They aren't 'Jewish feasts' they are biblical feasts and the literal substance of them is Jesus Christ (Col 2:17, Rom14:5). Many of the festivals are commanded in the OT as an 'everlasting ordinance' and celebrated by Christians in the NT (ie. Jesus last supper which we do as communion is a Passover dinner-Matt 26) and Paul says to 'keep the festival' (1Cor5:8), celebrating Pentecost is 'feast of harvest/weeks/first fruits' they just call it something different (Shavuot). They celebrate it for giving of the 10 commandments on Mt. Sinai, we celebrate it for receiving the indwelling Holy Spirit who wrote the laws on our hearts (WE STILL CELEBRATE IT). The feast of trumpets/Day of Atonement as celebrated in the OT is a prophecy that is to be fulfilled (Matthew 24:30-31, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 11:15) and both are referenced in Acts27:9. This is a lasting ordinance that can't be fulfilled w/o the the Messiah as the temple is now destroyed (Lev16:29) and was meant for anyone associating with God's community (Lev16:29-31). The feast of tabernacles is celebrated by Jesus in John 7 and there is prophecy that one day the whole world will honor the feast of booths (tabernacles) Zech14:16. The reason why folks DON"T celebrate God's appointed times is due to the infiltration of paganism (mostly in the Roman Catholic church) and due to Emperor Constantine who made ordinances (see Constantine's anti-Judaic legislation) to separate the the Jews from Christians. Also, one of the lies (as the devil always does mixing truth with lies) is that this has anything to do with following Rabbinic laws or OT ceremonial laws (laws that have to to do with temple service). This is false as there is no standing temple. We practice these as a remembrance (just as for example the Lord's supper). Also none of this is mandatory (salvific) but there are IMMENSE BLESSINGS in learning about and celebrating biblical feasts/appointed times. They celebrate and honor God per His instructions, who could hate on that?

When we disobey by eating any food that God has said not to eat (whether fruit from the tree of knowledge or swines flesh, rats and the abomination or food sacrificed to idols, etc.) it is a sin that causes us to be separated from God. Acts lists the most important things *(the essentials)* to avoid in order for us to do well but also goes on to say because Moses is read in every city on the sabbath. Testimony time. In 2006, we were members of a Baptist Church AND a Catholic Church, and started 'really' studying the Bible. We first noticed the 7th Day Sabbath was given at creation, to all people, as a memorial of creation and our Father's great work. We were convicted that all believers all to keep this 7th Day to indicate Who we worship, and to honor our God. Yet, we said nothing, and prayed and continued to study. We left the Sunday keeping Church when the pastor had a sermon that 'God said we are to go to Church on Sunday.' That was the end. The preacher might bring up sin, but never got close to what God says sin is. We then went to a 7th Day Sabbath Church that did not keep the Feasts of God other than the Sabbath. That was all we understood at the time, and that seemed fine.....'until'..... We continued to study the Bible, and noticed that Deuteronomy 31:29-30 speaks of the LATTER DAYS.... and beginning in chapter 28 through to the end of Deuteronomy, we hear what the expectations are from God....and MOSES SANG ALL THE WORDS OF THIS SONG....and the 'song' was the law/Torah/instructions FROM GOD. We noticed that ALL 12 TRIBES and THOSE GRAFTED IN.....the STRANGERS FROM EGYPT THAT BELIEVED were at the foot of that mountain....and that God SAID that there was ONE LAW FOR THE NATIVE BORN and the STRANGER GRAFTED IN. The law was NOT GIVEN TO THE JEWS (only).....but, ALL ISRAEL. We then noticed that Cain knew there was a death penalty for murder. We noticed that God killed the first creature and that was used as an illustration of our Blessed Messiah's sacrifice and death on our behalf. We noticed that God brought 7 pairs of CLEAN ANIMALS to Noah....and only one pair OF UNCLEAN ANIMALS. We noticed that ABRAHAM KEPT commandments, statutes, and judgements. It became quite apparent from all this, that God gave Adam and Eve ORAL INSTRUCTIONS THAT WERE HANDED DOWN. Really, that is the only way that Sodom and sinners could be condemned. They KNEW what sin was. They CHOSE to do their own thing and deny their Creator. Even the story of the flood....the violence against the animals...against people. They KNEW WHAT THEY DID WAS WRONG....or it wouldn't have been a righteous judgement from our God. We noticed that GOD TOLD US FROM THE BEGINNING that the curse would be poured out in the LATTER DAYS....for disobedience to His law/Torah/instructions. We noticed that Revelation 15:3 gave the detail that THE SAINTS ARE SINGING THE SONG OF MOSES.....the law....and that they also SANG THE SONG OF THE LAMB....or the testimony of Jesus. When we shared all this with the 7th Day Church, they rejected God's Feasts, only keeping the Sabbath and a Passover service. So....., after a 'Judaizing' sermon was given and we were 'forced' to leave...., we continued to worship and study on our own. ALL THIS....WITHOUT ONE KZbin VIDEO TEACHING US 'Hebrew Roots' religion. ALL THIS....WITHOUT ONE PERSON COMING TO US and contaminating us with that dangerous CULT mentality of 'Hebrew Roots.' We now know...especially as the tide of mainstream Church REJECTS GOD'S LAW....and loves to put each command or instruction in a particular box....so that it may be MARGINALIZED and rejected.....that the mainstream Church will continue to verbally persecute those COMING OUT of lukewarm Christianity, in favor of "EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD".....until....the flood of words from a harlot Church.....actually are responsible for the persecution of the saints. Revelation 12. Notice in chapter 11 of Revelation, that they GIVE GIFTS AND MAKE MERRY after shutting up those terrible 'kill-joys' of what??? ....a holiday season??? Perhaps. Examine what I say here. Test it. I am bold, because my God has given me dreams. HE WILL FIGHT HIS CAUSE. He will bring all people to understand His purpose. It would behoove Christians and all believers to examine carefully what those people are teaching that are coming out of the mainstream Church. We are not in a cult. We have no leader except YHWH God Almighty and our Beloved Yahshua/Jesus! As for us personally, we never even heard of 'Hebrew Roots' until we were long on the path to obedience. And, after beginning to keep the 7th Day Sabbath, not buying or selling, not cooking or working....we have had our faith GROW IN LEAPS AND BOUNDS....We have begun to UNDERSTAND SCRIPTURE like never before. The ENTIRE BIBLE is PROPHECY. Our omniscient God gave us 'types,' 'symbolism,' 'playbooks' through the stories. Notice Samson....in the Book of Judges....He had '7 locks of hair.' Hair on a Nazarite represents the 'branches.' Yahshua came from Nazareth. Netzer means branch. Samson loses his strength....when? When his 'hair' or 'branches' are SHORN/CUT OFF. Samson was a 'dirty' Nazarite. Most don't even notice that he ate honey from a corpse. That was UNCLEAN. And, he gave of it to his family. Etc., etc., etc. Start noticing what our God has given us!!! Look at the Song of Deborah. It is prophecy. Look at Daniel 7:25....It's the BAD GUY THAT CHANGES GOD'S LAW....Or, seeks to. Because NOBODY can change any jot or tittle from my God's law...UNTIL HE SAYS SO. At Jesus/Yahshua's death, GOD HIMSELF CHANGED the priesthood system, when He split the veil from the top to the bottom. There will no more ever be an earthly Levitical priesthood that is sanctioned by YHWH God. The priesthood went BACK TO THE PEOPLE....of the marriage covenant. See the unfolding of Mt. Sinai and how THE PEOPLE AGREED TO OBEY AND KEEP THE COVENANT. This is the marriage covenant. It requires 2 parties. So much symbolism. So much that our God has given to us. And, what do we do? We seek to ELEVATE OURSELVES....and talk about another group of people.....as if we ourselves, and all of mainstream Christianity with it's MANY DENOMINATIONS....and Church SPLITS....because of interpretation or just plain ol' lukewarm pushing out the ON FIRE believers. And, of course....the word, "CULT" will do it. That'll scare everyone plain out of their senses. That'll keep the believers from even LOOKING at WHY these LATTER DAYS SAINTS are leaving the LUKEWARM CHURCH. That'll keep believers observing the 'Venerable Day of the Sun'....and there'll be NO GUILT in keeping a mock 'Saturnalia' each year....and just put another name/label on 'Ishtar/Easter' and call it 'Resurrection Day.' That'll fix it. Ever notice that God NEVER CHASTISES HIS PEOPLE FOR 'KEEPING' HIS LAW OR COMMANDMENTS???? But, He does say, Matthew 7:23, "And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS!’" For true seekers, look up what GOD SAYS is LIGHT, THE LAMP, SIN, and so many other pertinent understandings coming out of the New Testament. And, that reminds me, read Jeremiah 31 again. The whole purpose of the soft heart of flesh is so that we will OBEY HIM. And, Acts 5:32, we are told that the HOLY SPIRIT IS GIVEN TO THOSE WHO 'OBEY.' Oh, and Acts 15, notice that the reason only a couple of things were mentioned for new believers to do....was BECAUSE.....they would have MOSES PREACHED....i.e. they would 'learn the law' as they grew as believers....just like we do today in Church. We let people GROW in understanding and if they are sincere, the Holy Spirit will lead them as they learn what God expects. *Caps for emphasis only.

