I started using the Glucose Revolution hacks at the request of my Dr. to improve my energy and maybe lose weight. So glad I did. It’s been 3 weeks and I have more energy and have lost several pounds….no counting any macros or calories, just doing the vinegar before and eating in the order she suggests. It is so easy it feels effortless. It’s what I’ve always needed..

Jessie is absolutely right about French behaviors: I live near Paris and I remember an American neighbor who was really surprised that I go out to buy food daily in several different stores... At the time, I didn't know what to answer when he said that I was loosing my time (and he thought that it was a good example showing why people would be more productive in his country). But now I see that all the hours he thought he was saving were actually lost by his trying to stay fit whereas I have always been lean without doing any specific effort for that... About croissants, yes I like them and I am used to buying some, but not daily !!! Nobody here eats croissants daily ! This is the kind of food pleasures in our culture that we like to have maybe once a week : ask a baker what is the best day for selling croissants and he will tell you on the weekends, since then people enjoy having a special breakfast with their family or close friends... By the way, I had to teach my wife (which is not French) that we always must have meals together, that it is a very important rule here : my Dad was used to repeating every time someone wanted to eat alone : our house is not a kind of hotel ! Now I do the same with my daughters... And every one has to participate to the meal (one is dressing the table, another helps for cooking, a last one is cleaning after the meal). All meal must have an entrée, that is usually something raw ("crudité"). I guess this is how we can eat carbs and stay lean... Best regards from France, keep the great show running!

You guys make a very fun interview. You are both my idols. I have been with Dr. Gundry 8 years and I found Jessie a couple years ago and I thank you both for one (maybe top of my list) of my most rewarding days in my life. I am announcing to the world my first day off metformin. I have been diabetic for more than 40 years and if I had known years ago, what I have learned over the past 8 years it might have happened a lot sooner. But it has happened now. I am 85 and have left only one family member and a couple of friends -- only one diabetic -- so since I have nobody to tell, I thought I may as well tell everyone. I am so happy to see the two of you now, every timer I turn around. It really helps make my day. And I think I learn something new with each encounter. I am very grateful for everything I have gained just from having the two of you available to me. Thank you, thank you so very much. Jan Dullea

I also do intermittent fasting 16/8 or more daily except for a week prior my period as I followed Doc Mindy Pelz as well. Thank you both. I learned so much even after being type 2 diabetic and doing a lot of research. Have been eating a savory breakfast for quite awhile without knowing it. I have breakfast between 9 and 11am. Dinner around 6pm which is vegetable for half the plate and lean chicken or grass fed beef. Starch recently changed to farro/bulgar/hemp seeds/flax ground, etc. and maybe a bite of dark chocolate with berries or half of an apple (granny smith). Hoping this leads to better health. Now starting to incorporate a 20-30 minute walk. Any comments?

I had diabetes 10 years ago, caught it early, it took me 3,5-4 months to reverse it, never came back after that. I check my blood every year, all diabetes markers in optimal range. I eat anything I want but of course now I understand that I can’t have huge amounts of carbs without resting and generally I don’t eat junk foods/processed etc. It’s all about the insulin. You must give it time to come down. I had 3 meals with no snacks in between. Then it became too much and I cut down to 2, then 1 meal a day as my body switched to burning fat. I wasn’t hungry at all, 1 meal a day was plenty. I excluded all fruit except for limes, lemons, avocados and green kiwi once a week as a dessert. Or raspberries 100g as dessert once a week. All drinks - soda, soft drinks, juices no matter if they’re fresh or not. I drank only water and herbal teas such as green tea, chamomile tea and peppermint tea. Apple cider vinegar, lemon water with mint. Rarely used stevia drops without alcohol when I felt like sweets.(first two weeks were tough!) I had no processed foods, no candy, no sweets, no breads, no pastas or anything made from flour. I had veggies and a protein with healthy fats. You have to add healthy fats! Don’t go for lean meats like chicken breast, it will make you hungry, it will be hard to sustain the diet especially in the first couple of weeks. I had organic grass fed butter, but no dairy. My sugars from food were minimal. I had 1-2 cubes of dark chocolate and almond milk which had some naturally occurring sugars. I did have potato a couple of times a week, usually baked then cooled down then warmed up again with butter. So, very simple - veggies on a plate + protein (meat, chicken, fish, eggs, etc). Maybe a bit of organic mayo, fermented veggies like kimchi or sauerkraut. Spices are ok to use. + I took supplements to make the cells sensitive to insulin again. I took berberine, zinc, magnesium. My insulin was pretty bad, despite my strict diet, I had no changes in weight or symptoms for first 6 weeks. My sleep improved around week 4, but that was pretty much it. I was about to give up, then saw Jason Fungs lecture where he mentioned that some cases may take a while before there are any results. I decided to give it a few more weeks and on week 6, I just woke up one day feeling better and so much lighter. I felt like I lost a lot of weight just overnight. The next day I woke up feeling like I had lost more weight. I started losing so much weight so quickly that I actually added extra carbs into my diet because it was extreme and I needed it to slow down, I literally felt like I was deflating. 4 months later I had lost 26kg, my skin cleared up, my vision went back to normal, no more blurry vision even tho doctors told me it was ageing and there was nothing I could do, I had no idea it was the insulin resistance/diabetes side effect, so that was a nice surprise, my anxiety went away, I slept well, no more water retention and swollen feet/ankles, no more feeling hungry all the time, no more getting dizzy when trying to exercise (I did not exercise during my diet as I used to get too dizzy and felt like I was about to faint anytime I’d do any exercise even yoga). So you’re definitely on the right track! Don’t give up!

