Great video and so informative. A good result for HAVAL.

Just found you and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing how this vehicle fared on such low kms. 130,000 is nothing! A friend of mine bought a car, a BA series Ford wagon some years ago. It was a factory LPG version and it had 900,000 km on the clock. It was fully serviced and maintained as per the log book...as far as following the service guide LoL and he drove it until it ticked over all 0's again. Yes it was an ex taxi, but that is some kms there! My 2006 E53 BMW X5 is just rolling over 270,000 now, 3.0d and it still runs like new. Slowly been easing the transmission fluid bit by bit every two weeks and it is getting better and both diffs and transfer case have had fresh oils put in them. Transfer case is a special oil, but fortunately my diagnostics reader picked up that it was worn out. After a change and reset, it is great! Honestly, all cars will wear, but regular maintenance helps them no end.

I've seen a lot of Japanese and European cars look a lot worse than that after 130K (3 years). I'd also point out that the paint may be thin but it has definitely held up to harsh Russian winters. I am surprised that this car has proven to be much more robust than what we are lead to believe. Overall a fascinating review! Thanks Dimitri!

That wound be highly dependent where in Australia, here in Melbourne not so much as our summer is short. In Perth or Brisbane would be a good test as their climate is extremely hot.

I live in Canada and we currently don't have access to Chinese made cars. It's good to hear that this car is doing well in this climate. I'm surprised to hear that this vehicle has a DCT transmission that is still working ok. Ford, as well as some other manufacturers, have put DCT transmissions in a few of their vehicle models and they were a disaster. The lifespan of their DCT transmissions was very short. CVT transmissions are very common here in Nissans and Korean made cars. Many people will not buy cars with these transmissions due somewhat to their driving characteristics, but mostly due to premature failure. It's good to see that there was little rust on this vehicle. I believe that the climate in my city is similar to this vehicles location. Cold for three or four months of the year, but almost no salt. In 2018 I bought a new Ford F-150 pickup truck, and there was noticably more rust on the underside of my truck than what I am seeing on this vehicle. Several arreas un the underside of my truck were not painted from the factory, and turned brown very quickly. While this did not affect the operation of my truck, it didn't look very good.

The only issue with chinese cars is the use of DCT, its not great from the start stop especially when you need the power from stand still, you need to factor in at least 2 second before the power kicks in. Practically its dangerous especially in a round about situation.

yeah, that paint coverage is poor. At the end of the day, price points need to be met with cost reductions across all areas of the car - snip here, snip there etc. There is no magic formula to make a car cheaper than the competition. For a car to do 130k in 3 years would mean these are 'good' kilometers, so engines will usually last well under these sort of uses.

Isn't 33 Valdimir Oblast? If so, that's close enough to Moscow for salted roads, I think. Champion spark plugs are a common, and sort of generic, brand of spark plug in Australia. Nothing special and nothing overly terrible AFAIK. It is a shame my partner said no to a Chinese car, as Haval is the only Chinese manufacturer with a local dealership. Spending $38k would have got us a top spec Ultra Jolion, and little more if she was interested in a HEV Jolion, which is not. Being her money and her car, I had little say, as I would have considered the Jolion myself.
@royset305015 күн бұрын
@arokh72 I think that your partner made a good call to not buy the Jolion. Just my opinion.I was surprised with this good report as I thought that the results would have been worse. However In Australia they don't have a good resale value but that said who would consider shelling out good money for a used Tesla as they have shocking resale value compared to the original purchase price.

They seem to only offer this 1.5ltr petrol 4 cylinder turbo/non turbo on everything, that's seem be the only petrol lCE installed in chinese cars. I've never seen any other petrol configuration on chinese branded cars ie v6,or bigger capacity than 1.5ltr ect ,just seems like a very limited rang of power train and small capacity motor, probably how they keep the costs down. Take the electric or you get and uninspiring ,some what reliable,milk toast motor ,change models, you get the same motor with the only redeeming features a turbo to make up for an engine capacity just above a motorcycle,I hope other makes aren't going down the same road,just seems very vanilla and povo . The US really aren't missing much not getting these ,but I guess for A-B on a budget there not much of down grade from economy Japanese, Korean cars of the same ilk,it just sets a very low bar for other manufacturers, if they get away with, just offering such limited power trains

Because the price of this car in China is 100,000 RMB (about 13,000 USD), SUVs at this price are all 1.5T. If you want a higher displacement, you need to buy a car worth more than 200,000 RMB.