For the same reason Christians say that committing adultery or being gay is a sin (which Jesus and Paul say in the Gospel because they followed the Torah) is the same reason people who follow the Torah today (which means instructions not laws) believe following pagan holidays is wrong. He says in Deuteronomy: “You must not worship the Lord your God the way other nations worship their gods.” -Deuteronomy 12:31 If He is the same God today as yesterday and Jesus himself followed the Torah and the feasts , why is it okay for us to pick and choose what we want to follow? God loves us and knows that when we open up ourselves to paganism, it can have all sorts of spiritual consequences. Do you know that people are more likely to commit suicide on Christmas? Did you know that Easter is based or of sex goddess who was a bunny and had eggs? It also keeps us from understanding that part of Jesus fulfilling the scripture was through his birth on the feasts of tabernacles (coming up soon and is so much fun!) The same thing with bacon. He says not to eat bacon to the Israelites because God created all living things and pigs will eat anything and they don’t have the additional stomachs like other animals to digest which make pork very bad for us! I agree it’s not right to judge and many of these people (which include me) follow the Torah because I trust God knows best and simply want others to know the truth which is His truth.

@annchovey2089 Col 2:16 doesn't mean the Messiah is an orphaned greco-roman Son as the church has taught...(all the church is the same, the difference is how, when and which false gods they worship). Col 2:15 say very clear that Jesus is "the image of the invisible God, the Fistborn of all creation"; two separate Persons. Christianity uses selected verses, very conveniently, to support their sistematic doctrines. The problem with systematic is that if one part of the system falls, the whole system falls too, and becomes unreliable. If Jesus is the Firstborn of the invisible God that means He was begotten by a higher not created being. Col 1: 3 "we give thanks to God, the FATHER of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always...." The notion of Jesus being God is unsustainable, since the two Persons appears separated in the whole so called by the church New Testament. The letter cited was address to the Colossian believers not to us, although it serves us to understand God's salvation plan through Jesus; opposed to the letter to the Corinthians where Paul had to start from scratch.

Exactly!! Evangelical pastors are terrified of HRM not bc it's dangerous(while some sects of it are also not Biblical but instead are built on the Talmud which is as much nonsense to followers of Christ as Catholic traditions are) but bc if Christians were doing what God called them to do and read for themselves, the whole Bible, they would see the truth too and then hold them to account. Just like just before the Protestant Reformation there was shaming and fear-mongering and threats to those who wanted to read the Word for themselves, now-a-days we have grown so lazy as a culture of Christians that we know nothing of scripture and it's meaning or relevance, and in an ironic twist we depend solely on what we hear even when we don't have to. I say this with repentance bc I was one of them. people would be shocked to know that DL Moody was a strong believer that Torah and Sabbath and the 10 commandments mattered. His original writings show it but shortly after his death the evangelical Pauline machine changed his work and rewrote the belief of his colleges. Even Martin Luther is on record for having issues with Paul as well as many early American pastors, theologians and Presidents(Thomas Jefferson and Adams esp). I didn't find or join the HRM and I care nothing for those labels, but I did start reading the OT like it matters to God bc it does and He has blessed me so much in understanding of how it all fits together like you said with the feasts and festivals and how Jesus is the complete fulfillment of those set up thousands of years earlier. It is so faith building. You can not say God spent so much time(thousands of years) setting up and teaching His people what it means to be obedient and then send His son to die bc it was that important but then the moment He dies and rises none of those laws of obedience are important to God anymore...that's literally insanity bc God doesn't change.His son didn't die for something that didn't matter. His son said it matters so much that nothing in the law will change until He returns. He was the sacrifice, not the "ignore everything that came before" messenger. We are no longer bound to the consequence of sin through Christ blood but we are still bound to obey God's law out of love and born out of our faith. What on Earth do people think sin is? Jesus said to love God is to obey his commands and His commands are clear. Sabbath is one of those commands and how do we find out what Sabbath means- from God not from poorly constructed arguments from a confusing Paul. Listen to the men who knew and walked with Christ. Paul didn't come on the scene for almost 10 years after Christ resurrected. For people who can't discern and read I understand this is overwhelming and so I encourage you to pray about that overwhelm and trust that God will help you. Finding a site like Jesus' Words Only is helpful for scriptural and historical context and something like the Bible recap to go along with your OT readings will really help too. Like you said, I understand the prophecies so much better now and why Jesus' words were enough. Some people are going to meet Jesus with a lot of Paul's words that got twisted by people unknowingly doing the work of the enemy. I'm not saying Paul is the bad guy here but I am saying that people have been using Paul's confusing style of communication(Peter's words not mine) to convolute and degrade the Word of God. Once you see it you can't unsee it. Some people will go to their graves defending modern interpretations of Paul's easy living message without ever even fact checking it against our actual Messiah. It's sad and it hits me to my core that I was there myself in ignorance.

What I have seen in my research is that most Messianic assemblies are made up of non-jewish believers wanting to be more Jewish. That's kind of the same problem with the Hebrew Roots movement when we emphasized the importance of being Jewish and supporting levitical festivals and Mosaic laws over faith in Jesus Christ. According to scripture all churches are Messianic churches. There should be no divisions. It matters not what you were before being born again only that we are all one in Christ now.

In John 15:9-10 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” Following the feast days, trying to follow the law/commandments of God, sabbath, and choosing to eat clean are not done because I believe it will save me (Jesus Christ/Yeshua is the only way). I try to follow God in this way to show love to Him, because it is a relationship. I am a Christian who believes it is important to follow the example of Christ. I am not ashamed of the name of Jesus (because to invalidate his name would also mean that the name I called to to save me is invalid and call into question my salvation). I use both Yeshua and Jesus. I believe that to use the fringe of a movement to paint all Torah observant or Hebrew roots believers is wrong.

