Optics are a much better analogy for the law of diminishing returns. A $1,000 scope maybe 10 times better than a $100 scope, but a $2,000 scope is not twice as good as a $1,000 scope. That is a true diminishing return

So did I. I bought a $2200 AR-15 a few years ago, after having had started with a used $450 one. Obviously the more expensive one was of higher quality, perhaps would last longer, Idk. Not sure justifying sub moa vs. 2 inch groups at 100 yards is worth it. I was originally taught to hit a 12” paper plate at 100 yards, if you even are a lousy marksman or have a cheap gun if your hitting within a 12” circle your target has been put down. I would prefer 3 rifles to only 1

Eric, a perfect example of spending a thousand plus dollars on upgrading a gun that didn't return on performance was when you and your blinged-out high dollar customized 10/22 was beaten by a stock Cricket.

I bought a Ruger 10/22 some years ago. I upgraded everything, only things left from Ruger is the receiver and magazines. By the time I added all the KIDD parts and Magpul stock, I have a very nice and expensive 10/22. I could have just built the same rifle from KIDD to begin with, for less. I had a pile of parts left, from the original Ruger, so I bought a Brownells receiver. Buy it "correct" in the beginning, if possible. Like, don't buy a new shotgun and have to replace the stocks and the barrel if you want to make a SBS. Maybe there's an existing SBS, that's used, and cheaper.

Ammo prices / availability is getting much better. My advice is ,unless you absolutely NEED ammo, to wait it out. Online prices are getting better and big box outdoor stores are having stock weekly if not daily. At Bass Pro I seen most popular calibers each time I was there the past week. They even had primers and projectiles and a pretty good selection. Academy just had dang near every common cartridge as well. This was up in the day and they still had bulk packs of 7.62x39, 22lr, 9mm, 40, 223 and 5.56. Powder is coming in stock online now too.

I forgot that the leader is a dictator. Well now at least that’s true. How many people are in Congress? 100 senators 435 house members. Anything the man did he was demonized. Now you got someone saying he is going after conservatives, 2A supporters, and people who believe in the constitution. The term they are using to demonize is white supremaist (didn’t spell right because they are so few and far between i don’t fear them). So if you’re black and believe in 2a, family, god you are a white supremasist in there eyes. And you are the greatest threat and threatened to have nukes used against you. Not chyna,Ms13, border collapsing, medical tyranny, not attack on us independence and energy, not the media propagandizing everyone constantly, not the globalist pushing agenda 2030 or the great reset. Not Bill gates, Klaus Scwab, The Davos group, Dr. Falsey, george soros, ted turner, david rockefeller, Warren Buffett or Oprah calling for population control and reduction. The only threat to the powers that be are the american people. Have you called your mayor governor or sat in on a school board meeting? Got to speak up and let your voice be heard.

My take on diminishing returns is usually financial. I can't exactly remember the cost break down but it's something like "it costs %50 of investment to get %80-90 performance. It then costs another %10 investment for only %1 improvement from there" For example, if it costs $1000 to buy a perfectly good item like a 1 MOA gun, it will more than likely cost half of that to increase its ability. So a 500 investment into a new barrel, action work, trigger, etc will now make that 1 MOA gun a 0.5 MOA gun. You can sort of see it in the AR world. Get a basic AR like the mp15 from s&w for 5-600. Now if you want to make it more accurate, you are dropping 2-500 on a barrel, 1-300 on a free float and 100-300 on a trigger. Your 5-600 AR now cost 9-1500 for going from 2-4 MOA to potentially sub MOA.

Diminishing returns has nothing to do with materials and scareity like the first example. Example would be like if you spent 10k on upgrading a car you get 200 more horsepower. But spending 20k will get you 250 more horsepower. Doubleing the input does not mean doubleing the output.

It's cool to trick a rifle out like you want. It's kinda like modding the shit out of a car too though, whereas you don't always get your investment back out of the "upgrades" or have trouble selling the piece unless you find someone who wants it just like you did.
@J.sh_CDN
@J.sh_CDN 3 жыл бұрын
That's why you always keep your replaced parts. Things that can easily be re-replace go back on the car at sale time, and the parts get sold separately! Also, a modded up car is a big red flag, no idea how well they actually did the mods, and probably they bagged the car too.

How long it takes for the recoil pulse to happen in terms of time compared to total recoil makes a difference. 28ft-lbs. that happens over a longer period of time will not feel as bad as 24ft-lbs or recoil that happens over half the amount of time. It is a difference between it feeling like a long heavy push versus it feeling like a sharp kick to the shoulder by a horse. Total recoil does not matter as much as the time it takes for that recoil pulse to happen.

I've always heard that 45-70 is like that - it's a long burn. Literally its differnece between 'horsepower' or kilowatts which express 'work' and torque, which measures force and has no time dimension - hence you can have 'torque multiplication' with greater gearing, but not horsepower multiplication with gearing.

why a brace? the gun is already registered as nfa with he suppressor, just make it a sbr? Does that stock fit standard on the charger pistol and have a real rifle stock? i would never mount it of course unless barrys' (rest in peace barry) zombie apocalypse happened.

I find that guns, optics , and definitely ammunition are not diminishing. Not in Jacksonville Florida. Almost double in price for most items.

That 1911 looks nice, but i have a hard time with the extractor, its probably less likely to break, but it looks weird

Diminishing Return could also mean loss of value of initial investment, such as once a product is unboxed the appraisal value diminishes. Also, production anmaßen leads to quality decline.

I think the 9.3 feels like less because it’s more of a push over a longer stretch of time. Where as the 300 win mag you get it all at once. In other words Eric you probably perceive all the recoil almost instantly with the win mag vs a long shove from the 9.3 I’ll take the shove too.
