I'm thrilled to bring you another empowering episode of Women of Impact. This time, we're diving into a topic that might just make you blush - how to have amazing sex and boost your fun in the bedroom. But guess what? The secret isn't between the sheets or new positions; it's in your hormones!
Join me as I sit down with Dr. Mindy Pelz, as we uncover the superpower of your menstrual cycle. We're unlocking secrets to using your hormones to your advantage for mind-blowing sex and even more mind-blowing success.
Yes, you've heard it right, ladies! Your cycle has everything to do with your libido, connection, motivation, and even the way you look.
We'll explore why women are twice as likely to find sex boring and how we can shift this narrative. We'll delve into understanding our hormones and using them to strengthen our relationships. We'll discuss how to teach your partner to get you in the mood, starting right from breakfast (because foreplay starts way earlier than you think!).
And here's the kicker: men get testosterone every 15 minutes, while we get it once for 5 days out of the month. How do we navigate this and is this a huge disadvantage for us? Listen up to find out!
Mindy is also going to tackle some never-before-discussed conversations about women's hormones that will give you a “home” team advantage. Understanding when your confidence will peak, and how your own hormones and his hormones can coexist is the ultimate GAME CHANGER.

Great video. The title is not giving it credit where it's due. Would have had more thousands of views by now. Can title be revised to give it due attention that can attract more views from women of different status, relationship-wise? Nuns, single and not searching, widowed and not searching, divorced and traumatized hence not searching for relationships, etc. The information is mind-blowing and helpful. Lisa you are a blessing to this generation. Great interviewer!! Thank you all the way from Africa.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💓This is THE conversation.....I know it's my demographic right now but women in their 40s, 50s, 60s need to know IT IS NOT ALL DRIED UP AND OVER. We are facing different challenges in this age- emotionally, physically, mentally. We will NOT be pushed aside as deemed as "over". I am 50 and having the best sex of my life. Please to all women out there....go find the help you need and do not be quiet or complacent until you feel good...thank you to Lisa and Dr. Mindy...❤🧡💛

Can you imagine since the beginning of time how many women were let go at jobs or from relationships because someone thought they were too moody, or compared them to other more cheery people when hormones were the cause of the behavior (not smiling, not laughing, not thinking a gross joke was funny and faking that it was). Another leg up on women that men don’t have to deal with.

The major thing us older women can do is manage stress and eat right. When you hit menopause, the adrenals are supposed to take over for the ovaries. If you keep your adrenals constantly working their poor little selves to the bone because that guy cut you off, or a coworker made a comment that didn't sit right, or your teenage son is moody, well how are they supposed to also keep working hard to produce hormones once the ovaries retire? I find that premenopause has been a walk in the park for me because i eat right, and im never stressed. I wouldn't even know i was starting this next chapter if it hadn't been for the fact that my periods became very light and only last a day, which made me see my doctor. In fact, my libido went through the roof the last year, much higher than in my 20s, so diet and stress management can change your life

I have been following Dr. Mindy's wisdom for awhile. It's so amazing that we have a platform today that women can learn. Thank you for bringing awareness to these issues that EVERY biological woman will go through at some point in her life. The most important part is educating ourselves so that we know what to do and that there are options.

I had a boyfriend for a lengthy time that was brilliantly wise on this subject. He said” Making love starts the second the last love making session ends!” We could not get enough of each other for years. Something far different than any of that was the reason we had to part ways. He spent time giving me attention, little pats here and there, etc, etc!

I was literally almost about to start the pill, I remember the doc said I might not get any cycles/ periods… Quite flippantly as if it was no big deal. Say whaaaaat?!?! To coin the lovely Lisa’s phrase!! 😘 I love my cycles so much, my emotional state is inextricably tied to my hormonal changes and it helps me navigate through difficult situations, basically being kind to myself when needed e.g. during PMT. I have painful ones and good ones. It’s concerning that a lot of women have lost track of their cycles through the pill, with bleeds turning up at random, not knowing when the next one is or how that might affect their state of mind. Females have this superpower that’s deeply in sync with the universe and we must harness it!! Just as Mindy says. Thank goodness I saw this video in time. I’ll brave the copper coil I think . ❤️

Thank you for discussing the question of doing Intermittent Fasting if you have an eating disorder. I was a binge eater addicted to sugar and junk food. I had been sugar and junk food free for 5 years and struggling with my urge to binge. I started IF in October 2022 and found over time my urge to binge decreased to the point that I go for days without even thinking about food. I eat during my eating window and clean fast the rest of the time. With a shorter eating window I can't binge, my body stops me. And I just want to eat high quality foods. Food is enjoyable, and it is fuel. And fuel is real food.