Agreed. I choose to obey God's commands out of love and respect. I'm not saved by my obedience. I'm so grateful for the gift He has given us by of Jesus, our Messiah. I made this choice simply by reading the Bible. I had never heard of anyone obeying Torah before I picked up the Bible and asked God to guide me to truth. We don't meet with a TO fellowship on Sabbath. We worship God as a family, and we rest at home. We observe His feasts with others, because He has asked us to and because we love Him. We refuse unclean meats because He knows His creation better than we do. When I stopped listening to others teachings on the Bible and really started listening to God while actually reading it for myself... it opened up. I've realized that these instructions lead to health and happiness. Most importantly, they teach us how to love God and others.

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice.” Matthew 23:1-3 If the Law was nailed to the cross then why would Jesus tell His followers to do and observe everything the scribes and Pharisees were preaching from the seat of Moses? Do you know what was being read from the seat of Moses? The Torah. Jesus Himself wanted us to continue doing and observing everything that was being read from the Torah. If not, then He would have told His followers to completely disregard everything the scribes and Pharisees were preaching. Instead, He said to do and observe what they were preaching but disregard their actions because they weren’t practicing what they were preaching. They were preaching Torah yet adding extra things onto it (which is where the Talmud comes from). The Bible says we are to walk as Jesus walked. How did he walk? He kept all of God’s commandments. He kept the Torah. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” Matthew 7:21-23 “And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.” 1 John 2:3-6

@@195409ify It was not written in Hebrew originally. There is no proof of that. We do have it written in Aramaic (Peshitta) and other languages, but the original was written in Ancient Greek, as most of the ancient world was fluent in multiple languages and there were many Gentiles who lived in Judea. There is evidence the ancient Jews knew Ancient Greek. Hebrew was even less commonly spoken during that time.. Aramaic and Greek became the common language for the Jews a few centuries before the first century A.D. This you can research and find from many biblical scholars; also research the Hellenist movement that occurred in the 3rd century BC, when the Greek Septuagint began to be written. I’ve looked into this intensely. There is no reason to distrust the New Testament, especially with the amount of manuscripts we have on it and different witnesses written in different languages yet all of it has the same content.

The feasts are a major part of understanding why Jesus is the Messiah. They were prophetic foreshadows of what has and is to come. I’ll post another comment in more detail. I understand the confusion with Galatians but either Paul was wrong about the law (which by the way the Torah means instructions, not law, these are Gods ways on how to best live) because nothing he says should conflict with what Jesus said OR we have a wrong misunderstanding, which is the more likely reason. You have to understand that during this time there was (and still was) very legalistic Jews and rabitical laws that they added on top of the Torah which is also wrong. In Deuteronomy it says: “Do not add nor subtract to what I have commanded you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.” -Deuteronomy 4:12 Paul was talking about not returning to these legalistic and radical laws, not advising the Jewish believers to disregard the Torah. God gave us these instructions because he loves us and he knows that by keeping them we are spiritually protected and have the opportunity to receive Gods best and stay on.

He did this to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. in Christ and not by works of the Law, because by works of the Law no one will be justified. So we, too, have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law, because by works of the Law no one will be justified. Galatians 3:25 Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. I appreciate the scriptural reference, it’s always important! But I believe there is one major passage by Jesus himself: 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. -Matthew 5:17-20 I believe the point you are trying to make is that our righteousness is no longer dependent on us keeping perfectly the instructions given in the Torah (by the way the original translation of Matthew 5:-17 is not law but Torah which means instructions), because Jesus is the Messiah and paid the price for our sins and through him we have forgiveness (if we ask for it) Which is correct,but Jesus never said we could do away with the Torah and the prophets and said NONE of it will go away until heaven and earth disappear and until ALL is accomplished. Heaven and earth are still here and Jesus has not come back for the second time yet! He even warns about teaching against this saying those will be the least in the Kingdom. Again, not saying you may not enter the Kingdom but it is Gods desire for us to follow His commands because he made us and knows what is best for us. We follow them because we love and trust him. Jesus continues in Matthew 5 to not only reaffirm the instructions in the Torah, regarding murder, adultery, divorce etc but says they are even stricter. (Look at Ten Commandments and instructions from Moses in Leviticus and Deuteronomy) Every passage you referenced are in the letters which begs the question then, is Paul wrong (nothing Paul says should contradict Jesus) or are we misunderstanding this? Most likely, is our misunderstanding which also can be because of mistranslations. What Paul most likely was arguing against is the legalism of Pharisees or Sadducees (King James replaced many of these words with the general word Jews which causes a huge misunderstanding) who continued to keep the newest believers thinking their righteousness and eternity was based on them keeping the law rather than understanding that Jesus not only paid for our sins but by resurrecting gave us the Holy Spirit that is our advocate: But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. John 16:7 Paul and revelations also warns us about: 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 12" 1 Corinthians 6: 9-20 Where did Paul get this from? The Torah! The very reason Christian’s are against these things today is because of what Paul and Jesus said which again only reinforces why the Torah and prophets are still relevant and most people don’t realize that they reference these instructions because Jesus knew the word of God perfectly and Paul had previously been an expert in the word.

Hi Allie, thank you for the discussion! I was raised in the Church of Christ (my husband was raised Catholic) and now our family is whole Bible believers or what you would call Torah Observant/Hebrew Roots. This was as a result of reading scripture for ourselves and allowing the scriptures to interpret themselves. At the time (9 years ago) no one believed like we did so we weren’t following a preacher or anything like that. We just read and responded. In short, we do not believe that our works/Torah can save us. Yeshua (this is how we have come to know Him as, but would NEVER condemn others for calling Him Jesus) is the only way to salvation. As a response to being brought back into covenant with God, we CHOOSE to adhere to the marriage vows (ketubah) by keeping (guarding) His (those He takes ownership of) commands and Feasts. We are in a marriage covenant with Yahweh and through His commands, statutes, and Feasts we come to understand the Father’s character, and intent towards His children. I can say that I am deeply in love with Him and who He is. It hurts me that it took sending His son to die for us to fully understand who He’s always been, but He knew from the beginning of time that Messiah would be needed for us to fully know. Being on this walk, I can say that I’m so grateful to see the connection between new and old whereas before I did not have the eyes to see. Also, I can very much echo the concerns that you all shared. There is no centralization for what we all believe and it hurts me when brothers and sisters condemn because they don’t believe as we do. Division is something that concerns my family and I and we do our best to stay away from as it’s pretty bad in this walk. Thanks again! May Abba bless you and keep you!

There’s nothing wrong with having a reverence for these Hebrew rooted festivals and customs but there was a very heavy emphasis by a large group of people that those who did not follow the movement would be punished for it. Looking back there was such a bondage created by the strict observance to Mosaic and even Talmud laws and it traces back to a misunderstanding of the New Testament and our freedom in Christ’s fulfillment of the law. Had I been more versed on the New Testament at the time, i would’ve been more cautious in my following of the Hebrew roots movement.

