This was tricky to put together, and I know a whole heck of a lot of stuff is left out, but I wanted a foundation to build off of.

@JustCozItsMe 7 жыл бұрын
I know youre going to expand on this but few things real quick. The Chimer are gone by the 2nd Era, they are turned into the Dunmer,or dark elves. The 2nd thing is that Mer and Human are racial categories, so whenever you bring up a human race they are just as diverse as the Elves so whether the human race is Nord like the ones who fought the snow elves, Redguard who came from another continent to the desert, Breton who are humans that have nearly as much elf blood as human blood, and theres more like imperials and then theres the races players cant choose... To sum up that sentence, the names of the human races are as important as the races of Elves. This last one you seem to already know about but Elder Scrolls lore is extremely convoluted, theres conflicting reports everywhere because of so much. Theres things that the people(in Elder scrolls) have accepted as fact that can be traced back to badly researched books by writers who couldnt find the path to the right answers. Theres rival religions looking to rewrite each others history, like Talos as the most recent event like that. Then theres groups that have sought to hide history and benefit from it. I actually consider that aspect of the lore of the Elder Scrolls one of the most realistic parts of their world, more extreme than most of the real worlds history but its very similar in some aspects. Ive typed more than I meant to. Looking forward to more! Happy that you are covering this series.

There are some inaccuracies in the video but it'd be hard to not get something wrong in a franchise history like Elder Scrolls, between the fact that most of the information is based on in-game books that could be biased or flat out lies and the fact that certain events (like the dragon break) are inherently confusing due to magical warping of time and probability. Like the vid said, It's a convoluted mess.

Coroections: 1. Saint Alessia was the first leader of Men, given the Red Diamond by Akatosh 2. Hammerfell was first inhabited by Dwemer, the leader of whom had thrown the artifact Volendrung, which landed in the desert (hence the name) 3. It was Azura, a Daedra, who sent the Nerevarine to stop Dagoth Ur, not the Aedra, as Azura, Boethiah, and Mephala are the three Daedra the Chimer originally worshipped 4. Trinimac slew Lorkhan, but was eaten (somehow...) by Boethiah (or Mephala, can't remember which) and shat out, leaving behind Malacath, Daedric Prince of the Reviled, perhaps the most honorable of Daedra 5. The Thalmor banned worship of Talos because the Elvish races saw him as a murderer, slaughtering innocents for an empire destined to collapse. Think of it like Hitler suddenly being worshipped as part of your pantheon. Not. Cool 6. More of a personal nitpick than a correction, but how could you gloss over the names of the three factions in the Three Banners War, or the fact that the Planemeld was going on as well?

Um got few parts wrong. Starters as far as lore is concerned the beast aces Khajiits and Argonians where the first inhabitants of Tamerial. The stars and even the sun it self are not blood of Anu or Paddama but holes that where created when Magnus, The Magnagee and the Daedra left the mortal realm of Nirn during Lorkhans plans of creation. Lorkhan's plans not Anu's and time was created when Akatosh came into existence hence why he is know as the dragon god of time. Sorry but if you are gonna make lore videos about The Elder Scrolls do some research. Like 3 minutes in is when I left this video with how inaccurate it is.

ummm sorry but you got it wrong, tamriel is NOT the continent of the elves. the beast races were the first inhabitants of tamriel, the elves came from aldmeris, and they migrated to tamriel and drove the beast races who before the elves came,, roamed all of tamriel freely, to the harsh southern parts of tamriel now known as elsweyr and argonia.

The thing is I'm fairly certain Aldmeris was the continent of tamreil it was basically all but destroyed in the wars that followed the return of the wandering ehlnofey to tamreil. the stories passed down of the elves origins became aldmeris. I think the Dwemer may have found some lore or magic from that period as that may explain how they advanced so quickly and learned tonal architecture. If by beast races you mean khajiit and argonians then you are very wrong about their origin. as the kahjit were basically elves that worshiped asura and were blessed/ changed by her into the various forms of the kahjiit. The Argonians on the other hand were created by the sentient Hist trees (hence by argonian racial ability in skyrim Hist skin)

I think the Nerevarine was reincarnated by Azura, a Daedric Prince and, and not the Aedra, as she had cursed the Tribunal after their treason for using the tools of Kragenac and turning themselves into godlike beings. May be wrong though, Elder Scrolls lore is wicked convoluted. Curious to see how you tackle all the bits of lore that conflict with one another.

wintersnoob nowhere but skyrim was subjugated by dragons. Alduin was fought by the Nords on the throat of the world, this was before the empire because Nords made the empire with voices which they gained from the dragon war, and it was after Atmora froze over because the Nords at the time saw skyrim as home and had been living there for some time.

