HIT & RUN ON THE INTERSTATE!!! CABLE SYSTEM SAVES THE VICTIMS, BUT NOT THE CAR

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, it appears as though someone may have been the victim of a "hit and run" on the interstate. I say "may" have, because that will be for a courts to decide, not me. The victims apparently got "pushed" into the cable barrier system. The cable barrier system did it's job by trapping the car and keeping it from bouncing back into traffic. And the car did it's job of protecting the occupants, as well as it could. There were some minor injuries. Now, our job, or rather, Ethan's job, is to free the car from the cable barriers and haul the vehicle to our shop for safekeeping until insurance or the courts decide what to do. This was in a very dangerous location. We have worked many incidents in this general area. You will notice a very large "buffer" zone set up by local fire and police to help prevent a secondary incident while investigating and cleaning up this incident. Just another day, or night, on the job for us... I hope you enjoy this video!!!

Always hear people talk about the cables sending you back into traffic. That's a win as opposed to going into oncoming traffic. Vehicles get destroyed people live all that matters in the end

Yup. Kinda sucks to own one of the cars the wreck bounces into in that case, but you're all going the same way at about the same speed, and it's a mess but it could be so much worse. The wreck goes into oncoming traffic and it might go nose to nose with someone at 140mph (70+70). I'm a big fan of cable barriers, myself.

Only when they are installed properly. Washington state had a stretch of I5 just N of Marysville not done to manufacture specs. It failed to stop almost all the vehicles. It got redone per manufacture specs and it works great.

@@Suedeman keeping you inline with the traffic is the best imo, if there is chance for a secondary crash, a rear ending is safer than a side impact (and obviously not a head on collision with oncoming traffic on the other side) and if the impact on the cable is greater, it might tangle in the cables but still doing its job of keeping you allong without large redirecting forces

Here In Denmark all the strong cables have been removed from the motorways because they tear the cars to pieces ,and deads,has been replaced with fixed steel guard rails everywhere.

Thank you!!! We can all learn new things each time we go on a job. During the initial learning phases, he watched and absorbed. That's how I learned a lot from my father. It is his manner of "stand offishness" that allowed that. Contrary to some opinions, it shows he knows who is in charge. When he is out on his own, he does a great job and I have been told that many times . Thank you for recognizing that. Yes, some comment he should know more because he grew up with it. I was told one time, just because I sit in a garage that doesn't mean I'm a car!!!! LOL Thank you for watching and God bless.