@@GratiaPrima_You're so misled. I'm sorry. Christmas was stolen from the God of the Sun by the corrupt Catholic Church. They are probably one of the largest contributes to deception and turning people away from Christ. Easter is based on Ishtar. Many cultures that celebrated it would purposely procreate as much as possible to have infants to sacrifice. You clearly haven't done your research but blindly trust random people at church or whatever than to trust in the Lord and the word of God. Jesus calls us to continue following Ten Commandments....as much as we can. There is nothing against the holy days. But against old customs such as the way they dresses and social customs that applied value for the times in context... How many versions of the Bible do you study? How many translations? One that was written 200 years ago? That's not very long ago...and there are quite a few mistranslations between many versions, even the KJV. There is importance to many of these where context is required to properly define the message. It's another mystery why this would happen. But what makes sense to you? To disregard this as a saint, or to look into this and start paying attention and growing your faith? You must keep the sword of the spirit polished and sharp. God gives us tools and it's up to us to disregard them or to waste them. One example is the commandment not to kill; it's "murder" specifically...which in context to Hebrew was a term of unjust killing VS killing to eat an animal, or to sacrifice one (which the Gospel says is no longer required, due to the sacrifice of Jesus..) , could kill out of self defense, of course God ordered the Hebrews to kill those that had betrayed His repeatedly and needed to be removed from the Earth at that time. Another difference- I don't believe God would ask anyone to do that today. But we are still allowed to eat meat, allowed to defend ourselves and our families. The laws of justice they used to have to trace down and kill a murderer rapist etc are also no longer necessarily. But keep in mind we are told in the Gospel to forgive without being foolish. We should forgive endlessly if possible, but not to keep poor company. If people refuse to heed warnings and to change harmful ways we are actually told to have wisdom and discernment and to stay away from such people if they repeatedly refuse reason. Jesus has two cheeks on his face. That's what the "turn the other cheek" was likely alluding to. We are called to judge one another as Christians as well as others, but to be more gentle of people that do not claim to know the Lord for they are without the tools we gain as Christians. We are simply told not to be hypocritical when we do judge. We will all be judged before God. Forgiveness does not equate to a lack of consequence. I pray that you seek the truth. ❤

Law is our “schoolmaster” This truth from Galatians is powerfully: “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:24-25). In the Hebrew, “schoolmaster” means “paidagogos,” an extremely strict pre-kindergarten teacher who comes in and teaches the very young student right and wrong so the child is ready to begin school. Law is the foundation to Grace, which was purchased with the blood of the promised Redeemer. Those whom Israel had permission to stone to death under law, we must now love under Grace. I second the recommendation to interview Sean Griffin from Kingdom in Context. These guys misrepresented MANY aspects of this movement, particularly the comments about legalism and the “us vs. them” divisiveness. It’s the skeptics who are sounding the alarm and casting judgements without deeper understanding. The Christians I know who follow Torah and observe God’s feasts are humble and more genuine followers of Christ than anyone I know. Further, the Biblical feasts are not “Jewish” feasts, rather they were appointed by God as part of an *everlasting* covenant to be observed by his people as a BLESSING, not a burden. Choosing to rest on the Sabbath to honor God’s command and meditate on his Word is a blessing, and it’s utter foolishness to compare it to cultish behavior. I will pray for greater discernment among Christians on this matter.

Yeshua is Jesus and I'm curious to know how it contradicts the Gospel. Jesus' name is similar to Joshua, it's actually not an issue of Roman. I have done a ton of research into learning more about the "Christian" holiday like Christmas...that was chosen by the CATHOLIC church that took the day of the Sun God to celebrate the son of God when in reality there's a ton of evidence for Jesus' birthday being during the festival of Sukkot. There is also a lot more symbolism following that. The Bible has much power not only in the literal translations but also the obvious symbolic patterns. I'd be very wary of false teachers and that's what this smells of. I look forward to changing my comment if this episode gives what appears to be trustworthy... Right away I'd like to point out Judaism is not Christianity. Many of the laws of the Torah are what are to be upheld as Christians as Jesus said as much. But also there are of course things like having certain clothing and social customs that don't uphold considering the Gospel. Celebrating the holy days is VERY Christian as well. The Holy Days are different than holidays such as Hannakah that is fun to celebrate as it has Biblical roots- but is not a holy day. I do not feel I am required to celebrate holy days (nor uphold holy days of reverence) but I do so with joy as a Christian. Just as Messianic Jews do so. There's a difference. If you are Christian and still celebrate "Easter" (Ishtar), Christmas, HALLOWEEN.... it's time to get introspective and decide if you truly wish to study and folkoe the Gospel in truth or if you are just trying to play a superficial role. I do think there are ways to celebrate some of these holidays in ways that are low key and for nostalgia, and to honor the beauty created by Hod in the seasons, his messages of giving, etc. But they are NOT holy days and are not to be venerated Luke warm followers are in dire need of decisiveness. And to celebrate these consumerist and Catholic holidays but reject holidays in the Bible- pretty hypocritical. Plank in the eye for sure. ❤ God bless, may you seek the truth (Jesus). The way is straight and narrow friends.

You guys need to actually interview a person who keeps Torah and follows Yeshua as men and women who understand that they have been grafted into the commonwealth of Israel. It's never been about earning salvation through keeping Torah, not even in ancient Israel. Salvation was given to them (Exodus from slavery in Egypt through the blood of the lamb on the doorposts and crossing the red sea) and then they were given the Torah to live by. Christianity today is so far removed from what it originally was that you can't even recognize it. Torah observance is growing because the Spirit of Holiness is calling the children of God back to His ways and they are obeying His voice. We might not have it all figured out and we certainly don't agree on everything, but we do agree on the fact that we're saved by grace through the completed work by Yeshua on the cross and we obey Him (work out our own salvation with fear and trembling) by keeping His commandments as written in the Scripture, which Paul himself said is profitable for correction, reproof and instruction in righteousness. Don't try to take that away, because you're working with the enemy of the saints by doing so. Don't try to teach against the very Word of God, or else you will find yourself an enemy of Him, which you do not want. Yeshua himself said that those who say to Him, "Lord, Lord, did we not do great works in Your name?", He will say to them, depart from me, I never knew you, you who practice lawlessness. Sin is transgression of the law according to 1 John 3:4.

Returning to the Hebraic roots is a big danger, because most people aren't well versed and will without knowing deny early hebraic Christian roots in order to embrace pre-Christ traditions or even rabbinic traditions. I agree, modern american Christianity doesn't look biblical. However in 2 000 years traditions evolve... If you wanna get closer to the traditions and culture of that time, then it is a better idea to look into Chaldeans, Melkites, Antiochean Orthodox, and even Copts, rather than adopting the old laws or rabbinic nonsense.

Seventh-day Adventist keep the Sabbath because according to their prophet Ellen G white the Sabbath is the seal of God and Sunday worship will be the mark of the beast. They believe that God will judge us by the the ten commandments, especially the fourth commandment, and they see as the old covenant as eternal, which is in complete contradiction with New testament teaching. They believe that Jesus is in heaven now judging people in the church according to the ten commandments, especially the fourth commandment. Ellen G white also taught that eating meat makes you like an animal and hinders your prayers. Oh, she also said this all came directly from God. They consider Ellen G white to be the spirit of prophecy that has spoken of in the book of Revelation (which gives her her supposed authority) when it is very clear in the book of Revelation that the spirit of prophecy was something that John and his brothers had in their day, and it was not something to come. She saw any Christian who does not adhere to adventism as being ultimately part of Babylon. She also stated that ultimately the sins of all humanity will be placed on Satan before he is cast into hell. Therefore making Satan our ultimate sin bear. She also taught that atonement was not completed at the cross, and that Jesus continued his atonement work in heaven. She also taught that basically God had to vindicate his ten commandments to the universe how to prove to Satan that he was a good God. Ellen G white with a sick and twisted woman who abused the word of God for her own purposes, and led many people astray. She was a tool of Satan, and her followers to this day use a term "present truth" to try to get around the fact that her teaching is directly contradicts New testament scriptures. If they have a Seventh-Day Adventist on, they should treat them as a cult member, and not as a Christian

I will also say, as I learned this lesson, if you are trying to “remind” someone of the truth and they have not read the Bible for themselves, you’re not actually reminding them because they don’t know it to be reminded of it. You’re actually teaching them which the Bible says that God will judge more harshly. In other words, be careful, make sure you are teaching correctly, not according to any doctrine but according to our God, or just tell people to read the Bible for themselves and develop a relationship with their God, He teaches better than any of us anyway.

