casually. Including "A Flower Don't Care Where It Grows." She has the purest and most wonderful voice ever. It was like hearing sweet cream flowing down from heaven. The presence of her actual, real, true voice in the room was beyond magical.

I did see her live in 1981 in Las Vegas before she got so thin. I was seated at a table next to the stage and I was just hyponotized by her talent and personality. Wonderful performance and band. She sang harmony with several men without music and I was so impressed at the perfection of her crystal clear voice and that she had written all the songs she sang. Some of the beads of her outfit popped off and she said, "That's what I get for trying to stuff 10 pounds of mud into a 5 pound sack!"

So amazing to watch Dolly's expressions as she sings. She breaks into a smile with the opening line 'sing your song sweet music man..'' then gets into character and into the emotion of the song and her face turns thoughtfully serious as she sings 'I'm through with you..:; Then Alison melts hearts into a puddles with 'you touched my soul with your beautiful song'. What a joy it must've been for Kenny to watch and listen to these two amazing women perform his song that he wrote. I wish these two would record this for an album!

'Trio' came out in 1987, and "Trio II' about 11 years later. Now earlier this year, almost 30 years after the first release, there's a 3CD set called 'The Trio Collection' that consists of digitally remastered versions of the first two albums, plus about 20 previously unreleased songs. Some are songs that weren't included in the previous two, and others are different versions of songs that were released - different harmony or different lead singer for example. Not exactly what you're asking for, sugarfit9 but still good value, I think.

Even though Ireland is the real home of country music, (only joking) it really is encouraging to see these two lovely singers bringing this IRISH export to a different level. And yes American country music is progressing very nicely indeed, keep up the good work (and before anyone starts ranting and raving against me here, take a good look at all the instruments that are used in country music, need I say more). A very nice performance by both. Don't forget that although there is a great age difference between the two, they have always had a great respect for each other. There has never been any rivarly between them. Alison credits herself as being one of Dolly's greatest admirers and Dolly in turn has returned the compliment. Years ago, in Alison's starting out years, Dolly gave her a lot of support. Later, Alison contrubuted to the tribute album etc. They have shared the stage dozens of times.
