Galaxy S6 Black Screen

Easily fix Galaxy S6 black screen issue where display is blank and notification LED flashes but nothing is shown on the display. You can hear messages and calls coming in and notifications buttons light up but nothing is displayed.

This totally worked on my S6! I could hear the volume beep as I moved it up and down but saw absolutely nothing on the screen so I couldn't tell if I was turning the phone off. Followed the direction to hold the on/off and the down volume and I got the screen with the ways to restart the phone. Thank you so much!!!!

Omg the power button and volume down combo actually worked! I was so worried my phone had bricked forever. I did nothing wrong, didnt drop it, didnt get it wet, but I just went to pick it up and the screen was black and solid red light on. Thank you, you beautiful beautiful tech!

Thank you very much! My wife's SM-P900 tablet got the black screen and a message, " Server did not respond try again later." When I would press the top, right corner where time was displayed, the screen would flash to normal for a moment before going back to black screen. After several iterations, the power and volume up button while the UBS was plugged in brought me to a screen with several choices. Clearing the cache was the choice that finally cleared the black screen and the message. Thank you again!

OMG!!! Even though I have samsung s5, IT WORKED. I have been watching different videos for like 2 hours now and non of them helped me. I just held the upper volume button and power button at the same time and the screen turned on. I was just giving up and excepting the fact that I will need to replace the screen or buy a new phone. I suspect this happens during opening outdated apps because the problem happened with me for the first time when I posted stories to my Instagram. Thank you! I was charging my phone. I saw that the green light was on, indicating fully charged, but when I pressed either the menu button or the power button, nothing happened. Pressing the power button with the volume down button displayed a very tiny text menu with boot options. I selected normal boot, and everything is working fine again.

So I went to bed last night and my phone (Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge) was perfectly fine. I left it on like always cause I use the alarm clock. I wake up this morning and I'm not only 2hrs late waking up but my phone is acting like it was turned off. I tried to turn it on and it never would come on, so I go to KZbin on my smart TV and found this video. I tried the first step by holding the power button and the volume UP button but nothing happened. Then I tried the next step by holding the power button and the volume DOWN button and there was a screen that came up with maintenance options. It had things like restart phone, erase all content, shut phone down, etc. etc. I selected the "restart phone" and BAMM it came on! I am actually typing this with my phone. Lol. Thank you so much man!

Just a note, it's also helpful to have volume turned on in Windows at least when using the computer, as the USB connection sounds can indicate if the phone is actually turning off or on.

It worked last week but now I did this thing where it said about some os update but turned it off cause it didn't seem to be doing anything and tried everything you've said and nothing works apart from the blue dot light comes on.
