I have always heard of the pan you were using as a ‘saucepan’ and the other one that your hubby held up is a ‘frying pan’. Mother always told me: when you fry anything you put it in a pan where the sides are not as high…so things will fry better, such as meat , potatoes, squash, etc. The pan you use to boil potatoes or squash or to make a sauce, such as a BBQ Sauce, you use a pan where the sides are higher up, so things won’t boil over as much! That’s also what my Homemaking Teacher told us in 9th Grade!! Man, that’s been a long time ago! I’m almost 70 years young (will be in 4 months), so it’s been a long time since I was 14-15 years & in the 9th Grade! lol I love your recipes! Thank you for everything! NORMA COLLINS FROM TEXAS

"Saucepans tend to cause confusion because they have high sides like a pot, but they also have one handle like a pan. So is a saucepan considered a pot or a pan? The answer is that a saucepan can be both, even though its best application is when used as a pan for reducing sauces." - Web restaurant I like to use the example of making spaghetti because I put pasta sauce in a saucepan, and I boil water for the pasta in a pot(I use a stockpot which has smaller handles on each side for ease of lifting a lot more weight) 😊 Thank you for all the fantastic meal ideas and recipes!
@FeedingtheByrds Жыл бұрын
Best explanation!!
@comiketiger Жыл бұрын
This is explained very well. You can call it both as she said. When you purchase separately they are likely called sauce pan. To add to the confusion some fry pans are called saute pan. There may me some difference between then I am ignorant about. I like this guy! 🙂 but I will have to disagree, I prefer the breast! (if cooked right!)

I love watching you. I just smile everytime you say, it calls for pepper but I don't have any, you need to cover with foil but I don't have any, I need to put a lid on this pot but I don't have one. That is everytime I cook. I am always missing an ingredient. I'm love when your husband helps. The shocked look on his face when you showed him a sauce pan. The only pan my husband used was the cast iron fry pan. He made EVERYTHING in it.

New sub. I love how you cook because you cook like I do by guestimation and making what your family loves. However, hubs and I went on WW 1 Jan 22 and we both lost 35 pounds. I took my cooking knowledge (like yours) and skinnied it down. Could you do more recipes showing air fryers and FF or skinnier ingredients? Or just provide leaner options? I love how you suggest turkey or ff ingredients. I guess I just need to wrap my head around your methods and skinny them down. The air fryer and spray olive oil saved us! Please talk about how to use rice or potatoes over noodles. Love your content! I also noticed, that someone (probably your husband) doesn't like onions. lol Great work-around with the onion powder!