Hi, thanks for the great video! To the point of : getting rid of the Hormons and supporting the liver in that task. I had a major lifechanging breakthrough. I had really heavy pms to the point where I was stressed when I saw something moving. And I would scream at everyone. And than my husband was into TCM(traditional Chinese Medicine) and looked up the symptoms. And their was a tea mix for pms that would help the liver let the Energie (qui) to flow and process emotions since the liver is the organ that digests emotions (in TCM). So it was bitter as hell but I was feeling like a normal person… AN ACTUAL NORMAL PERSON. So this was lifechanging. If anybody wants to try I can send you the recipe. Thanks again! Sooo helpful your video. 🙏🤗

There is a major theme in this episode and several others: women are simply unaccepting of being in their feminine energy where it’s about BEING versus doing. This is the main issue that leads to unhealthy behaviours. Stop wanting to be a “badass” productive human, that’s not what we are built for.

It's a very interesting conversation. And I truly believe our world benefits greatly when women play active roles in multiple areas of our societies. But how on earth do the needs of businesses function with us as key players if we need this critical down time? I don't expect Fortune 500 Companies would find it practical to schedule important deliverables around our individual hormonal cycles. That seems like a huge ask not to mention a scheduling nightmare. It might even be a more difficult issue in smaller businesses with fewer employees.

And in Ancient civilizations, When women were Respected and revered respected respected and revered, and allowed to be "women/ priestess", they were extremely healthy, And enjoyed sexuality a great deal! because of the herbs and the plants that they knew to Ingest. And with religion taking over, they burned and killed a lot of women for their cultivation/knowledge of plants ect.. and Deemed them witches. She needs to do her history a hell of a lot better. I understand she's doing the best she can, but Our creator would not have made things so hard for us and so unfair.

How do we create a work environment where women’s cycle is honoured? Well the simple answer is: God did that when He put the man as the head of the home and the bread winner. The home is the one place where the woman’s cycle can be respected. Where she is the boss of her affairs, her schedule, her children. Unfortunately, we’ve deviated so far from this ideal that most women are now forced out of this safe space.

Worse - we're doing both! Women are doing the most these days - 40 hr work week + caring for the home, kids, man + doing online classes to get further ahead in career, etc. - what else can we put on our plates? It's a lot, lol 😅 sometimes, I wish I could just be a stay at home mom for a few months!

I think learning about this for men and women is a great thing. But I do not like her attitude on trying to change the world to adjust to her as a woman. I hate to say this, but this is why many believe that a woman should never be in a leadership position that requires her to NOT be emotional. Saying that women are only productive at certain times during the month due to hormones is a problem. Thank you for shining a light on this issue.

Companies also have cycles... there are pases of development, of testing etc... also think that this is only the case before menopause. Most women in power are post menopause. Also, take into account that performance-wise women tend to be better (yes, even better than men) overall despite the dips. Women pay more attention to detail, more organized... it depends on the field you work in. Women tend to be more creative, more empathetic, they are better at multitasking... Men are more stable and reliable 100% yes. But women bring some things to the table that men cannot. I think it depends on the field. For something like finance for instance... I would think requires stability. But a LOT of projects could benefit from the hormonal "chaos".

Yet men aren’t able to control themselves either.

I also honestly would be highly offended if a man would ask me what time of my cycle I’m in, so that he can have a conversation with me. It feels very condescending. I think women are usually just more emotional than men, regardless of when in the cycle they are.

Can’t believe it. I love Dr. mindy but At 32 minutes, she explains how she needs her cave time just like a man and her husband wants to talk about his day just like a woman. Roles reversed, it’s awful!

They need to teach women how to take control of their emotions during that time. I understand that hormones are up and down, but it’s not an excuse to treat people bad. Once you have this knowledge you should do something about it.

Trust me when I say that we women spend several years trying to understand these things. It's quite confusing for a few years. And it helps immensely when someone takes the time to bring understanding of and self awareness to these fluctuations. My early twenties became much easier once I understood what was happening and I could take ownership of it as opposed to believing there were external causes. I stopped blaming others and learned to recognize what was driving my own emotions. And there was more than one instance where I had to ask for time to sort something out on a different/better day.

Treating people bad has nothing to do with hormones it’s a character thing…men can give women hug and reassurance and she would calm down…sometimes aggressive behaviour is sign of frustration or resentment…or call for attention and affection it’s not given for a positive things ..freely

There is a major theme in this episode and several others: women are simply unaccepting of being in their feminine energy where it’s about BEING versus doing. This is the main issue that leads to unhealthy behaviours. Stop wanting to be a “badass” productive human, that’s not what we are built for.

Most people don't have a choice these days - one income is not enough to get the bills paid and put food on the table. It takes two for most households, so women - who once had the choice to work or not - are now forced to do both the caretaking and working full-time to help provide for the family.
