Hahah good memories here I made hats like this in the late 19870's and 1980's , enjoyed your 3 vidoes , great happpy meomories , i made mine in doible yarn for a firmer material nd a larger hook, annd it was always different when I moved my brim abput. i truly enjoyed my hats. Great to see hats made by others and i used plastic wires tp ancor my hats of mrims where I choose to use them. Keep enjoying your craft👍🏻

Hi, you can use this pattern for a baby, you need to increase the top of the hat until its is just a bit smaller than the circumference, then continue with the sides of the hat

I found this part interesting and rather simple but I wanted to mention that also not just hair bands could be used but paper clips could be used to they're not as sharp as pins and they can be folded or unfolded if necessary

I am a fan, I think your talent for creating is amazing and thank you for sharing it with the world. I too would love to have a written pattern. I know it is hard enough to create it, but then to write it down in pattern format is the worst of it, but PLEASE could you post the pattern. I have such a bad memory and so I print everything place it in a binder and then when I get stuck I refer back to tutorials.

Hi I have question if I use 2 strands of worsted weight yarn will I still use a 4.5 hook? Also I would like to add a strip before the brim, where should I start and stop at? Thank you!
@CrochetwithClare9 жыл бұрын
Hello GixxerRider101 I would use 1 strand of worsted weight yarn and the 4.5mm hook, if you wanted to use the 2 strands i would use a 5.5mm or 6mm hook. as long as you get tight tension you are good to go I would stop short of the length you are after, add the strip and then continue with the brim

Hi there. I am in the US and my hook sizes are only even numbers, i.e. G hook is 4.0 mm and H hook is 5.0 mm, so if I am using size 4 worsted weight yarn, would I use only one strand and which hook? Thanks.
@CrochetwithClare8 жыл бұрын
+Dale Strickland Hello, I would use a hook to give you reallly tight tension, I think a G hook would do that with worsted weight yarn
@marynovacek9 жыл бұрын
I'm in the US. I really enjoy all your videos and have made several bags and a few other things. I was wondering if you could use the Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn? It is listed as Medium #4. How many yards of yarn are in your skeins? If I can use the cotton yarn I need an idea of how much I need ti get. Thanks in advance and for all your tutorials.
@CrochetwithClare9 жыл бұрын
Mary Novacek Hello, to tell you the truth i am not sure if the cotton yarn will work for this project, I have only used the acrylic yarn. You will need tight tension with any yarn that you use for this hat
@marynovacek9 жыл бұрын
Ok, thanks very much. I did try it with cotton but it was very difficult to work with and after several attempts I gave up. I really love your way of teaching. I am working on coasters and placemats at the moment and enjoying doing them. Thanks again.