There were even additional dietary laws that weren't even mentioned in the old testament. For instance, we weren't allowed to eat chocolate. We had to eat carob instead, because HWA believed chocolate caused fornication. Out of the blue one Sabbath, women were told that they were no longer allowed to shave their legs. HWA's young wife shaved her legs, and after she left him, women in the church were no longer allowed to do the same things she did. All the women who were of age were required to go to church before Passover and wash a strange man's feet. My Dad (who was not a member) hated it when my mom would go do that, but he tolerated it. Thanks for posting this interview. I almost got looped into this movement myself through the Torah class, which is a study of the whole Bible with a Hebrew roots perspective. I was interested in learning more about Christianity through its Hebraic origins and I thought this was a good way to do that. Unfortunately, what I began to understand was a tendency to not view the Bible as a whole, but instead to either ignore or reinterpret Paul's writings about not being under the law but being under grace. It's unfortunate, because I think that Christianity could benefit from knowing more about the ancient Jewish culture. We could benefit greatly by celebrating Jesus in the Jewish feasts, because the feasts are all about Jesus. He is the meaning behind all of the...the fulfilled and unfulfilled. But the Hebrew Roots folks tend to take it way too far and make it more about the Torah and less about knowing our Lord Jesus Christ.

Being 'under the law' is when the law is able to hold hold us for violating it. If we are driving down the road and the posted law (speed limit) is 55 mph and we are not going over 55 mph the 'law' cannot hold us...because we are not violating that law. If we go over 55 mph the law now has power over us and can hold us...we are under the law. We will come into judgement. Justice and grace is when someone else pays our fine/speeding ticket. We are free to go. While we are free to go, it wouldn't be wise to go out and start speeding again...that same law can again be over us. Let's say the same person pays our fine again and again and again...and we are not repentant, we do not change our speeding ways, instead we have decided we like speeding OR that no-matter what we will be 'forgiven' our speeding fines (presumptuous sin). Eventually we may die while we are speeding (if we live that way). We do not used God's grace as license to sin. *Whatever* God has said is sin is still sin and it does separate us from God if we do not go to Jesus for cleansing and instead live in sin. If we deny what God has said is sin, deceiving ourselves, how can we be forgiven for these sins? It is one thing to be ignorant of what God desires but another to reject what God desires because _after hearing/reading His written word_ we deceive ourselves into believing something is acceptable. We know God is not a respecter of persons. We can see what God desires for us to do and not do. If we obey Him in these things we are not 'under the law'...it can't hold us because we are not continuing to violate it and if we do fall into sin we have an Advocate. We must confess those sins and He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But if we continue to violate God's law, living in sin, we are in for a rude awakening.

@@LoriLev1107 I'm not sure I did. Yes, everything is about knowing God and loving God through Jesus Christ, who is God. The Torah is God's instruction and tells us about His character and how to love Him. Jesus is the perfect example and yes we are under grace and not under the law/held by the law _if we are walking in obedience._ Torah is not in conflict with Jesus...it doesn't just point to him and then conclude once we find him. His life demonstrates we must walk in obedience to God and His word/torah. Yes, many in HR and Christianity (both) misinterpret Paul's writings. I am a Christian who follows Jesus which means I also follow Torah. I am not under the law (held by it, in fear of judgement) _unless I am walking in disobedience._ We can easily deceive ourselves into thinking something is o.k. for us when God has already let us know it is not o.k. in His word. Many in H.R. see that and are trying to obey, unfortunately some get led astray by false teachers who do as you said, misinterpret Paul... _but the same is true in mainstream Christianity._ For example, we are not supposed to be eating unclean animals and mainstream Christianity tells us otherwise, even though Isaiah is very clear that at the second coming those doing so will be destroyed. So whether in HR or mainstream there are deadly deceptions. Our eyes must be on Jesus...which also means we will be obeying God's commandments...both. (The saints sing the song of Moses _and_ the song of the Lamb) The law is good if one uses it lawfully (correctly). If used correctly, the law teaches us more about Jesus, _not less._ I do understand what you are communicating....focusing on 'the law' can cause one to take their eyes off of Jesus (that is not using the law 'lawfully'). At the same time believing in Jesus without obeying God's instructions is _just_ as deadly.

There's way too many strawman arguments being made. If you want to reach those like us, you should hold the accurate position, and refute that. The statement about those who "believe one law applies to Jew & Gentile" is a great example - that's what the Bible says: (Passover, Tabernacles) Exodus 12:49 - "One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the *stranger that sojourneth* among you." Exodus 12:19 - "For whoever eats what is leavened, that person-*whether a stranger or a citizen of the country*-shall be cut off from the community of Israel." 1 Corinthians 5:8 - "Let us *therefore celebrate the festival* (Passover), not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth." (Sabbath) Exodus 20:10 - "Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, *nor any foreigner residing in your towns."* Mark 2:27 - "Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for MAN (not just Jews), not man for the Sabbath." Exodus 31:17 - "It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed." Genesis 2:3 - "God blessed the 7th day and made it holy." (Sacrifices) Leviticus 17:8-9 "And you shall say to them, 'Any one of the house of Israel, or *of the strangers who sojourn among them,* who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice and does not bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting to offer it to the LORD, that man shall be cut off from his people.'" Leviticus 22:18 - "Speak to Aaron and his sons and all the people of Israel and say to them, When any one of the house of Israel or *of the sojourners in Israel* presents a burnt offering as his offering, for any of their vows or freewill offerings that they offer to the LORD." (All Laws In General) Numbers 15:15-16 - "For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you *and for the stranger who sojourns with you,* a statute forever throughout your generations. You *and the sojourner shall be alike before the LORD.* One law and one rule shall be for you *and for the stranger* who sojourns with you." Leviticus 24:22 - "You shall have the same rule *for the sojourner* and for the native, for I am the LORD your God." Ezekiel 47:22 - "You shall allot it as an inheritance for yourselves *and for the sojourners who reside among you* and have had children among you. They shall be to you as native-born children of Israel. With you, *they shall be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel.*" Much more could be said, like about the wildness of constantly putting emphasis upon how Torah observers don't see each thing the same (that's the same for all 40,000+ Christian denominations), like sacred namers who all of us disagree with, falsehoods about what it means that there's no temple or what being unclean even meant (when in fact there is lol - human body - heavenly temple) or just completely misunderstanding the positions for why Holy Days are even a thing for Christians. None of this has to do with salvation, and if there's any law that we should keep that isn't about salvation, it follows even holy days, dietary laws, etc could be included. I'd like to offer myself up for public or private interview and questions to you and your team for the position that God's law is still applicable for today. Only bringing up people who disagree, while certainly has a place, can too often just be a smear campaign that won't reach anyone; but those who already agree. If you did this for a great echo chamber, you succeeded, if you did this to actually help those who believe it - out of respect I kindly say you failed bad!

