Great video John, l like many others was inspired by pumping iron the movie seen it in the mid 80s this got me into bodybuilding, but Dorian was the guy the G.O.A.T got he got me into High intensity training l even went to Temple gym in the mid 90s for a session when working in Birmingham got a glimpse of Dorian going out he had just finished his workout, also l got to see him at a seminar in Newcastle around 96ish he was awesome, And now we have most of the old Temple gym training gear at Ultra Flex Gym in Durham just a few miles from were l live cant wait to go there and use the Lat pullover machine, l think Leroy-bails and Dorian part own the gym, Leroy and Bails are often there making training KZbin videos He still shouts "FIND THE HURT" SQUEEEEEZE IT" ONE MORE REP lol 💪💪

In the 0:27 mark I thought Dorian was doing the thing that Arnold did in the terminator when they first sent him from the future to the 80's in that ball of lightning LOL turns out he was stretching.

Pullover machine - If your gym doesn't have one a) beg the gym owner to get one in, b) find a gym that does have one c) buy your own and use it at home. You will never fully develop your lats without one.

I have begged my local gym owner to get a Nautilus pullover machine -he didn't know what it was.

@Old Skool Bodybuilding Routines Yes, those are good, I also tried doing pullovers with a ez curl bar which felt pretty good.
@anab0lic
@anab0lic 3 жыл бұрын
@Old Skool Bodybuilding Routines the trouble with DB pullovers is that resistance is only moving downwards, thus only the end of the movement has any worth. And cable pullovers you are limited by elbow lockout strength, which will quickly become a problem as more weight is required to keep growing the lats. Really cant get anywhere near your potential with these alternatives.
@anab0lic

@@redgreen6436 Sadly that is the case for most gyms I have been to.

@Popa yeah not all pullover machines are created equal that's for sure. We have the hammer strength plate loaded at my gym, which you can load a good amount of weight onto. One solution is to work one side at a time too if the stack doesn't go high enough. Used to own a nautilus one in my home gym years back, but sold it off as I found the elbow pad spacing to not really work for my build. Never could get the width and thickness I desired in my back until.i had regular access to one, you just can't isolate and take the the lats to failure properly without one.

Our biology teacher was into bodybuilding and showed the class the movie pumping iron. It was on from there . We all started working out and a select few took steroids too early and abused . They re not so good nowadays in our 50 s with health problems . I did a 16 week cycle at age 48 and it seemed to have some health benefits . Didn’t take much maybe 500-600/wk

Are you kidding me? This makes it obvious these guys are using drugs and training has nothing to do with their size and shape. My warm up was harder than his whole workout. This is why these guys generally lose all their size and weight when they stop using drugs. None of them train properly.

@@GTOberfest I give my chest workout. First exercise warm up. 145 x 50, medium grip, narrow grip and all grip to the end till hand touches the plate. How many sets is that? First real set. 225 x 40, close grip, medium grip then wide grip. The first grip is regular hand grip. The next is palm grip and next is reverse hand grip. That’s my first set. I do that increasing ten pounds all the way until my last set at 405lbs for 8 reps in all those different positions of width and hand grip. That’s just flat bench. There is still decline and incline bench. There is still dumbbell exercises and cable work. I trained five hours six days a week. I won three NPC shows and I was clean as a whistle. I was a heavy weight too. The caption picture is from the Natural Iron Man in LA. I won these shows in the Mecca of bodybuilding, SoCal. BTW my arms were bigger than Dorians my chest also was. I could never get in as good shape because I was clean. So in your words brother you dream on. Be blessed and at peace everyday.

@kimwarfield1587 If what you say is true its quite ridiculous that i have to explain this. First of all this is an exhibition workout for the live audience with cameras...obviously. Second, watch the Blood and Guts video for real training of a true champion. Bigger arms and chest mean nothing without proportion and body fat percentage. It's about presentation on stage in comparison with your competitors on the day of competition. DY was 310lbs at one point..still with visible abs...lord knows what measurements he had there.

@@GTOberfest I'm so delusional that I had sponsors like Muscle Media 2000. If you make a film of training it should be the real thing and even Dorian said that. You forget, I was around these guys all the time, were you? I even trained with the NABBA Mr. Universe and he couldn't get through one exercise for back when he trained with me before he said, "you are insane " and walked off never to be seen again. The same with John Couetry, 93' Mr. Cailifornia or Ernie Miller, also Mr. California. This is why I never had a training partner.
