Every time you see Amir suppress a laugh or a smile..... he's not breaking character. My theory is that at the end of Jake and Amir proper, Jake accepts amir's offer to dinner and they have a serious heart to heart. Jake admits that he loves working with Amir, and he'd love to find some creative outlet for their banter and hi-jinks and love for dialogue and rhyming. That's when it hits them like the bus that hit Amir's girlfriend; they could start a podcast, to which Amir replies "I'll do you one WORSE! An entire podcast NETWORK!" Although he used the word "worse" incorrectly, Jake refrains from arguing with Amir and realizes that that's a perfect idea. Amir, consistently shouting "HENRY" all the while, is flabbergasted to hear that Jake wants to work with him. However, Jake establishes the condition that Amir must go through intense psychological therapy. Amir, initially resistant, slowly accepts the condition once he realizes that Jake is really going to be with him every step of the way. Years pass, and Amir slowly begins to develop a normal social life not dependent on Jake, but still involving Jake. His diet is diversified. He takes up life-enriching hobbies not entirely consisting of masturbating in shrimp. He learns to have normal conversations. Most interestingly, he's learned to control and direct his typically self-destructive behavior into a form of humor that works very well on his new podcast "If I Were You"; the only advice podcast on the internet hosted by him and Jake. However..... a new intern is somehow miraculously hired despite his complete lack of basic common sense and understanding of any real world concept besides Yo-Yo's and vests. This intern.... this dumbass intern.... is gradually revitalizing the inner demons that once ran rampant in the mind of Amir. Every time they speak.... every encounter that they have.... Amir begins to enjoy the complete recklessness represented by Geoffrey. Amir has been trying very hard to suppress it. He'll talk down to Geoffrey and rationally break apart the flaws in his reasoning..... just like Jake used to do to him. But this only succeeds in bringing back memories of the times before Amir's therapy. Jake is not ignorant of this transformation. He has tried many methods to prevent Geoffrey from influencing Amir. He has berated him, casually dismissed him, and rationalized with him. Unfortunately, it is evident that Amir's former self is slipping through the cracks that Geoffrey has chiseled into him. It won't be long before Jake realizes this inevitability... and is forced to kill Geoffrey.... for the sake of his friend.

I get why people like to say Geoffrey and his character are basically Amir but I think they are pretty different. Amir was constantly looking for Jakes acceptance even in statements he was almost asking a question but with Geoffrey he is so confident in his idiotic ideas its a completely different character imo (a character that I love haha)

There are subtle differences between the characters and I hope it can be expanded upon in future episodes :)

yeah there are differences but he plays it hella similarly with the same mannerisms and shit. peep the sorry at 2:53 textbook j and a. they seem to be his main comedic influence. hes good at it but it'd be cool if he did his own thing a bit more.
@michaelcrowe1117 жыл бұрын
I get what you're saying, and in part I agree, but there were two pretty different versions of Amir depending on when the video was made. At first he was just a "needy dumb loser" as Jake put it. Then later on he became more crazy and mean spirited, with these borderline magic powers. Geoff seems like the second version if he wasn't such an asshole.

heres one for the siggestion box!, how about you have a 'darker' episode, where geoffrey finally realises that everyone hates him. does anyone remember the J&A episode "amirs birthday"? it could be similar to that, so the geoffrey character becomes a more well rounded and relatable character, it might also give you a chance to shoot a video outside the office and show the true motives of geoffrey and why he feel the need to impress his co-workers, employers and make his old man proud. it could be a real character study in that regard. or you could keep it to 4 minute sketches that you freestyled off the top of your dick. both make for great content, yours truly, a big fan. P.S GO BILLS!

So we're just glossing over the fact that Rand Paul is in a meat locker, shivering on camera, and then brings out contestants one by one? Does he step out from inside a meat locker and introduce them because they were waiting outside for him? Or worse, are all of them inside a meat locker until the camera starts rolling?? So many unanswered questions!!