One thing to note about the Hebrew Movement celebrating biblical feasts is that if it is not done exactly as commanded in the Bible, then it is in vain and a sin. Today, it is impossible to keep the feasts as they are outlined in the Bible. Every feast pointed to Christ; we remember Him now by acknowledging His death and resurrection. By his blood alone, we are saved, not by our own vain works. We Christians rest in the finished work of God, not wrecking our brains to make sure every leavening agent is cleaned from our homes when Jesus has cleaned it all from our hearts. Rest in Him and be set free from the letter of the law.

It is not impossible at all, because God's true Church has observed His festivals ever since He ordained them. That hasn't changed in the last 2 millennia. The ppl who make these kinds of lazy, uninformed justifications is simply trying to avoid taking steps to do what God requires. The fact that Zech. 14 shows Christ enforcing these festivals after He returns means they're supposed to be observed now.

Jesus actually says: “And he answered, s“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your MIND and love your neighbor as yourself.” -Luke 10:27 If you are not “wracking your brain” trying to understand the truth are you loving God with all your mind? It is the first and most important commandment. Secondly Jesus says: 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. The new earth and Heaven have not yet come! Jesus has fulfilled part of the scripture but will not complete it until his second coming. Thus, we absolutely should be obedient to the Torah as Jesus was a Torah abiding Jew and reinforced the Torah throughout the gospels and attended all the feasts. If you are going to use the same train of logic that our rest is in him and his finished work (which I agree with) but fail to acknowledge that God still does call us to be obedient to his word than why can’t people have gay marriage and commit adultery? You are then misunderstanding the law and that he placed it to protect us because we know that he loves us and protects us and made us so knows what’s best. If you commit adultery or were once gay, you can find forgiveness through Christ’s death and resurrection but it does not mean you can continue doing whatever you want and say you are resting in him. Additionally, you are right that right now we no longer need to sacrifice on Passover as Jesus was the Passover lamb. We also are not currently gathering in Jerusalem for some of these feasts but we are rehearsing for when Jesus does return and when the new Heaven and earth because everyone will be gathering for these feasts. We are not celebrating them in vain and sin but rather in great anticipation and rehearsal for Jesus return!

I practised Hebrew roots for about 2 years. I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit guided me to be set free from it by reading Pauls letters, especially tbe book of Galatians. It is a slippery slope. Started out as an act of trying to show my love and adoration for Jesus..knowing im not adding to my salvation, but wanting to be pleasing to Him..soon I started to feel the yoke of the rest of the law I am not following..Paul said be careful to return back to the law, as if you beging to keep one you need to keep all. There is liberty in Christ, when you walk by the Spirit. Jesus made me free from torah observance, and I have never felt so at peace and secure in His finished work for me. There is pride in torah keeping..without wanting to, I started to look down on these 'christians' that did not know truth of torah observance..i became so abrasive!! I am very alarmed at how some arms of the hebrew root movement eventually go so deep down the rabbit hole that Paul' letters becomes seen as a 'antichrist' movement..i have friends still in HRM who now completely disgard all the new testament books except for the gospels. It is a utter perversion of the true gospel. I earnestly pray that people caught in this perversion will see the true sabbath rest which they have IN JESUS, and that the contend to stay in His rest ( Hebrew 4). Knowing the truth about the false christian holidays, I have not returned to celebrating them, and I have learned all about the feasts and how it points to Jesus. I do not celebrate the feasts as per the torah, but I am always joyfully aware of each one. Be blessed, be untangled, and step into true Sabbath rest with Yeshua our King!!

The vast majority of Christians have never read the Old Testament in its entirety and it's a shame, especially the five books of Moses, the Torah, which is the Hebrew word that is translated as "law" in the New Testament and the Old testament but it actually best translates as, "instruction", God's instructions for us in keeping His Commandments, which according to Jesus He said, if you love Me, you'll keep My Commandments, especially since He's the One who gave those Holy Commandments in the first place originally to Moses on Mount Sinai with His very Finger and these Feast Day's instructions are explicitly laid out as God's Feasts, not the children of Israel's feasts, not Jewish feasts, but the Feasts of the Most High God, His Feasts and He also States very clearly that they are for an Everlasting Covenant, Exodus 12:14,17 and Exodus 31:16, which means Forever, an Eternal Covenant between Him and His people that choose to follow Him, who Truly desire Fellowship and Relationship with Him as well as all the Nations of the earth who were and still are invited to participate in the Feasts and celebrate to this very day, people whom He calls to be Holy, as He said, because He is Holy, Leviticus 21:8, Exodus 19:6, 1 Peter 1:15-16, which means, set apart and to be different, as these feast days are also called Holy and set apart and very different from other days throughout the year, specifically to rehearse or remind us about the Messiah who Jesus was and is and is yet to be rhe fulfillment of the Feast of Trumpets at His Second Coming. So this is all both rehearsal and remembrance as we commemorate the Feasts and the Holy Convocations throughout the year and contemplate our commitment and promise to follow the Lord's call and mandate to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and visit the orphans and widows in their affliction, as well as those in jail, to not just be hearers of the Word, but also doers of the Word because as the Book of James says, basically in all 5 suggested chapters, that faith without works is dead. We are definitely saved by Grace, not by works, lest anyone should boast, so that we can do good works for God and His Glory, who through the Gift of His Holy Spirit, He has made us able to do good works, for by our fruits shall we be known to be true followers or not of Jesus Christ, even Yeshua Hamashiach, our Savior, Redeemer and Great Healer from all of our sin and selfishness. He is the same yesterday, today and forever and if there truly is nothing new under the sun, as these people quoted tthat scripture in this video, then there is no New Covenant, it is just a fulfillment of the Old Covenant that Almighty God gave to Moses and consequently to us and not one jot nor tittle has has been done away with but rather has all been fulfilled in Christ Jesus except for the True Feast of Trumpets and when that is finally completed at His Second Coming very soon at the Last Shofar (Trumpet), then we will commemorate that day throughout the Millennium and through all Eternity as He once again will Tabernacle and Reign with us as Emmanuel, God with us, forever and ever, amen

Usually love your videos, but this one is not an accurate depiction of Hebrew Roots so of course your definition sounds deceptive of believers, if it were true. Sure if it equates anything "needing to do" to earn salvation then yes that would be a worked based cult, but many fellowships uphold that salvation is through faith alone in Christ, and do not preach "you must." Also it's not about "rejecting" western holidays and names, it's about celebrating something better.

If you look in the accounts in the book of ACTS, The apostles and Paul were consistently keeping the sabbaths and the feast days. This was after the death and resurrection of Jesus. Paul, being a Torah master, defended the law, and western civilization has twisted his words. It has nothing to do with Hebrew roots. It’s written in plain English right in our Bible.

