I have a 2016 focus st with about 75k miles and just bought a second motor with a blown head gasket at 58k!! Boutta follow this series and can’t wait to see it through!

Looking forward to future vids on the build! I'll be going down this path hopefully soon as well, just with a 2.3 ;). Glad you provided info on you getting the head/block pressure tested, I'd never thought of doing that with my donor. One thing to note that I've read dependent upon your goals, if you're targeting 450+ its good to get your crankshaft, pulley and sprocket keyed to prevent slipping timing.

Maugris333 Yup! I was looking into that actually. I don’t plan to go far above 400hp. I’d like to sit right at 400 just because I want to learn how to drive the car on a track and have a reliable foundation. Pretty much the driving force behind the engine build is so I can go out and race on a road course.

If you’re st had the stock intercooler would you still be able to fit the atp elbow with the hks bov?

itsChep No, because the factory intercooler has 90 degree elbows built into the end tanks.

I'm about to begin my own build soon and just picked up the motor to rebuild. What are your power goals? Where do you plan on tracking the car? Are we talking road course? Here's some unsolicited feedback: This is a much better video than the one from last year when you broke down the motor. If you want to be taken serious then be more serious. It's nice you guys were having fun but silliness (waiving toy/airsoft guns, dancing, and other antics) took away from purpose of your video (documentation of your build). That's what I'm interested in; not seeing you guys goof around. Again, much better video this time around. Also, good on you for taking most of it on your own. Look forward to seeing how it comes out.

Rob P Yes road course use. We were a “younger” channel at that point and now we want to actually take this seriously. We still are gonna have fun and be ourselves but that’s just us. If someone has a problem then that’s them. We like to have fun and be friends! Silliness just comes with the friendships haha We definitely appreciate the feedback and we will be starting this build very shortly. It will be taken very seriously but at the same time, we are having fun in the end. We’ve never done this before and we all want to enjoy the experience together.
