What up man, have you ever tried doing the depth jumps with a super high box height to work on maximal strength. The time to reverse the force becomes longer meaning your system is being stimulated very similarly to a max effort squat. It makes you stronger in the movement, vs just trying to get better at said movement (box jumping).

Can I do this workout along with your weight room squat work in the same week? I already squat 1.8x my body weight . Can you help me out with deciding what I should do? Should I just do this workout or squat, or just combine these two?

If you can already squat that much your bodyweight than I would honestly focus more on jumps squats and explosive squats mixed with plyometrics. Adding this routine will be beneficial to you. Also check out the full workout at www.verticaljumptruth.com

I hope you respond to this, I definitely need some help. I'm 6'0 w/ shoes on, and I'm 15 years old. I can squat well over 1.5x my body weight. Probably around 2-2.5x my body weight. My vertical jump is 29' I believe because I can touch the rim (and that's it) Here is my training regime, I need 6 more inches to dunk (which would be a 35 inch vertical) Weights: Squats 3x Per Week (4 Sets, 15 Reps), Calf Raises 3x Per Week Stretching: 7x Per Week (Stretching every leg muscle thoroughly, ESPECIALLY hip Flexors. I'm not very flexible because I've never really stretched much before) Plyometrics: after watching this video, I'll do these Plyo exercises Core: Every Once in a while an intense ab workout. What could I improve on in my regiment to increase my vertical? And do you think I could increase it by 6 inches within 3-4 months?

RouseTalk Yes in your case you need to maintain your strength and focus on plyometric work. Do plyometric 2-3 times per week while getting at least 1-3 days of rest between workout days. You will need to focus on practicing the jumping movement and depth jumps. As soon as you notice a decrease in your performance than you should stop the workout. Please can you tell me, how many times a week i should do plyometric workouts? .. You said 2-3 times a week with 2 days rest after.. on the rest days should i do lower body strength training or not? should i train my upper body as well on the rest days? . Please be specific Thanks

Usually you should do lower body strength training on the same days that you do your plyometrics. So do plyometrics nad strength tarining the same day and then take 2-3 days off and do plyometrics and strength training again. Always start off with your plyometrics. Hey I saw the vertical jump truth and I just wanted to make sure that it will work. I am 6 feet and 13 years old. Right now I am about 2 inches away from dunking, and I'm really working hard but it seems to be taking too long. does being able to squat 1.5x body weight mean just simply being able to do one full squat or multiple squats with that weight?

I'm 5'6" with a standing reach of 6'11". I have a 24" vertical (only) so I can reach about 8'11" on my max, a 2 foot jump. I wish to reach 28" vertical with the workouts in this video before I turn 14 next year. Is this possible?

Ok I'm 5'9 and I want to dunk on a ball10ft. I can dunk 9ft. To 9.5 with a ball but it seems like I can't get pass that but jumping and touching or grabbing rim I can get anywhere from 9.9 to 9.11 and I squat 225 to 330 what can I do to improve my vertical so that I can dunk on a 10.ft rim?

1,5 times my body weight for squad is me (80kg) + 120 kg dumbbell.. or me + 40 kg dumbbell? :D

I'm 5'7" so yeah, you can, I first dunked at 5'3" when I was constantly working on my legs. Of course I have a rare breed type of body with nice calves born with them and a NBA outstanding wingspan of 6'5" but with dedication, you may be able to.

No you first must make sure that you have string strength levels. Meaning you can squat 1.5x your bodyweight bro. And if you can squat 1.5 times your bodyweight than do this workout 2 times per week with 3 days of rest between workout days. As long as you use proper form than working out should not decrease your height. In fact, strength training will help you jump higher if you are lacking the strength aspect.