@nickolausafon5458
@nickolausafon5458 5 жыл бұрын
I've heard variations of the creation of the Elder Scrolls universe. This seems different from the common fundamental "origins myth" but it is somewhat believable. Even so, I believe it was a bit different, canonically. The spirits were born of the positive primordial force and the negative one wants to destroy the light energy. The Divines came about as pure beings but Lorkhan was deceived into creating a void or neutral universe that'd destroy the power of the light spirits. He did and those trapped in this void became The Divines and became weakened, sacrificing their forms to be physical worlds. Those that fled into Aetherius became the Magne Ge and followed Magnus, their shepherd. Those who fell into the negative verse below became corrupted and became Daedra. Other Daedra would be made or corrupted later. The Aedra that settled in the void became two races - Mer (elves) who followed Auriel and wanted to restore their divine power and Men who followed Lorkhan and were intrinsically afraid of magic and Dark Force. The other sentients were Beast Folk likely mutated from animals who came into contact with magical, divine or Daedric influence.

Dude you know that Tiber comes from the name of the Roman Emperor Tiberius and Septim means Seventh in German (fem.), so anything like Uriel Septim the Seventh is a redundancy.

Bethesda is the best game maker ever obviously with a game this complex there will be bugs but fallout 4 and since have disappointed me because of how they focus more on gameplay rather than the rpg elements of the game and give us less choice. I really hope the next game they make will be more like oblivion or fallout 3 full of captivating story and intriguing characters in a really fucked up fantasy world that sucks us in for hours.

Ok but didn’t Anus blood became the Aedra? Since the stars are holes in the fabric of the Aurbus created when Magnus and the Magna-Ge fled the creation of the mortal world after the debacle with Lorkhan.

I just want to say, I’ve seen A LOT of Elder scrolls videos, and your collection of videos are by far the best. There is something simply all encompassing and detailed about your explanations that turn the insanely complex world of Elder Scrolls into an easily understandable package. There’s no cheesy stories read from an in game book, or overcompensating vocabulary within your descriptions. Your videos trim all the FAT from the steak and give me exactly what I want. Beautiful elder scrolls visuals, and straightforward summaries. So thank you.

KUDOS on this well narrated video! This ranks on the same plane as ShoddyCast's TES lore series IMO. I really loved this rendition of the Creation Myth via the Children of Anaud. Especially since the Imperial Library/in game lore written about this can be challenging to read for some fan boys. I can totally see your series of TES lore videos as content for an incredibly intensive lore mod. One which would be RPG in game in form of a mod like Immersive College of Winterhold aka ICW. ICW basically revamps the Mages College from the vanilla game. It adds highly immersive elements like scheduled Oblivion theme styled NPC lectures (one of which your PC must attend as part of this mods RP injection into the Mage College vanilla quests). It would be great if ICW could be updated to include this 13 min lecture (done over 5 game days) at the College. Perhaps even add side quests to future lectures which would have the PC (and/or other NPC mages) explore Skyrim for artifacts. Much the way the vanilla game and ICW did. Anyhow, TERRIFIC job on the visual interpretation of the story of Creation. I'm a bookworm, so love reading the ingame books. But this version is extremely insightful for new TES gamers (or the more adventurous TES gamers who aren't the bookworm type) :p

When you discussed the aedra, deadra and stars. When beings were born from the blood they were neither the aedra or deadra. One of the beings named Lorkan tricked the other beings into repairing nirn secretly draining everyones power. One of the beings(don't know the name) figured it out and escaped through the realm to oblivion creating the sun. When some of the others realized that their power was being drained they too escaped to oblivion to keep their powers and created the stars. Those beings that stayed and sacrificed their powers to the creation of nirn the elves named them aedra meaning "our ancestors" and those who escaped where known as deadra meaning "not our ancestors". There is more details such as that the light of the stars is energy from the ethereal realm seaping into the mortal realm.

No, the ones who escaped were the Magna Ge, the Daedra were a completely different group of beings. Meridia and Malacath used to be Aedra but they are the exception not the rule.

Your video was really nice, but what about Saint Alessia? Reman Cyroodil and the Akaviir Invasion? It's fine if you want to skip complex matters such as the Numidium, but you didn't even mentioned humans came from Atmora. I think there is some information you let slip that would bring so much depth into the issue.

I remember some daedra prince, I think it was the one of sickness, talking about there being nine divines and not eight. But yet again it is daedra and they tend to try to trick "mortals", But if he is not living then Talos is divine.

Wait I just realized something... In Skyrim you get to choose which side of the civil war to side on, leading to its success (which was really cool so I hope they add something like that in ES6). Now the winning of which side will go down as the official lore?

you also completely left out the race of humans known as the needs they predated the existence of the Nords in Tamriel in fact it's from the fam we get the Imperial race of humans when the elves first encountered the needs they were a preliterate species and work quickly enslaved along with the Beast Folk
