I concur with Caitlin, as I do with 99% of her advices that getting fit really makes a difference. about 3 years ago, I was 20kg overweight, looked like shit, always sweaty and none of my clothes that I liked to wear looked and fit good on me. Se, at the beginning of the pandemic, I decided to cut my Carbs drastically and workout. I am have never this good in 35 years .

A lot of great advice here on mostly simple things. A quick note on the muscles and exercise and how minute of a time commitment this can be. I do 100 push ups a day--nothing compared to when I was a fighting fit 21-year old Marine... but now I'm a 43-year old academic, so 100 push ups each day seems like a good routine. Anyways, I break it into 4 sets of 25 throughout the day. All told, that comes out to about 3 1/2 minutes of exercise. Add to that a 15-minute run and a decent diet (along the lines of what is in this video) and you've got a guy in pretty decent shape with a pretty happy wife.

I agree with this, although I think Orion's idea of fundamental masculinity as having clear values and having the willingness to make sacrifices for those values is a better definition of that. This beer can monster truck business is 'performative masculinity' and is kind of arbitrary between cultures. You might get some short-term laughs for your lumberjack shirt or because you open carry in Idaho, but women are not attracted to that. I guess I would personally add that since women are more vulnerable to emotional pain but less vulnerable to physical pain, manliness includes the willingness to step up and endure emotional pain, or take on tasks that require emotional numbing. This could be dirty jobs, killing things, giving people bad news, firing people, escalating disputes in public, saying no to homeless people, arguing with salespeople, saying when you're in a group that a certain plan has gone wrong and now you all need to adopt a new plan, and sometimes just pushing through a tough time and doing what needs to be done without complaining, even though you *could* complain, even though there's plenty to complain about. If a woman knows you can do this, she will feel safe and secure with you. You want that. If you won't do this, and the woman has to, especially if she fancies herself sweet and non-confrontational, she may do it because it has to be done, but she will hate it, and she will soon hate you. Mojo really seems about the absence of baggage that most men have about sex and relationships, and their stubbornness and limiting beliefs. Lots of men won't even buy a vibrator because they think it's competing with them, or some similar nonsense. It is the ability to play, and experience joy from play, in and out of sex. Money and muscles I think I would functionally combine Caitlin's points on. Because women absolutely need you to be someone who can keep the wolves at bay; keep entropy from destroying your bodies and keep the economy from enslaving or impoverishing you both stuck in some horrible job/routine/arrangement. And yeah obviously you need to have the money to raise a kid if she's thinking she's gonna have a kid with you. But the caveat is important. A lot of guys become obsessed with their physique and turn into narcissus in the gym. A lot of guys become obsessed with their work and will just try to buy or delegate away anything other than their job that requires time and effort, because so much of their personality is their job. If the guy becomes obsessive about either of these things, it can get to a point of diminishing returns where, for example, he won't spend time with his wife and kids because he's trying to get 9 million dollars instead of 4 million dollars to impress his coworkers or his dead father or simply because he doesn't really know how to do anything else but work or think that it's ever worth it. There's no room for a woman in the mind of such a man.

With the money point, you mentioned a man good with money has a modest job at 401k. Is it reasonable to expect that much? I understand that with some time and effort you can make over 100K, but even if 401k is not jeff Bezos level that's still too much for 'average' dudes to meet this amount.
