Hey Carlo, thanks for the thorough review! We wanted to share some additional info about the bag fill: Our fill recommendations are based on the internal volume of our own Combat Corner 100lb bag (48 inches tall, 15 inches in diameter, totaling 8500 cubic inches). The Contender bag is indeed smaller (42 inches tall, 14 inches in diameter, totaling 6500 cubic inches) and measured externally, making its usable space even smaller. The Contender bag is at a minimum 31% smaller. You're right about Ringside using internal sandbags to get to 100 lbs when they sell this bag filled. This lets them sell a smaller, lower cost bag, but those sandbags can shift and create hard spots, potentially leading to injury. We avoid this practice in our filled bags, we only use textile or textile foam blends in our own bags. The shredded textile + foam fill you chose is the least dense and takes up the most space. Foam memory tends to bounce back after being compressed, so it's naturally softer than other options. Because of this less material is needed to fill the same dimensional volume as say our non foam blend fill. Over time, the bag will compress naturally, and you can add more fill as needed. Hand filling takes a bit more effort, but as you mentioned, it lets you get the exact feel you want-a huge benefit! Thanks again for the great review and your valuable insights!

Good to get your comments. I am about to fill a 6ft bag and now know not to use any sealed sand bags in, not to mention how much easier the filling job is not bothering with sand.

Hey Carlos...Great instruction as always. Take care of that back. I had a bulging disc myself. Had operation to remove it and so glad I did. After just a couple months of rehab my back is actually stronger than before. Just something to consider to keep you training...🙏

I use layered card board on the bottom to make it stiffer and hikd its shape and you can add sand bags(ziplocks filled with dirt from outside and wrapped in duct tape) in the center to add weight.

My bag has this filling from the factory but the sandbags inside constantly find their way to the edges and settle right from delivery for the last 2yrs. Makes it where the bags are like hitting concrete in one part and they bust open. Got to where I was sick and tired of pulling everything out every week. I think I am going to pull the sandbags out and just anchor the bag bottom down. I thought about getting a small concrete form and slipping inside the bag and putting the sandbags in it and then filling in and around the form to keep the bags from making it to the edges....It has caused me some hand damage at times and those injuries take a week to heal up.

One of my bag (pre-filled) that I use at home got really hard and bumpy at jabbing/cross height. Been trying to fix that, and even taking it down and giving it a few whacks doesn't work. If I take out all the fillings and replace them with these, will that solve the issue?

Does the foam make for a softer hitting back compared to 100% textiles (old clothes)?

Hey Carlo, I filled my Thai bag with your other method, sand and insulation (I used rock wool). If be interested to hear your thoughts comparing the two.

Hi I'm around 65kg /143lbs , I already have a 16 oz glove but i feel like they have made me slow the past year (which I still will be using for sparring and training majority of the time),long time ago I used 12 and I felt really good to be fast, is it fine to buy a new 12 oz for pads or should I just go for 14 oz just to be safe?
@BTJashub8 ай бұрын
12 oz is what they use for amateurs keep using 16oz to build shoulder muscles and you get faster soon as you put on 14oz or 12 you see how fast and harder you hit but switch between the 3 specially 12oz if your amateur so you can get use to punching with them it add volume and accuracy you never wanna get use to just one size glove

Hi man it's possible that you can do a review of the venum Tecmo?

Maybe a 25 or 35 pound Olympic weight plate would help with compacting the material into the bottom of the bag with a density consistency that you want

Yeah definitely thought about that

Get a 4ft mailing tube and fill it with sand. Duct tape it up and put it in the center.
