Okay so, I've having a problem where this starting happening out of the blue. For context, I boot my PC up and it works for a while, then randomly it'll turn to pages and folders show as if their are empty when they aren't. All the data loads, it's only File Explorer. After I close File Exploer is becomes unuseable. I think have to restart it using Task Manager. Would doing this fix that too as I don't know if it's the same problem?

As I mentioned in the Video, I tried Restarting the explorer.exe using Task Manager after clearing icon cache but that didn't work. The last method shown exactly worked for me. if you found this helpful please Subscribe

I tried it, but I am unable to reinstall windows as it keeps showing me 'This update can't be downloaded and installed because it's not yet ready for your device'

You might have a Shell Icons key name in your registry and it has a value with a missing path to the icon, try deleting the Shell Icons key and restart Explorer. Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
