It's actually quite similar to a trifle, which makes total sense because, you know; fools always be trifling.

Definitely. To the point where it'd probably make more sense to just scoop the fruit and cream out of the bowl with whole cookies. Lol.

Funny how there is always "a problem playing. Tap to retry" riiiiiiiight after the commercial gets finished playing FLAWLESSLY. Well played KZbin, well played.
@knocknockify8 жыл бұрын
At least your device says "tap to retry." My phone's KZbin app just becomes endlessly stuck on the loading icon after an ad
@Joint1458 жыл бұрын
right?

I know right?! if a stupid ad should play no problem then the video should... if my video doesn't work, nor should the ad

See if Adblock for KZbin is available for your device. I have it on my Chromebook and I haven't seen an ad on KZbin for years.

Is this like a parfait's older, more mature brother?
@kevinbyrne45388 жыл бұрын
Fools (the dessert) are at least 400 years old, so they predate parfaits (which were created around 1900). In its youth, the fool was just puréed fruit that was folded into custard. So Chef John's version is a simplified yet more elegant version of the traditional fool.

I'd love to see a fra diavolo (tomato based) recipe...a local Italian restaurant near where I lived while still in the US was Donato's in Alpine, CA, and they had a rigatoni fra diavolo that was amazing. Sausage, olives, a spicy garlic tomato and cream sauce that was absolutely the best.

can you chill this dessert in the fridge once you're completed making it to bring the temperature down even more? I'd think all the whipping and prepping of the dessert in normal room temp would make it less chilled during serving.
@Ringele55748 жыл бұрын
I think this should be served in a Perex mixing bowl as a single serving myself..... Looks delicious.

Would it be so terrible if I just used strawberries, if I'm not a fan of any other berry types? I think it would still be very decadent and delicious.
