Watching your videos takes me back to when I used to really work at building my body, here lately in the past year I lost touch with that, been just going through the motions and adding more weight instead of focusing on technique, this is reminding me to take my time and really flex and squeeze the muscles while I hit tgem
@drewfisher6721 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for these videos Dr. Mike. My good friend has been raving on you and your training and teaching. I’m back now 2.5 months in the gym and get relatively sore and feel strong. We trained your style for chest 2 days ago and he guided me. We had far more quality reps, lighter weight, increased the reps a bit and focused on eccentrics and stretch at the bottom. HOLY crap, I’m super sore. I should know this stuff as an exercise scientist, but life gets at you and you sort of brush through things and put workouts to the side and also get stuck in what “works” for you. I’m now changing my training and more focused on your techniques and I am confident I will see the changes in my body that I’ve been trying to go after the past few years. I am already humbled. Slowing down and focusing on quality (with stretching) will now overtake my quantity and “same old same old”..

@user-he4ef9br7z Dr. Mike has done several videos detailing how that isn't necessarily true and there isn't much difference between the two methodology wise. People on peds just recover faster and gain better, but they have to watch their joint health because the muscles can outpace the tendons. Other than that, according to Mike and several other BBs, the training between people on PEDs and naturals aren't that different.

Dr Mike, i notice when you have people curl ez bar you always have them curl bar to forehead 14:10. Is this just due to the length of their arms or is it the best form? I feel i get a much more significant burn if i keep it tighter and curl to my chin with my forearms almost touching my biceps. Just wondering if that makes sense or if im potentially messing up the concetric movement. Thanks
@gtb9693 Жыл бұрын
You can watch their video called "8 barbell curl mistakes and how to fix them", Mike explains it in that video. But to sum it up: both are different styles of curling and both are totally fine. So if you like to do it how you are doing it then keep doing that! I also prefer to curl like that, so yeah don't worry, you're not missing out on any concentric action! :)
