An excellent description of infidelity. Been there on the betrayed side. It takes a long time to heal, but you really never forget.

Wow.. Spot on! It changed completely who I am after my partner cheated and had an affair for nearly 2 years.. Like u said.. I had blind faith 100 percent towards my relationship.. And after I question every single move or word 🤔😊 I started analysing everyone's behaviour 😁😅

I don't believe my ex-wife carries any loss for her adultery. Many nights I lay sleepless, panic attacks, and anxiety while she's 6 inches from me softly snoring and enjoying a relaxing sleep. I lost joy from most activities while she spared no opportunity for fun, even telling me she has no desire to sit around with me and be sad, life is too short to not have fun. Many unfaithful are damaged from cheating, but some aren't. It helps to face the facts in front of you.

Totally relatable. Trauma in the body. The cheating spouse seems to have no clue the damage done to you, the joy/life just crushed out of you, thinks you're no longer fun to be around. He sleeps w/out a bother.

That’s because she likely didn’t face any consequences, because she’s sleeping next to you and not alone as a divorced woman. Boot her out of your life. It will not get better.

@@ShaunyP26 That was early on, I was still in a lot of shock. This was after 20 years of marriage. It is a huge shock, no other way about it. We're divorced now.

@@wm7929 Did she ever apologize? How did you get past it? I divorced mine within 65 days from DDay. She abandoned me with a foster child and married the guy within 6 months of divorce. I'm a year and a half out and my anger still is as strong as it ever was and I got everything in the divorce.

@@ShaunyP26 She did apologize but not to the degree of remorse or repentance. Recovery is a lot of work and she barely went through the motions; the first year after discovery was full of resisting and rebelling, and in the year after that it I saw a reluctant effort, never with a joyful heart, and mostly an annoyed attitude. For me things were just dying and I gave up. I'm about 4 years out now and maybe 50/60% healed, I get small bouts of anger now and then but I can move past it. Many of the guys in my men's group have divorced with the same story, our unfaithful wives just didn't do the work. They say that when the woman cheats it's usually over, and I think there's a lot of truth to that. You have my empathy on your situation as well. It's horrible.

Infidelity is always abuse of the highest order. Cheaters are profound abusers.

Not knowing the potential partner causes a mismatch, which causes dysfunction, which cause straying. Get to know people before you settle down. Some still go further after shocking/disappointing displays of bad behavior. Learn to unhook once you see deal breaking behavior. They can improve, but more likely remain & worsen over time, affecting you & your children. People rarely change. They need massive near death like experiences ;)…Transforming yourself is tough enough.

Same feelings apply to emotional infidelity. Through Instagram, Google chats, Whatsapp. Sexting it's disgusting. He has deleted everything after I blew up and kicked him out. He came back broken and ashamed. He has changed 100% but I still don't trust and feel safe. I'm giving him a second chance.

Before you cheat on your partner make sure you are willing to take that risk?! What about the person getting cheated on, where is their choice? No. Don't cheat ever. Divorce is preferable to cheating. Just divorce them, then you can be with your lover without having to sneak around.
