There was an origin comic i remember seeing of the Trix Rabbit back in the 90's. I wish i could find it again, it was actually printed on the INSIDE of the box, so i wonder how many people even noticed it. In it, the kids are starting a garden, but they quickly get bored and go back to playing. The Rabbit happens to see them, and thought it was nice that they at least tried. He worked all night on the garden so the kids would be happy. By comic magic, the garden is overflowing with fruit when the kids see it again the next day, and they happily start harvesting. When the rabbit comes to share in the bounty, the kids turn him away, saying it's their garden and the fruit is only for the kids. Since then, the rabbit has only been trying to collect the fruit that HE worked to grow.

Just to point out, you CAN be tried twice for the same crime. If the crime breaks both US state and federal laws you can be tried by either or both. So you can be found not guilty in a state trial but then the feds can grab you on the courthouse steps and charge you
