#HongKongProtests #HongKongMaskBan #HongKongRiots2019
Hello, sorry to come back with a rather depressed video, but what happened yesterday really hit my heart as I still have heaps of friends and family who were living in Hong Kong, and impacted by the selfish behaviour of the protesters - simply because they could not deal with the "mask ban" as they could no longer conceal their identities when committing crimes.
Things were getting out of control, now they were even indiscriminately targeting shops and businesses if they are either associated with China, or disagree/not supporting the protesters. How is that any different from The Cultural Revolution back in China? I hope if you're one of those who took to the streets to express your anger, think again - there are definitely better ways to make your voice heard.

You can disagree with the government, I will give it to you too if you disagree with how the police dealt with the protesters in certain cases, but at the same time if you’re not condoning their actions - the same should be applied to the protesters with their radical behaviours too. Challenge me if you disagree.

As much as this comment of mine sounds ridiculous I would like to stress that Hong Kong has made Gotham a reality. A large group of people not obeying the law while framing the police for doing their job. A sad ending is inevitable at this point.

Exactly. It amazes me the power of biased media and how they could flip the story into a completely different narrative. I hope the protesters can stop and rethink what they’ve been doing otherwise there will be irreversible damages.

" simply because they could not deal with the "mask ban" as they could no longer conceal their identities when committing crimes. " 1 : you're ill informed, they're angry because the govt pass the antimask law using unlawful means and without review. 2 : so police has the right to hide their identities while committing crimes on civilians ? is that what you're saying ?

1. If the protests did not escalate, Carrie Lam wouldn't have to introduce this law in the first place. And if the protesters were in the right, what are they scared of with the mask ban? 2. I think that's wrong for the police to conceal their identities, still doesn't justify what the protesters have done while being covered though.

@@JefflesChangy 1: the protest wouldn't have escalated, if she withdrew the bill immediately. she waited months whilst allowing the police & triads to go on a rampage. being right doesnt mean you are safe, they're indiscriminately and unlawfully beating and arresting people. 2. make a new video when they ban mask on police then.

That's simply excuses that the protesters gave themselves to continue on the riots. Again this is some of the double standards that the protesters applied to the government and the police, but never to themselves. It is always the fault of the government, but never themselves. Protesters were the democracy evangelists even when they destroyed the livelihoods of millions of people in HK, yeah? If police were really as bad as you thought you put out, way more people would've been arrested as compared to the numbers that we are seeing right now.

@@JefflesChangy 721 san uk ling 831 101, evidence of protestors being beaten in custody and release 48 hours later without charges. yes in my civilized, unbrainwashed, (don't require ccp shills clicking my channel" mind the police are indeed corrupted. i refute you by saying its simply excuse that the govt and ccp shills are blaming the protestors for the current escalating violence but never themselves. i also refute you that MILLIONS marched and polls have shown the dissatisfaction and i also remind you that govt are to serve the people and not the other way round.

Mate, I think you need to improve your Canto. Right off the bat, you translated the chant 香港人, 對抗 are "Hong Kongers, rebellion". This is already incorrect. The correct translation is, Hong Kongers, resist. What are the Hong Kongers resisting against? If you're paying attention, the answers should be clear: execution of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance. This ordinance gives the CE the power to bypass the legislative council and enact any law the CE likes, thereby making Carrie Lam a dictator. Now generally you ask, what are they fighting for? Did you know the two available candidates in the CE elections are pre-selected by the CCP? Did you only only half of the legislative council members are elected directly by the public? Did you know the police, even from the 12th June protest, have been deployed without their registration numbers and warrant cards, which means they can't be identified and held accountable? Legitimately fair elections and accountability of law enforcer are basic pillars of a proper democracy, and they have already been destroyed. Please educate yourself before you make videos like this.

Bro, u r extremly knit-picking. HK ppl have their discontentments, but no matter what cause we are protesting for, we should minimize violence.

Again, the mask ban wouldn't have been implemented in the first place if the protesters did not go around and not just destroying metro stations and shops, but their actions are in fact impacting millions of normal citizens in the city. Do you think Carrie Lam should simply let you guys run free and keep on destroying the whole city - is that what you want? If you ask me, I think by looking at how Hong Kong people behaved during the protests, I would be horrified to see a leader to be elected who share the same vision as the rioters. Hong Kong people will need to be educated and informed before universal suffrage could happen, otherwise this will simply become a popularity contest and this wouldn't help with the development of HK, as history has already proved that Hong Kong people are quite short-sighted with their visions (this protest is a great example) "Please educate yourself before you make comments like this".

@@tanyouliang the subtle difference is important. Rebellion implies independence, which is not a demand of the protest.

@@JefflesChangy the police can and do make plenty of arrests already, even people who did nothing wrong. And the protester's demands, which were made well before things got violent haven't been met. What do you expect them to do? Peaceful protests for another 4 months? Go read about the 2014 Umbrella Movement. There's the peaceful protests that you're expecting of the protesters, then come back and tell me unprepared Hong Kong people are for democracy how effective that particular protest movement was.

And millions of people in the city whose commutes are impacted because of the radical behaviour of the protesters? I didn’t escape. I built my life here and I earned every right to enjoy it. What you can do is to stop the destruction and do the same to build your own city, instead of continuing hurling petrol bombs and destroying the infrastructure of the city.

LOL how selfish you are to say that “it’s none of our business that the shops have to shut down”. It is exactly your radical behaviour that causes a downturn in economy, with lots of people getting laid off because tourists are not coming over anymore. When you claim to be fighting for freedom and democracy, what about these people who have been impacted by your behaviour? They have their rights too? No? It sounds really bad but at the end of the day, it is you guys have to live with the consequences because of the mess that you’ve started. Don’t want to get tear gassed? Just don’t go to illegal protests and not burning shops, it’s that simple. I’m so sick of the crocodile tears that these protesters are dropping, when they are the ones who made all these damages, and cried police brutality when they are caught red-handed. Good luck, with these protests going on, Hong Kong will soon become a third world country and you will soon cry about not being able to find a job, because all these companies will eventually move to Singapore and Shanghai.
