One of the many reasons I love listening to you all. Your opinions, thoughts, and conversations. Hearing Adam talk about having to put down his dogs made me think of my ex-wife having to put down our dog. That dog helped me out so much with PTSD and he is missed. Keep up the great content guys.

Body dysmorphia is so hard to deal with. I've been tormented all my life because of my thick legs in comparison to my upper body. Family and friends always say I look great but I see myself fat even though my pants are the small size here in Spain. Love how real you are by admitting you suffered from that too! Thanks for the great show! Listening to you always changes my mood.

Your programs have been so great, especially the periodization and mixing of bilateral and unilateral movements. Sorry Sal and Justin, but Adam's become my favorite host. 😎 For a long time after I started watching he was my least favorite, but I've really come to appreciate the way he conveys his thoughts and what he's learned (sometimes Sal sounds a bit too condescending and like a salesperson) and he's usually quick to question and look at something from a different angle (Justin will immediately dismiss certain ideas like with the lab meat). I can appreciate his irreverence, too (though Doug probably usually doesn't). Everyone on the team has their strengths and weaknesses, but I gotta say that Adam's won me over. He gets a lot of bonus points for his approach to dadhood, too. 👍🏻

I’ve lost so much weight just making sure I get my protein for the day. Then I work on the carbs and healthy fats but protein is my main concern and I’ve lost 15 pounds and gained crazy muscle gains. I sissy love the idea of working out multiple times a day and getting better results.

Wow talk about the perfect episode. Not only did this help me was trying to cut on higher protein, was absolutely hilarious in between , all the way to the last live listener question which was perfect for my boys to listen to since they're in high school and their coaches have them coming in for weights in the morning plus they both have advanced weight as a class during school and then they're coming home and working out at home. This helped me so much and trying to communicate to them to not go quite so hard all the time in that splitting it up and not trying to kill yourself every workout is completely okay. Thank you so much for everything you guys do. MIND PUMP FOR LIFE!!

Once I started tracking and understanding macros my life has changed. Currently getting the amount of protein my body needed and the changes in my body and mood are amazing. I love the advice of eating Whole Foods, bcuz when I first started I got sucked into the packaged proteins and they were hell in my stomach. Once I changed to getting 90% of my protein from Whole Foods, it’s been life changing. Thank you for all the wisdom you all share.

I've recently read about a study/experiment (and I am trying to repeat this as I understood it) about obesity and calorie burn in a body etc. 1) Why do wild animals not get obese? From observation and experiments, it was concluded that apes often ignore even juicy berries and similar sugar rich foods in favor of protein rich foods. It seems they have a natural drive to do so. 2) Animals in a lab were fed low protein food and another group got protein enriched food. The protein group ate a lot less compared to the first one. By having to eat more, the first group became obese. 3) Through comparison it was found that the metabolism of people living in a western city is basically the same as nomadic people living in Africa and everyone else. It seems the human body is efficient at managing it's ressources, but the general caloric needs are the same independant of lifestyle. 4) This is the part that I am not sure, if I understood it correctly: It almost read as if it didnt even matter if you exercise or not, you still burn the same amount of calories...which sounds paradoxical. But simply assuming this was correct, that would mean that obesity entirely starts and ends via dietary changes. I think the recommendation at the end was 15% of your daily intake should be protein, followed by fiber and vegetables.

My problem with lab-grown meat is the lack of nutrients. Animals consuming vegetation produce mineral and nutrient dense meat that can be used as a main source of daily mineral consumption. The lack of blood-supplied meat reduces the nutrients within that piece of meat. We all know grass-fed beef is amazing for the body, you're essentially removing the grass-fed part of the beef.

From personal experience, have tried multiple diet plans, high carb, low carb, low fat, high volume, vegetarian, no sugar.... i can tell you high protein (moderate carbs) is the way to go. I am way way less hungry and get hungry less often, recover and perform better, have way less cravings and it has been overall great and have been loosing weight with minimal effort. Yes I restrict calories but dont restrict any particular food and prioritize protein. You emphasize meat a lot i this conversation but i have found i can only hit my target if i am more mindful of my snacks and side dishes, becasue usually at meal times meat or fish is always there, it is the rest that is lacking. For someone struggling to meet their protein goals i would say look at your snacks and beware of any processed products that says 'high protein' - more often than not they are not high protein

From understanding they will still need to use fetal bovine serum to grow the cells to make lab grown meat. The FBS is derived from cow fetuses. This is what is currently used to stem cells or any living cell. I think there are potentially different media that don't contain FBS but the cells don't grow as well in it.

Re: "Unintended consequences" hypothesis comment. That was a brilliant question re: the effects of lab meat on the animals farmed by the various meat industries. 🤔 Id like to take that question a step further and apply it to another era. Instead of imaging a world in the future, let's rewind history to the "post-Depression/ pre-mass production (of processed foods on the shelves of grocery stores across the country) and imagine asking the same question. I'm sure the conglomerates thought they were doing a good thing by stocking the shelves with super cheap, calorie-dense foods loaded with salt, sugars, and modified fats to prolong the shelf life. Even low income families could keep their pantries full with the abundance of processed food available. I'm sure no one even guessed or intended the resulting epidemics of obesity, diabetes, high-cholestetol, and hypertension that would come from it. Imagine if they had only asked the same question to consider the unintended consequences that moght cone from this innovative change to the industry.

When you say high protein diet, do you still follow the 1g / 1 lb body weight for the healthy weighted person?! Example- I weigh 123 lbs but prefer to consume 175 ish G protein daily while eating 2000 ish calories … Do you guys ever Rec that high of protein for clients ?! Why / why not !! Thanks for sharing current studies!! Love this show!

Omg so I just started focusing on more protein. I am so full now but that's a good thing. I used to struggle alot cause I was always hungry. 😅

The struggle is so real with vegan protein 😅, but it’s possible to get enough without shakes if you plan it right 😊

I'm surprised his deadlift is so light being a male at his weight. He must have disadvantageous leverages or insufficient programming. I wonder if his strength programming is consistent as far as adding weight to the bar is concerned. I'm a 41 year old female weighing in at 180 and I've been consistently training for strength for maybe a couple of years now and his deadlift is just slightly less than mine. Being a male at his weight, I'm willing to bet that if he gets good consistent strength training, not hypertrophy cuz it sounds like that's what he mostly does, his deadlift will at least be in the 500s in no time. The key like you guys said is not to wait until you feel bad. I add roaming hypertrophy days to address my weakness, do active recovery/restorative/rehab type stuff after every other workout, and deload BEFORE there's too much fatigue and I haven't had to stop linear progression yet. You have to really be in tune with your body to do these things though.

I have friends that are overweight and try ever diet. I keep telling them to just increase protein and stop eating junk food... also stop drinking soda and increase water intake. Screw all the fad diets just keep it simple. I am forwarding this video to them now. Hopefully , this will wake them up a bit.