Andrew opened by stating that he follows the 10 Commandments. One of the commandments is to observe the Sabbath. In the Old Testament, the sabbath was observed Friday sundown until Saturday sundown, it is still observed that way by Jews and the TO crows. Sunday, is the Lords day, which began in the book of Acts. It’s really not the same as sabbath. I don’t think that Andrew really differentiated. When he got into the details of how the Sabbath is observed, Saturday versus Sunday, it made it sound like it’s all really the same thing. In the New Testament, the ninth commandment, to observe the sabbath is the only commandment that is not repeated. Jesus is our Sabbath rest. I believe that, but I think the lack of clarity in the conversation causes more confusion.
@theeternalsbeliever1779 Жыл бұрын
Mar. 2 shows the true Christ saying _the Sabbath_ is His day, so where you are getting this from about Sunday being the Lord's day? It certainly isn't from the same bible that consistently shows God calling the Sabbath His day.
@MK4Hisglory Жыл бұрын
@vintagevirtueswithjen Sunday is not the Lord's day nor did they begin to switch the day in the book of Acts. The only place you could be referring to is Acts 20:7 which says "Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread..." The word "day" is in italics, meaning it was added in by the translators and not in the original text. Also, the word "week" there is from the Greek word Sabaton or Sabbath. All to say that a better understanding of that passage could read "Now on the first sabbath when the disciples came together to break bread..." In the 28 chapters that comprise the book of Acts there are 24 instances where Paul or another one of the apostles is referenced as teaching on the sabbath and/or in the synagogue on sabbath. You can spiritualize away a tangible instruction from God to honor the sabbath (the 4th commandment) just by saying "Jesus is our sabbath rest". I would like to know exactly where you're referring to in the NT that says the sabbath commandment, which is not the 9th, but the 4th commandment, is not repeated. Just because something is not repeated does not make it obsolete. The catholic church purposefully changed the day from Saturday to Sunday during the Council of Laodicea (hmmm, aren't they the church that Yahusha vomits out of his mouth???) in the 300s. They had the audacity to say their authority was above the Bible and changing the sabbath day to Sunday proves that.
@boltingpuppies8 ай бұрын
The sabbath is referred to in the New Testament scriptures (showing it as still being kept) and it is referred to in Hebrews four and referenced/quoted in the Revelation in part. We are to worship the one who made the heavens, earth, sea and all that is in them. That is a part of the sabbath commandment and stated in Revelation. Exodus 20:8-11 "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: *For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day:* _wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."_ Psalm 146:5-6 "Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in *the LORD his God: Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is:* which keepeth truth for ever" The God who made the heaven, earth and sea and all that is in them is the God who then rested from everything He created and made on the seventh day. Genesis 2:1-3 "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made." Sabbath is a sign God gave us _to remind us who the true Creator God is._ This is an eternal sign between God and His people. Exodus 31:13 "Tell the people of Israel: 'Be careful to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a *sign* of the covenant between me and you from generation to generation. It is given *so you may know that I am the LORD,* who makes you holy." Ezekiel 20:20 "and keep my Sabbath days holy, for they are *a sign to remind you that I am the LORD your God."* Someone else is going to come and claim to be the creator but sabbath is a sign between us and God that He is the Creator. That's why we see this warning in Revelation quoting part of Exodus 20:8-11. Revelation 14:7 "and he said with a loud voice, "Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; *worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters."* Rev 10:6 "and swore by *Him who lives forever and ever, WHO CREATED HEAVEN AND THE THINGS IN IT, AND THE EARTH AND THE THINGS IN IT, AND THE SEA AND THE THINGS IN IT,* that there will be delay no longer," When we keep reading in Exodus 20 we see that sabbath is a *perpetual covenant* (without interruption) and that sabbath is *forever.* There is no need to repeat this commandment. God has already said it is perpetual (without interruption) and forever. Exodus 31:16-17 "So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a *_perpetual covenant._* It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel *_forever_** FOR* in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed." Sabbath is an important sign to remind us which god is the true and living God, our God is the God who created the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them _and then rested on the seventh day from everything He created and made._

You are correct in how much variation of belief there is among them all! A common factor my husband and I noticed has been that they all are literally drawn more to the “shadow “ ( as Hebrews call all of the ordinances than the “Essence” Himself! Who is Christ )“. We have determined to continuously share the gospel and make much of the Lord Jesus Christ whenever we are given opportunity with them. Interestingly, on my husband read Galatians with one family and they repented of their direction and abandoning Christ as their only means of hope and salvatiion! They later said it was scripture saying “Oh, you foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you” that opened their eyes! They since then began attending a bible believing church with us! We all must continue to share the gospel and scripture with all who are lost...including the Torah followers who have been enticed away from the Essence to the mere shadows!

The proper translation is for Christ is the Fulfillment of the law for rightouness. Just like how Christ himself said that he didn't come to abolish the law, but to FULFILL it. This passage you quoted is saying that the church in Rome is not following Gods law, they are following their own laws, probably what the learned from the Pharisees, as the pharisees were going around trying to teach people their ways. A lot of Paul's writings are referring to these false teachings. He is not saying that God's law is abolished. He is quite clearly telling them that they need to follow God's law, not mans.

@@mwilliams1308 I disagree with your explication. The Law is fulfilled by Christ Jesus but hollowed from ANY power over my eternal destiny. LORD Jesus Christ." However, " He ( the Father ) made Him ( Christ Jesus), Who knew no sin, to become sin so that we might become the Righteousness of God IN HIM ( Christ Jesus )" 2 Cor 5:21. ( Simul justus et peccator) God's Grace and Mercy provide for me : "In Him ( Christ ) we have Redemption, through His blood, the forgiveness of sins." EPH 1:7 So by Grace, I can be forgiven through the blood of Christ. " He restores my soul. He leads me in the path of Righteousness for His Name's sake." Psalm 23:2. I am being transformed from glory to glory, into the same image of Righteousness. The Law holds no claim on me AT ALL...although by the power of the Holy Spirit, I find myself keeping and respecting God's Law while being FULLY under the New Covenant in Christ. Sola Deo Gloria.

@@theeternalsbeliever1779 Brother /sister At a time without distraction in your life pray and read the book of Galatians in one sitting. Its not a long book. A few excerpts - Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were guarded under law, shut up to faith which was about to be revealed. Gal 3:24 So that the law has been our tutor up to Christ, that we might be justified on the principle of faith. Gal 3:25 But, faith having come, we are no longer under a tutor; Gal 3:26 for ye are all God's sons by faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:27 For ye, as many as have been baptised unto Christ, have put on Christ. Gal 3:28 There is no Jew nor Greek; there is no bondman nor freeman; there is no male and female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus: Gal 3:29 but if *ye* are of Christ, then ye are Abraham's seed, heirs according to promise. It is Not that we no longer fulfill the law but under the new covenant we fulfill it in Christ. The law was to teach us righteousness (and how unrighteous we are) and now righteousness is internal from the sprit working outwards. As the prophets indicated he would Messiah has given us a new covenant - Jeremiah 31:31 - which things Paul discusses in Hebrews Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: We do NOT do things to be righteous but we have righteousness flowing from the spirit which WAS the end goal of the law. Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The components of the law to purge us from sin, making us set apart or holy are all handled by the sacrifice of Christ. That covers all ceremonial laws for purifying and we CANNOT go to them as that would be denying the work of Christ. The moral laws are all still in place. As Christians we cannot sleep with animals, steal, commit adultery , Murder (including our unborn babies) etc BUT we do NOT become more righteous by not doing those things. Instead our righteousness in Christ already achieved by a relationship with him and if real it demands to flow out into our lives fulfilling the law. Please do read Galatians from start to finish - in one sitting to get the whole sense. Chapter divisions and verse divisions are convenient but they are not part of the original scriptures. Reading whole books conveys context and meaning that chapter and verses sometimes break up.

