Absolutely love this, Clare. castor oil, (organic, cold pressed and a dark glass bottle) has been an absolute lot game changer for me. I use it at night as the last thing in my skin care routine over Tretinoin and my skin is so much better for it. I can honestly say that this is my favourite channel for all things to do with aging. Have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy Hogmanay to you and your family. ❤🎉

I have been using oils since my early twenties, 65 now, and that was a time when Noone knew much about them.. Never left them ever since.. great video ❤

I have been in the natural skin care world for 30 years. The best oils/fats I have ever used on my skin are animal fats esp tallow and pork lard. To this I will add in other (plant) oils for slip and some added benefit but nothing has even come close to comparing to the benefits of these animal fats on my skin. Truly game changers. I do work with small amounts of essential oils; mostly CO2's and oleoresins as they are more gentle on the skin and work great (as long as you choose the right ones). 🙂

Have you tried tallow vs lard based creams? I was under impression that tallow is better.

@@curiouskittycat5977 The lard has a much nicer texture and slip. It transforms the face balm to feel so luxurious (I like my face oils to be animal fat heavy so it has a thicker consistancy). And it has some added benefits. They play very well together. I make balms and not creams. Adding liquids in the form of floral waters or whatever makes your product need preservatives which I avoid on my skin. I dont even use natural ones (they have some issues too). I just use the (100% natural) floral water (hydrosol) before using my balm. Solves the issue and your balm will last exponentially longer.🙂

Thank you for answering. I found one lard based face i think cream so i will try it. Normally if i eat any pork i get pimples so i was afraid the lard would have same effect. Need to try. Thanks again. @@lr1732

Great episode, thank you. I'm quite new here, but I want to say that I'm very impressed by this podcast - great topics and proper, intelligent discussion with intelligent, knowledgeable people. There's loads of great podcasters out there, but this one uniquely interesting. As with many of your guests, it would be great to get Dauncey back sometime as I get the feeling that she has a lot more to say.

I have noticed my skin thickening around the cheek area under the eye and jawline. I mixed pura d'or rosehip seed oil , castor oil, Argan oil, safflower oil. I love the smell of Castor oil.

I've read that Rosehip oil is actually Vit.A/Retin A/Tretinoïn derived?? Would've loved to hear what her thoughts was on Rose oil, Aloe, also great for healing properties for the skin.

Interesting, Clare, thank you. I love the Maysama facial oil (still have loads left 6 months on) and I have also been using castor oil at night for the last couple of weeks. I leave it on for 20 minutes and gently wipe away with damp washcloth - it is very viscous! Mine is organic, hexane free and cold-pressed. I do notice positive effects and will continue for the rest of the month, see if it's worth adding to my routine. Your skin looks very glowy here 🙂 ❤

Co ut pul is skillet for our artwries. Don’t use it when cooking unless you enjoy a prospect of a stroke and the like. Dogs process fats differently though and benefit from coconut oil in their diet. I personally use coconut oil to double cleanse my face. It’s my first step.

Clare, your skin looks great. I hope this doesn’t sound wrong but I have been following your skincare because I’m similar to you in terms of your aging. You don’t have a lot of wrinkles but more sagging (my issue too). You skin looks more lifted!

I think I’d prefer the wrinkles 😂

Good morning from Canada. I'm 66 years old and have begun developing small white dots on my skin, around my eyes and lips. I originally thought they were milia but absolutely nothing works to diminish them. I'm now thinking they could be tiny calcium deposits. Any idea on what oils could be most helpful? Or any other products. Ty and Merry Christmas.
@thehonestchannel2 күн бұрын
That sounds frustrating. I know it’s a cost consideration but if retinoids are not helping, I would book an appointment with a dermatologist to find out what it is. Hope you get it resolved soon.
