Elon Musk chopped down 500,000 trees for a Tesla factory in Germany. The problem is the people at the top grossly misusing resources, not someone using a hairdryer on cool to blow water off some fruit. Get some perspective. If washing and drying the fruit makes it last longer, it's one of the best things you can do, because organic waste in landfill produces methane (worse greenhouse gas than CO2), and fruit takes a lot of land, labour, water, and chemical inputs to grow.

@myproteinpantry5 ай бұрын
This took me around 4 hours with filming!
@pbjt23965 ай бұрын
At first it may take longer but Don’t be discouraged from prepping! You spend a few tries figuring out what cooking devices (air fryer, conventional oven, slow cooker, etc.) you like to use regularly, and then you figure out what foods you’d like on your menu and what containers you plan to store them in, and then the rest is so much easier! I used to meal prep for myself and repeat a lot of meals, so eventually I managed to get my prep down to one hour including washing my wares and cleaning up after myself. A pro prepping tip is to either buy and use store bought condiments and/or dry herbs to season, and make your own green seasoning or herb blend yourself and store it in a mason jar. Before grocery shopping I like to clean my kitchen so packing up is easy and quick once home. Then If u have energy left, u dice up all your onions and garlic you plan to use to season food and store it in a bowl for the week ahead or for meal prep. I will also create a green seasoning paste and store in a mason jar for use over the next 2-3 months. This entails blending up several veggies (like onions, green scallions, sweet peppers, thyme, basil, mint, garlic, ginger, kosher salt, olive oil) and storing it in a glass jar like a small mason jar. Adding oil preserves the seasoning for longer-term use and helps avoid molding. This adds tons of flavors to meats and is kid-friendly since you can’t even tell there are veggies in the food! KZbin it and it may help save you tons of time and create flavorful meals. Aside from this, having a bowl system is extremely helpful too. I use glass to avoid plastic exposure, but bowls are fine to use once your food has cooled and if you can reheat in glass plates later on. If you’re like most moms and don’t have time and energy, plastic bowls won’t kill your kids and they are kid-friendly! Try ordering a pack of maybe 50 pcs of 8 oz bowls from Amazon. Lots of food can fit in them and they are clearly so I can what’s inside, and small enough so I can stack them without taking up tons of space in the fridge. I also would prep meals quickly by doing it the same day I bought grocery so that my meats are fresh and room-temperature. That helps to reduce my cook time drastically. As a mom, you may be quite tired after the day is up or after grocery shopping and taking the kids with you and all, so you can also try to pick one day to prep your meats and just take the meats out the freezer early AM and leave them in water to thaw. Once defrosted you can start cooking maybe around lunch time. One thing I still like to do is buy all my meats at once and return home to season after. Most days when im too tired to prep, I will store the meats in the fridge overnight and season them the following morning. I let the seasonings soak into the meat for at least one hour or longer, then I store them in ziplock bags in the freezer. All these steps help make cooking easier and faster, and feel less like a chore. Even if you can’t prep all your meals in one day, you can still prep your meats and have seasonings on standby which will make cooking a lot easier. You can even try making a menu for the week ahead, or you can break up your meal prep days into 2 or 3 days a week, depending on how quickly food is eaten. I would do a Sunday prep, and by Wednesday I am all out of food so I start prepping early Thursday. Maybe that works for you, or maybe you can do Sunday night and Wed night. If you have to prep at night remember to give your food some time to cool down before storing, so it won’t spoil. I know this may be a lot of info, but as long as you develop a system that works for you, everything will feel a lot easier to manage. I sincerely hope this helps!

Genuine question doesn't it smell funny or taste weird after waiting in the fridge for like 4-5 days? I can only meal prep for the next 2 days, after that I feel it's going to go bad. Yeah I keep it in the fridge ofc but idk. Does a food scientist know for example, how long after cooking it is still safe to eat chicken
@romif14134 ай бұрын
I happened to read a response from her in the pinned comment that this is for 3-4 days. I personally do also think more than that would indeed make it taste funny (or even be actually bad for you). I personally wouldn't dare to try haha. The only thing I've tried to keep for longer so far are cleaned strawberries and grapes and surprisingly (to me) they indeed last throughout the week when properly cleansed and dried before being put into a fruit container. I quickly checked your chicken question on the website from 'the' Dutch organization on questions like this and they say that cooked chicken can be stored up until 2 days (I don't know anything about it so can't answer any questions but that's what I read there and it's like 'the' organization we can go to for food storage questions. It's called 'voedingscentrum' - meaning nutrition center - if you feel like checking it out on a translated version:) )
