Frozen Food VS. Restaurant Version Blind Taste Test

The only thing I could think about while watching was Raph just setting the food and packaging himself, then sitting down blindfolding himself to eat. I just couldn’t stop thinking about it and it made me laugh the entire time. There could have definitely been someone helping but me thinking of him doing all this himself was so funny and I didn’t mind. I still would trust his reactions 😂.

I just thought it was funny and just the packaging was set up so close to him, idk it just imo seemed like he put it all there himself. Possibly not, and doesn’t change my opinion either way I think he’s funny and I trust his opinion on foods.

All I learned is that TGI Fridays probably serves frozen food in their restaurant and you might as well buy the frozen food in the grocery store and prepare it at home because then you can prepare it and eat it immediately, and also alter it to your preference. (Tbh, I started buying the frozen potato skins years ago after my sister served it at a party once, so I'm not surprised all their frozen stuff is decent.) For everything else, it's worth it to go to the restaurant.

fun fact from someone who worked at the cheese cake factory. The Company would ship our location a bunch of "deeply chilled" AKA frozen cheesecake straight from the a literal factory. The people behind the counter have probably never made an actual cheesecake in their lives lmao

a lot of restaurants do, sadly - specifically TGI fridays and applebee's. all the main entrees and sides are frozen and shipped. would rather just eat it at home and make sure it's cooked safely lolol

The cheesecake from cheesecake factory actually comes frozen to the restaurant. So I wouldn't be surprised if the "frozen" version tasted fresher and maybe even better than the one from the restaurant.

One of the things that NEEDS considered is the fact when these things sit even from a restaurant, they won’t have the best taste anymore. Just the time to get them home and set them up will essentially decrease their texture by A LOT

Some of the food like mozzarella sticks, the reason they are soggy is because of the type of container they put them in. The heat makes condensation and then makes food soggy because it’s trapped in the container.

T.G.I. Friday’s frozen food is SUPER different in restaurants. The mozzarella sticks is 100% different. They even give you the sauce to defrost…and it’s gross. I also agree that the frozen potato skins ARE better than in the restaurant. Ooo you are just about to do the moz sticks! Love it! Anddddd you are wrong lol! I love it in the restaurant ones!

The only problem we had with it was there was so little of the beef. It seemed to be missing quite frankly. There were only like 4 small chunks of beef in the whole damn bag.

One of your biggest problems here is you have the food in to go containers which obviously because in order to bring it all home you need containers! BUT, closed containers with fresh hot food created condensation/moisture which when you’re eating fried foods foods that are meant to be crunch or crispy they basically get wet because of the humidity and it’s not gonna taste anything like it would fresh at the restaurant it’s going to be somewhat soggy or totally soggy! And so your “experiment” is flawed 😂

When it comes to restaurant quality, I think quality can differ depending on the region of the United States, city, economy, branch and regional managers, and lastly the individual employee ethics. Economy and region. Sometimes shipments that come to a restaurant may not always be the best quality. However, it's probably more of a matter of microeconomics rather than geographical macroeconomics. Sometimes businesses what to cut down costs to maximize profits. Hence, regional managers may order cheaper quality food. However, once again, since we are still in the time of the Coronavurus Covid 19, macroeconomic may also take a part in supply in demand because there may less agricultural workers which may also drive up the costs of goods on a national level. And even if macroeconomics are to blame for low quality restautant foods due to supply and demand, microeconomics as well as business ethics say that business owners are responsible for the quality of food. But in a capitalistic country, it's no surprise that business owners would want to cut costs. Employees. How are the replies treated? What are the work ethics of the cooks and the customer staff? If they don't a sorry job of vookibg because they hate their job, they won't put their best effort and love seeing that cooking is art form. If they just see their jobs as means to an end, they might not always perform tge best. So in the end, your sorry excuse for a piece of broccoli that you recjeved ftkm PF changs may all boil down to a socio-economical, geographical, or jndividual centrifugal forces affecting America's food culture. Yes, food is part of culture and restaurants contribute to culture. And 1 bad employee can affect a business and also the culture.

We put food to get marinated in refrigerator so I think frozen food takes more flavour than restaurants but the freshness of the food will give away whether it is frozen or restaurant ones
