I'm an avid Grex user. I really like the Grex Tritium and Genesis brushes. All of the "business end parts" are identical so they are interchangeable. The nozzles, needles, nozzle covers, needle caps and reservoirs are interchangeable. Spray gun users will find that the Tritium is really easy to pick up and use. The o-rings on the "dry side" of the brushes are rubber. You should never have solvents on the dry side, so rubber seals are no big deal. Besides, rubber seals the air better, IMHO. I compare the Genesis brush to the Iwata HP-C Plus. I own both. The Grex has the trigger travel limiter like the HP-C Plus. That's more apples and apples. You mentioned the G-MAC. I always use the G-MAC to tweak the airflow rather than trying to do so with the trigger. Having said that, I can regulate air with the trigger if needed.

Dont forget you can make this aorbrush a .2 , .5 and a .7 you can also make it a fan cap airbrush . Super versatile.......only issue i have is knowing exactly where the needle point is to spray detail........but aftere using the airbrush for a little bit you get used to it and it becomes second nature. As far as stripping threads you do have to be careful but the parts and threads are more robust then most airbrushes so i would not worry to much about that........

Have you Grex's Clear Sight Caps? I haven't tried one yet so I can't say how much they actually help with visibility, but I'm ordering one right now so I'll try and remember to update when I find out.

I own a grex . I like how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and the width control nozzle In the back. But!…right out of the box the spray lever started catching and gets stuck for a split second when doing fine detail. Definitely lubed it with iwata Lube, Maybe I need to file it down? I most likely got a bunk lever, but after a few months of light use, the grex hose broke too. It’s also more prone to clogging than my Iwata, and yeah a bit more difficult to clean. I like the idea of a magnetic nozzle tip, but the magnet isn’t strong enough and falls off all the time ( already lost One). Cool prototype, but I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I believe Badger still made in Chicago been to thier rfactory there..and makes other brand airbrushes also. Some Japanese brushes made in Japan

I love my H&S airbrushes, have the ultra and the infinity cr plus .. - While this grex looks nice, I don't think I could ever be bothered going back to all the hassle of screwed in nozzles and such. They are the bane of airbrushing imo :D

The purpose of the thread on design of the fluid nozzle is to ensure perfect alignment. As compared to a lot of cheaper airbrushes on the market this is an advantage. The quality of the H&S is very good and also ensures proper alignment but it's also almost double the price of that of the Grex product. Like Rob says, pros and cons to everything.

I use several airbrushes, the Grex is very nice, but extremely finicky. I prefer the AK brush over Grex. The Grex Compressor is excellent though, highly recommend it.

Hey man, great video so thank you for making it. I just got my first airbrush which is the Grex XGi3 and I am enjoying airbrushing but I do have an issue when I change colors. The needle seems to get stuck. Any ideas?

That shouldn't be happening, so try giving your airbrush a thorough cleaning, and if that still doesn't work, reach out to them, they're usually pretty responsive!

Hey, I need to buy an air compressor. I bought 2 different ones blicks parts supply in San Francisco. Both of them came broken. I need to buy one where there is some quality control and customer service and so I do not get another broken air compressor. I have and I wanna airbrush gun,but no compressor. I am using it to spray leather dye on to leather. Have seen a video of one of the iwata air compressors that you can put 2 guns on at the same time

The best compressor for miniature painting is the "SIL-AIR 20A", it's Made In Europe by an over 40yr old compressor-company, and is made of a refrigerator compressor, which means it's slightly louder than a whisper at 30db. (A whisper is about 30 dB, normal conversation is about 60 dB) It has an built in Tank, a Water separator and a Regulator = All you need. I've had mine for about 3 years now without any problems. But if you are using your compressor for bigger stuff than miniature painting you should look into their bigger models with bigger tanks.
