Been binge watching Drama Time, and this story hit home for me. I've played FFXIV for the last 7 years and at this point I"ve learned to just keep my mouth shut other than a " o/ " in the beginning. Back when it was my first year playing I would PVP a lot with my boyfriend, this was 6 years ago and when PVP was very different. At the time I was always on my healer....One day we were in Shatter when a giant crystal spawned, I'm running on over with my whole group when we get flanked - most of my group makes it out and to the crystal but 1 person died. My PVP res (which didn't give you death debuff) was on cooldown for another like 4 minutes and so I left the dead person there and I went to the crystal to heal. I was ATTACKED by this person for being an awful healer and why the hell wouldn't I res them?! I told them my res was on cooldown and they should just spawn at camp to not get the res debuff and be doing less damage or taking more damage (this was when the debuff would -25% and then -50% ALL STATS).. they flipped out and told me I needed to come back and res them at this very moment.... All I typed was "Your dead ass < Alliance" and then muted them and continued on my night of PVP with my boyfriend, not even thinking about it. An hour later I was suspended for 24 hours because of vulgar language. LOL! I didn't know at the time I could fight this by trying to contact GMs, I was just devasted that this new game I loved I was suspended from. It ended up being 72 hours of suspension becuase it was a friday night....they don't deal with suspensions until Monday, lul. People are snowflakes I realized and I now just stay quiet because all it took was me saying the word ass to get a tick on my account.

It’s not even a real story. You couldn’t progress through Stormblood as a gunbreaker. Lol didn’t come out until the expansion after. And you couldn’t get a GB unless you had a Stormblood Max character

Yeah, to me this is more toxic than WOW. Everyone having to be fake nice and fake polite to appease people that don't learn, or go out of their way to play badly, or waste other people's time. I'm a really sensitive person but I prefer people just telling it to me straight than this policed pussy footing around/avoiding/ignoring issues. The swearing, banter, and then controversial topics in trade chat all added entertainment to the WOW experience for me. Maybe that's my working class upbringing though.

heres a good story: back in cata when I was 12 I used to take things from the guild bank like frostweave cloths and ore and I sold them to the vendors!!!! not even the auction house. I was like cool I can sell it for some gold. one day the guildies figured out I was doing this and they all came at me in chat and whispers. I realised my mistake and they didnt kick me. The gym guy reminds me of a guy at work. He's a professional cornhole player (for real), and he travels and stuff, which is all legit. But every time he comes back from a trip he tells everyone how he finished top 5 and got all these winnings (usually he says something over $2,500). He knows that the ACH posts the results on their Facebook page. But somehow he never expected someone else to look at the page. Someone realized he finished 76th and was knocked out in the first round when he was saying he won the tournament and brought home $8,000. There was no point to lie, people were already impressed that he has sponsors to throw bean bags in a hole. It's been known for like 6 months and no one has called him out yet. But everyone knows, and it's like the hottest drama at work, lol.

1st Story reminded of back in the late 90s/early 00s when I used to belong to a large HL1 league. There was a player whose forum name was sexkitten. Acted as most girls do, adding x on the end of posts, flirty ways of speaking, calling people hun etc.. no one really thought anything of it. A Couple of years down the line they post a confession. HE wasn't a girl after all, he was in fact a man, roughly 20 years older than he made out with a penchant for drinking snakebite. You know what, a small number of people (mainly in the clan he was in) were pissed but most of us couldn't give a toss. Didn't matter to us, changed his name on the forums, and we just went on with life as normal.

One time, I was setting up for a concert at a university, and we had some exchange students helping, one was from the UK. For the real Australian Story, i was actually living in Cairns early 2011, Smithfield area if anyone knows and yea i was just starting highschool, not even first month in fact when the cyclone hit. So many holes in the XIV story.. First flag is the Image provided.. It's of the Red Mage trainer NPC. If indeed it is the player themselves it's as low effort as you can make it. A serious RP player would not copy-paste an NPC look in-game. Especially the one that literally teaches them the job. Secondly is how he talks about the damage meter and the "rules" around it. Sure, it's not allowed to screenshot the numbers and hang said underperformer out to dry on some forum or whatnot. You can absolutely use them to gauge a players performance, just not as the main source of "evidence". To call someone out for incorrectly playing their job is a bit douchy, but not against TOS. If the player was indeed only sticking to melee abilities only as part of their RP, they would have a very obvious tag next to their characters name. RP players usually perform in packs, rarely interacting with or impeding standard players. You're not under any sort of obligation to play along with RP if you don't want to, so if that player would indeed not perform adequately because they simply chose not to, it's a simple votekick to have them replaced within a few seconds. The level of toxicity and, for some reason, backup from random of their erratic behavior doesn't really make sense. People are very supportive of "playing how you like" as long as it does not hinder the group. I've played the game for 4ish years now and never encountered that intense lvl of "let me play my game". Some ofc, but they've always been reasoned with.

I was tanking on a pld and she would take ages to get from one point to the other and when she died she would blame me for not tanking right when it was her not bothering to get out of telegraphs, luckily the rest of the players were decent so we beat it with us and a half of a healer.

Ive played XIV since the shittty 1.0 days an have never heard anyone refer to whispers or private messages as "in the pink" especially since you can change the chat text color to whatever you like, so not everyones is "pink". nor have I run into someone like that guy, nor had anyone get as bent as they supposedly did. Ive run thousands of random dungeons over the years. the fact it took five minutes is odd as well but Ive never been a person to run a stop watch in randos. neither in WoW nor XIV.
