I really really wanted to get Song of the Grandmother deck so badly. I never had a relationship with either of my grandmothers; I met them once as a child. I think this would have been a very healing deck for me. So I'm hoping either this gets picked up mass market or they have extras on their website. The one/s I did back before seeing the grandmother deck is the 78 Magical Tarot and companion Oracle. I mean, how amazing does it look?! I opted for the two pocket decks. I remember the big bopper magazine! I pulled out all the Johnny Depp posters and put them all over my bedroom walls.

Ash Oak and Thorn was on the top of my list for some time. So when seeing the mini I went to buy it. But finding the full size on sale , that was a no brainier for me. It was still quite expensive for me with shipping , but out of all the decks out there this one is worth it. I'll be on a deck fast for awhile, but The Oak Ash and Thorn will certainly make up for it ! With so many decks it's hard but, like you , will I use it ? And how many do I really need ? History of Music Tarot isn't for me but I was thrilled to see Geddy Lee from Rush as one of the cards! That was fun. My parents are huge Rush fans. And OMG I waffled so much trying to decide which size to back for 78 Tarot Magical. This will be my... oh wow, my fifth 78 Tarot deck O_O So of course I'm like, well I should match and do the full size right? I gotta have a matching set. But I know I'll use the pocket size more often. Ultimately I went with pocket size for both the tarot and oracle and sacrificed "a matching set" for the practicality of it. But ooph that was a tough choice!

@@Vanyro0 from what I’ve seen, besides the titles, there’s slight difference in how some cards were drawn. There are videos on her IG that compare the reworked to the original. They’re also narrower in width too.

Having the same exact reaction to which to order on the 78 tarot. I too am fascinated by the pictures , magical themes, unicorn pics, & the artist collaboration. I also wonder if I will use the deck & Oracle and want to get them both with the physical guidebooks but whoa pricey, makes me hesitant. Seems you are connecting with the Beautiful Beasts deck, you should prob pick it up for yourself.

Lisa, your hair and makeup are flawless! You look gorgeous. I've backed the Song of the Grandmothers - how could I not, when I have Mari's Gentle Tarot in every permutation! (And lots of her merchandise as well.) I love MJ Cullinane's decks, and i just got the expansion pack for the Urban Crow oracle. My new favorite of hers is the Forhaxa tarot. I have a deep connection to corvids, so love her crow decks, but Forhaxa is so lovely and reads great. Thanks for doing these videos, I always learn something.

I have been waiting for this video to come out to see what your take on 78 magical was - but you were no help lol you were just as indecisive as I was. I was like will I use it? or is it just that it's so beautiful? well, they're trying to be eco friendly with the pdf guidebook...but I like having a guidebook. I could just get the pocket decks - but would they be big enough to do justice to that gorgeous art? should I get the regular size tarot and the pocket oracle? in the end I just freaking ordered everything, lol.

I've definitely pre-ordered the Trick or Treat Tarot. I can't wait for that one! 🥰🎃 I also pre-ordered the Weiser RWS, coming out in September. Not one you covered, which is fine. I love the coloring it's showing. I just hope the artwork is a little neater than in the preview images, linework and color bleeding outside the line work. We'll see if I get burned on that pre-order, but I hope not.

I have been agonising over the 78 tarot too! So far I have backed the full size tarot and pocket sized oracle, but I do have small hands so I keep flip flopping on whether to get both in pocket size. I am pretty set on the pocket oracle though because I think I will use is as an addition to the tarot. So I'm still super undecided. 😄😂

I would love that beasts tarot, the one with the close ups of the animals to be funded! I backed it because it's a Canadian creator, and the concept was so interesting! To me it's like an upgraded version of Joyseeker, if that makes sense? The 6 of swords is what got me as well... Love your video, and your hair!

I have only bought 2 decks this year. Nothing is appealing to me. I always wanted a Lightseers mini to travel with. So I am loving the decision to get Aunt Lily's mini deck. It reminds me so much of Lightseer's. I even like a few card depictions better. I also pre-ordered Cozy Witch Tarot. Saw it was the same artwork as Believe in Your Own Magic and immediately pre-ordered. The phrases under the key words look so spot on. Guess I am in a slump this year. Ha Just deep diving into what I already own. I love Barbara Moore guidebooks! But it's not my kind-of deck. I read that the I'm Here deck is going to print now! So excited!

1:01:28 Abgail Larson confirmed that her deck will be fully illustrated. I think that's because it's not Disney-related and all original artwork. They also have the Garbage Pail Kids tarot, which is licensed by Topps Company and is also fully illustrated. I also found out recently that Disney is very involved in the creation of all their licensed decks that Insight Editions has put out and actually approves and has final approval on everything.

Cyanotype was a big kids craft in the 80's--you lay something like a flower on a special paper and put it out in the sun to develop. This deck is really pretty and I am so tempted, but I hate foil edging so much. Also set a reminder for the 78--have to look at the images again. Also love the lizard deck so watching that one. Ugh, I don't need more decks! My brothers were so into Garbage Pail Kids but I'm more of a 70's Wacky Pack child :D

The Mike Wilcox tarot looked rad aside from it only being a majors only with some oracle and astrology cards, with shipping and tax its over $100 USD 👎 its only 55 cards

Yeah, I need to wait on this. This is only a majors from the Tarot and additional cards added on per the artist's Instagram. Not a full 78 card Tarot Deck. So I think the pricing is way off. However, I love the art work.

another thing I would like to know on kickstarter campaigns where the art isn't finished is - are the concepts for the cards finished? like, is this just a matter of drawing out ideas or sketches, or does it mean the creator has to still figure out how they're going to illustrate the cards?

I think it depends - usually creators will mention on the page how far along they are. Most of the time the art is all done, sometimes they're part of the way and in smaller cases they just or haven't started yet. It comes down to how comfortable you are with how complete a deck needs to be before you back it

I suggest you watch some reviews of the Supernatural Tarot Deck, as I think the Buffy one will be very similar. Minors are horrendous, a weird mix of picture and pip. When the creators had such a massive source reference (14 seasons I think) they made use of very little of it. Sadly I'm betting Buffy will be the same

I don't have Tarot del Fuego but from what I'v eseen on vids, I believe it's maybe between Tarot in a Tin size and Fournier size? I believe she has dimensions on the purchase page so you can double check that though!

the blue earth tarot kickstarter actually does tell you what the cyanotype process is: "Cyanotype is a photographic process that produces blue prints. I've developed a way of working with cyanotype that is fairly unique, I filmed the process while the deck was being created. To learn more about the inspiration and steps that went into this deck please check out the video below where I walk you though the creation of Blue Earth Tarot."

I’m tempted by the Black Salt Lenormand, with its black and holographic shininess. It gives me a 90s nostalgia vibe. I am a little tempted by the History of Music tarot, but I’d like to see who is on which cards. It’s easy for that kind of deck to be just be a bunch of people with our actually having any reverence to the card they are on. I have the Classic Rock tarot and it’s like that for the minors. As a music lover that bothers me because it could of been done well. As for the Insight Edition decks I can’t say I’m tempted by any of them. oh my-- that Messages from Her deck has a LOT of intellectual property issues!! You would need permission from all of those people to use their likenesses. Yikes.
