I noticed a difference when I spoke the words...hearing myself put myself down was a game changer. I even gave myself heck one time..."that wasn't a nice thing to say...would you say that about someone else? NO! then don't talk about yourself that way". lol

Yes!!! And I have developed a strong boundary of how I let people talk to me. My thinking now is “if I don’t talk to my “self” that way anymore…I’m sure as heck not gonna let someone else!!! I just picture grown up me taking up for a little girl me, with someone who was scaring her and raising their voice and being hateful to her. Triggering her PTSD. Oh no!…back “your” self up! 😂✌🏼🥰

I heard somewhere that we are like the 5 closest people we interact with all the time. Surround yourself with good people. Luckily, I've learned that you can replace close people with good influences from the internet if you don't have this people in your life. Watching motivational videos and Dr. Cloud is already starting to change the thinking in my head. - Jay

When a negative voice is spoken in my head, I speak a preplanned positive statement out loud until that thought has passed. To me this is taking a thought captive. It was very instrumental in overcoming negative self talk. Now, I try to remember to speak to my self as I would a much loved pet. Hope this helps someone else

You are amazing Dr Cloud!! I heard you live in Minneapolis you said God has a dream for your life! And thought yea it’s a nightmare! Humor helps me cope! Gods turned a lot of my thinking around but I Still struggle. I was praying that God would help me heal my thoughts more. And then I found your channel Thank you also for making women and men feel equal here. The church and its men are the head of the house really puts women into thinking I don’t have a head now I guess he gets to decide. Maybe not in those words but that was the message. And I followed it. I thought that’s what a good Christian wife does submit. The husband is the head of the house. If that’s true then why the hell am I the one always cleaning it. 😆 I made myself small. And Critical thinking is just another way the enemy uses to try to keep me small. Sad & defeated. Nope!! I’m a fighter and I’m rising up & becoming who I was meant to be. And I’m so glad to be apart of this community.

These "voices" are demonic influences that have come in through sin. Repent and give your life to Jesus and he will give you a sound mind. He will restore you shed these dark spiritual attachments. Say the following prayer with a sincere heart: "Heavenly Father, if You are real please reveal yourself to me. I come to you In Jesus Name. I need you Lord. I admit that I am not right with you, but I need you in my life. I confess that I am sinner, and that I have sinned against you. I want to repent of all my sins and I humbly ask for your forgiveness Please have mercy on my soul, and help me become more Like you. Please give me the strength and your grace to Get through the challenges I am facing. Please Guide me in forgiving Myself and others, and show me how I can have a personal relationship with you. The bible says “who-ever shall call on the name of the Lord Shall be saved” So Jesus, I am calling on you in my hour of need. Please be my lord and saviour. Amen"

eeeeYup, it's just THAT easy. Sorry for the sarcasm but thanks to people like Dr. Cloud I no long feel so shamed for bringing on my own 'demonic influences'. Instead I see light at the end of the tunnel and that glow comes from the influence of Jesus' humble walk.