@markwalker1741 No one is saying that we are justified by keeping torah. We are saved only by Yah's grace through faith in His Son, Yahusha. Works unto obedience of his commands are the evidence (fruit) of our salvation. "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." Yahusha speaking in John 14:15. James 2:18-26 says "But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”-and he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead." Abraham's faith came first, right? He believed unto Yah and it was credited to him as righteousness. THEN, he was obedient to follow Yah's instructions. Faith and obedience are not opposed to one another, they go together.

I think this is the right way. There can be meaning in observing the biblical holidays, but to say that everyone MUST observe them for salvation is not right. Though maybe many Christians still treat the weekly sabbath in the Ten Commandments with more reverence than other biblical holidays. I don't know that I would call them entirely "man-made" traditions because they were originally given by God in the Bible, but a lot of traditions that develop around them are man-made and subject to interpretation. In terms of Jesus' name, I don't think it's right to say that you must use a certain name, but it can help to understand what Jesus' name was in his own time too. "Jesus" in English was not written with a "J" until the 1600s, and even then it was still pronounced as an "I" and not a modern "J" for a long time. Given that, laypeople might want to know what he was called before then.

The Torah does not apply to everyone equally. But even Gentiles have parts of Torah that apply to them. To say the Torah has no relevancy is ignorance of biblical teaching. This episode shows a proper lack of understanding of Galatians and the book of Hebrews. Jesus was a Jew. If he canceled the Torah he would have discredited himself as the messiah. Deuteronomy 13. The same goes for Paul. Jesus did not start a new religion. That developed over time. To suggest otherwise is unbiblical.

I didn't start believing in Jesus from my Judaism to fall back into bondage of keeping a Law (which IS good) that I cannot keep. I'm befuddled over why people (particularly Gentiles) would choose to try and keep a Law that Christ fulfilled. Full disclosure, I DO wear a kippah when I go to church, but that is my identifying with my heritage...not out of obligation or "prove" to God how obedient I am.

It wasn’t that we can’t do the commands. It was that we CANNOT SAVE OURSELVES from death! It was because we tried to do commands according to our flesh and our own understanding and added our traditions. It was because rebellion was more attractive than obedience and because people call obedience legalism. Are you implying that God created a law that trapped people into death. What a sick and twisted way to view God. No. He created safety nets in a world that is full of wickedness and told them if they would stay within those nets, they would have blessings. But nope, they chose their own ways…. Just like Eve. It’s so simple but people don’t see it!! Messiah was the gift that we didn’t deserve and yet we still thumb our noses at the Father and think we can live willy nilly because his ways are burdensome. But that’s not the truth now, is it?

Praying for you because I used to be a Baptist. From the time I was born again at 6 years old I knew I was supposed to be eating biblically clean. I asked my parents over and over how come we didn't do these holidays. I over and over heard the Christian answers as an adult I had to hear it from the other side. I dove into my Bible I started researching everything extensively. Christianity has been taking many scriptures out of context. Many scriptures have been changed. The order of the King James Bible was changed. I wanted to know what the Hebrew said. I didn't want somebody else's Christian seminary school perspective of what the Hebrew said. What it really said is what I wanted to know. Rabbi Eric tokajer has a great book called Galatians in context amongst many other books. I'm praying for the body of believers to have their eyes opened and their hearts and ears. I'm also praying for them to start doing Sabbath on the original I'm also praying for them to start doing Sabbath on the day that the creator established. A big kicker for me when I realized iniquities meant law law mentaura the law. Jesus said not one tittle not one jat would pass away from the law until heaven and earth pass. Paul said should we abolish the law?! Heaven forbid! He gave rules to people for beginner preparation on things to do and the Christian world has taken it as this is as far as we must go. Jesus added to the law. Whose name is actually Yeshua even in English translation It translates to Joshua. There is no book of James there is no James. His name is Jacob. You cannot sacrifice on alter's dedicated to false gods and have the Lord not become angry. No different than can you celebrate jesus's birth on a day for a false god celebration. I say this for any one person that might hear this and learn. No arguing I'm 100% confident that the Holy Spirit is moving his true followers in the direction that his millennial reign will function be under.

YAHWEH is the same yesterday, today and forever. He does not change. His laws and statues are beautiful instructions for my life. It’s not a burden to walk as Yeshua walked. We are called to follow Him. Not religion. I love YAH so I want to obey His word. All of it to the best of my ability through His ruach (set apart spirit) obedience is proof of salvation. Faith without works is dead. Good for nothing. We cannot confess with our mouth Yeshua and live as if there is no law! That’s crazy. What is sin? It is the transgression of the LAW. Lawlessness. Bible culture is our culture. ALL of it. The Old Testament is the beautiful prophecy of our Messiah and the New Testament is the fulfillment. Yeshua is coming back for a spotless and blameless bride not a foreign bride rooted in paganism worshiping Him as THEY please. ABBA is a jealous God.

[Rom 13:8-10 NKJV] 8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if [there is] any other commandment, are [all] summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love [is] the fulfillment of the law.

For the law was given by Moses; but grace and truth is made by Jesus Christ. John 1:17 That's the closest argument I can find to what this guy says in Allie's video. To myself and many others this reads as the law is still to be upheld. The law of the Torah. Jesus is the addition of grace and truth. Again as throughout the gospel we see the pattern of Jesus asking us to do our best as humans to follow these laws. The difference between the old and the new is that Jesus has given salvation and forgiveness to the Jews who believe in him as well as the gentile. In fact Messianic Jews are also known as Christian Jews. I think perhaps there is some reason to this in the other reference this man pulled up. In Acts The situation in which she speaks of where the men follow Paul and try to exercise demons; Not only are they trying to use power not bestowed on them, which has absolutely nothing to do with celebrating the feasts by the way.... But these people were labeled as "Jews". There were Jews and there were heathens. I believe they specified that it was Jews that were trying to exercise the demons because they were not Christian. So not only were they not direct disciples of Christ but they were not Christians did not believe in Jesus and did not have Jesus in their hearts... In Hebrews 4:8-9 I am surprised to find that it says Jesus did not name another day of rest so the current Sabbath remains a day of rest. So it's basically the opposite of what this man in the video says. This is cross referencing several translations of the Bible as well as the first English translation. I plan to read more of Galatians, but thus far it soeaks much of the salvation of Abraham's seed. Which I wonder if is speaking of the concept that the Jews would first be opened to Christianity and salvation and the gentile to follow. It speaks of how no men, of the seed of Abraham, had been capable of following the whole law. Ie; they all had sinned in one form or another. But that belief in Jesus would save them from requiring they follow every law in such a way. That's the point...just as we aren't asked to be sinless as Christian gentiles...we are asked to TURN away from sin and to do our best to follow Jesus' example. Which BTW, he celebrated Passover and other holy days. Passover is a great way to start IMHO.

Your interpretation of Hebrews 4:9 confuses me. The context clearly is speaking of entering rest in the promised land, now in Christ and has nothing to do with the seventh day which was established before Joshua. You should take a look at Galatians 3, Paul explicitly states several times that in Christ we are no longer under the law.

Jesus celebrated the feast because He hadn't died and rose again yet. When He did , He said it is finished. He had obeyed perfectly and fulfilled every single feast pointing to His sacrifice. He made the 1st obsolete by fulfilling it. Then, after His ascension, the church body was formed, Jew and Gentile in one new body, saved wholly by His grace in faith. Read your N, .T. again and what the apostles taught as they they preached and the Lord grew the church. ❤
