All the guys are attracted to her, her fondness for Chris gets him a place at the popular kids' table, and to fit in, Chris pretends to be attracted to her to. Then some of Chris' classmates see Ms. Pewterschmidt hiding Chris in her car as she drives off after school, and in short order the whole student body thinks they're having sex, which makes Chris _even more_ popular, so he plays along while Lois remains unaware what the students think. The jokes _here_ include: that it was only the _male_ cheerleaders who decorated Chris' locker to celebrate his "score"; that the decorations don't involve sex at all; that they chose a remarkably _sophisticated_ and _elegant_ style; and that Chris _genuinely_ seems to appreciate it, which is unexpected given his typical interests and attitudes.
