Nic.C Genuine question- How can maintaining an accurate and consistent translation of one specific language to another be racist and unnecessary? The way I see it, and bear in mind that this is just my opinion, it is absolutely necessary. If we no longer valued consistent and accurate translations between languages every word would have an infinite amount of definitions. It would be impossible to both learn another language and to translate current or historic literature to different languages. I’m not sure how my thinking this would make me racist? I’d be really interested to know your reasoning as you may have a completely different take on it that I haven’t thought of.

As a kid I loved spelling tests and was pumped to not just take them but to grade my friend's test. We were in the slower group so our tests were a bit easier but I was one of the smarter kids in literacy. I still find it strange that the teachers made us grade each other's tests but it set us up for some good laughs. I was given a gift one day when one of last words was Ditch. My friend never capitalized her words so when she forgot what way a lowercase D went, she wrote bitch and moved along. Being a 7 years old with a secret love of profanity I laughed so hard that I fell back in my chair and likely got told off for disturbing the class.