The family I lived with cooked with, mostly, jars of vegetables from shops. I did love the way they stayed at the table for hours, outside or inside the house. I did love the French bread, nothing like it! I also saw supermarkets for the first time, way ahead of UK, Carrefour. This was 1980 so way before your guest was probably born 😂 Great Podcast, I do have two of her books too ❤

Dr Gundry, would love to see what you eat daily on a plate , you talk about what you eat but never seen your meals in action

I'd love for Dr G to do cooking videos about what he is eating for the day. Maybe once a week so it's not too invasive in his life.

Dr. Gundry should have never gone on Dr. Mike's podcast....it was a setup, hatchet job from the first minute on! Thank you, Dr. G, you have given me my quality of life back!
@LynnsYouTube9 ай бұрын
Exactly! That was the rudest, most disrespectful "interview" I've ever seen. Dr Mike just showed his immaturity and lack of scientific curiosity for what is just being discovered. It showed that he hadn't read any of Dr G's books or watched more than a couple of minutes of the videos. It was even worse than when Dr G went on "The Doctors" TV show. Dr G is always so kind and gracious to people like that.

I had recently heard a report that some of the non-sugar sweeteners mess with your gut biome. It is hard to know which ones are the best. I have been using monk fruit/xyletol. Such an informative conversation. Thank you!

Monk fruit sugar is normally mixed with erythritol. Is that ok?

In the 50’s and 60’s , wasn’t alive then , but I have read they only ate fruit once or twice a week as parents would say too much sugar isn’t good for you. I am pretty much off fruit. 🍉 Fruit back in the day was a dessert. We need to eat IN SEASON.

But be very careful when taking vinegar. I ended up losing so much potassium (that's what doctor said) and experienced dizziness or out of balance. That what I found out when I went to Urgent Care. Unstable blood pressure and dizziness. After that I stop taking the "regular" apple vinegar. I hope this helps.

So the organic apple cider vinegar (with the "mother") can be a problem? How much is ok?
@SusanDavies-f6r8 ай бұрын
1-2 tablespoons is ok after that your over doing it: eat sensibly

Of course, every person is different! Listen to your body, it has a knack for telling you how it feels.

To stay aware and motivated, you could ask yourself every day: 'Do I want to help my body live? Or help it die? Then keep a 12 step Daily Journal of your keto/cnvr journey, beginning with: 1- Intro detailing WHY you want to do this. 2- How you feel about this being a new way of life. 3- List what you need to do to be successful. 4- What foods to have and what to avoid. 5- How you feel (felt) on the day of your decision. 6- Then a daily list of what you eat and most importantly, 7- What has changed and how you felt on that day you realised this. 8- What mistakes you made and 9- How you fixed them. {Be totally honest with yourself} and 10- Do a 7, then 30 day assessment and record this, stating everything that worked and what didn't and how you managed the first 7/30 days. Then do 90 days. 11- Refer to this journal whenever you get disheartened, to help you push through the hard stuff, to remind yourself what it was like in the beginning. To remind yourself why you are doing this. Then... 12- share this idea with others, to help them stick to the plan. x 👍💖🥓🥩💃

Also I have noticed for me as a female following limited fasting and focusing on alternating my foods and following the same practices you mentioned with lot of veggies at beginning, having bit of vinegar in my daily salads, and more seafood than red meats except when close to menstruating really helps. As a house wife no car and full time mom and no time to exercise this life style helps me and I stopped fasting and adding more season fruits limited and resistant starches that has helped so much with fertility. Funny thing is that summer is when body is more swollen but in the winter and spring im a bit more lean so when loosing weight for the summer no pain no game has never worked. I'm the gal that's always struggled to gain weight once I took over my health and lifestyle (when I turned 18). So everything you both speak about all have seem true for me I. The past 25 years
