Thank you Dr! Your video was so educational! I truly believe now 6 hours is not enough because I do wake up at 3 or 4 am and takes some time to get back to sleep. I think 7 straight hours would be so much better. Just wish I could not wake up. Thanks again God Bless you

Quality over quantity, as we aged naturally needed less hours f sleep as long as they feel energized & refreshing in the morning ! My grandmother age 97 she have been sleeping for 4-5 hours a day for last 30 years and she is very healthy and brain sharp !

Must be doing something right if she's 97!

If I spend 8 hours in bed, and I'm not anxious, then whatever sleep I am getting must be the sleep that my body needs. Shouldn't it be as simple as that? Other things are irrelevant and frivolous, because we are then talking about something that's totally beyond our own control anyways.

Hi John, what you said is true IF you don't have insomnia and you have a healthy, consistent pattern of sleep. But if in that 8 hours in bed you're sleeping less than 85% of the time, then it's not optimal sleep, and there's A LOT you can do to improve it if you want to.
