Thank you for talking about mental health. It’s an overlooked issue, especially for men. Doesn’t have to be fitness related, could be not feeling like living up to your own image of being a man or father. Speak up!

I am glad someone is talking about the body dysmorphia that’s associated with the sport. This is a topic that needs to be spoken on more.
@muscleandstrength Жыл бұрын
I agree 100% - was very happy to cover that.
@FDT222 Жыл бұрын
@@muscleandstrength do you find that most people you interviewed duck that topic or is it just not casually spoken about?
@kevinlanigan505 Жыл бұрын
For sure, it’s pretty difficult for me sometimes especially going from a cut to a bulking phase in my case. So to see pros taking about this stuff and getting into a more positive headspace makes me hopeful
@wombat5252 Жыл бұрын
@@FDT222 Body dysphmorphia like this can sort of be bad but people overreact on it. If you want to discuss something more, discuss alcoholism and drug addiction especially with fentanyl coming in through the border (because you know who doesn't give a crap about it and ignores it). They actually kill. Or food addiction such as morbidly obese people walking around at 500lb+ of pure fat.

A tip to all bodybuilders despite me not being one, opt for avocado or olive oil sprays instead of PAM; canola oil and the propellants in PAM are too inflammatory. Unfortunately, I don't do well even with whey isolate protein powders, so I stick to whole foods; I don't trust vegan protein powders or meal replacements although there are a few promising on the market. From a health point of view, sushi is indeed better than other "cheat" meals; never had it because I am certain I'd have to eat a whole lot of it like Austin here with this bowl. I am a tahini freak ha-ha. Austin looks cool, I wish him wholeheartedly all the best in his bodybuilding journey; he already has the mentality for it and it's in his hands to achieve his dreams :).

Why are bodybuilders so afraid of real butter? You only need a tiny bit and it can count towards their fat macros :D
@muscleandstrength Жыл бұрын
Butter and honey are becoming more common in diets - most in the past avoid them most likely to being on low fat diets (mainly from nut butter and meat) . How much butter do you normally have ?
@wombat5252 Жыл бұрын
@@muscleandstrength You definitely wouldn't need much butter. I know Austin said 10g at night which caught me off guard because yeah most BB's don't seem to use it. The calories and fat adds up quick though just like oil so you'd have to be careful. I just like it to cook my eggs or maybe a tiny bit in the chicken on the stove top. Honey is amazing! Great anti bacterial and never expires.

Real butter is excellent for you. It contains MCT's as well. 14 grams of butter is 11 grams of fat, which is less than the same amount of other fat sources such as olive oil.

Does @AustinEspy think, that he is pushing body dysmorphea when he Is always lean? I saw some fitness KZbinr, showing his morning form (flat) and then after workout looking full and pumped. Telling viewers that his pictures was always after a workout and tons of carbs. He knew he was wrong, but had to tell that even a top athlete looked flat in the morning and had days where he hated going to the gym. Just like Goggins, who hates running, he still runs, but we don’t have to, they are top athletes living of their form. We are normal people, trying to be healthy. Be healthy, both in body and mind.
